Milford Plaza hotel in New York is well worth the money you will spend on accommodation.....Ok there is no breakfast or food supplied but the facilities are very good and the rooms are comfortable and well set up....costs of accommodation in the Big A are well known so the price of a room at the Milford is bound to surprise you ... it did me and after we had spent 3 nights there. we realised just how much we had saved overall instead of going to well known but very highly priced hotels. Well positioned close to Times Square and the Theatre District, you could do much worse in a more expensive hotel. Certainly when we return to New York, we will be staying at The Milford Plaza again....you get so much for so little.

We booked this hotel for a week, and found it close to Times Square, whilst being relatively cheap (compared to other NY hotels). We were on the 24th floor, facing inwards. We heard nothing from the streets in terms of noise. The room had a double bed, bedside tables, and a set of drawers, in addition to the small cupboard, and bathroom. It wasn't what you'd expect for that amount of monry, but it was comfortable and spacious enough for what we needed it for...and we did have 4 suitcases! There was also working AC, safe and TV in the room. It was cleaned daily, with fresh towels and polite service, so we really can't complain. There are also loads of places to eat nearby, but it's worth venturing further afield to save a few dollars. There was good security on the door and we felt safe, and the bellmen were more than helpful. Don't go here expecting luxury, but the location and price are excellent, and make it worth the sacrifice.

The Milford Plaza is just a sort walk from times square! Which in my mind is the heart of New York city.It is also very near alot of the broadway theatres. Daniel craig , Hugh Jackman, Jude Law, Jeff Daniels and James Gandolfini were in theatres which were on the same block as the Milford Plaza. The Hotel was having a make over when i stay in it. i could onlly tell of this make over when i was outside. It was like a normall Hotel inside. The rooms were basis and clean, which was all i wanted as i was spending most of my time out and about New York City. The staff were nice and helpful! If we needed anything we just had to ask! When i go back to New York i will stay in this hotel!!

We were disappointed in the size of the room, and the cleanliness. The location is awesome, however, and security was very good. We asked to be placed near our friends and were a mere 12 floors apart. The rooms were very basic, bed, closet, bathroom, TV. Nothing special.

I've stayed at this hotel for the past 10 years each time I've visited New York. It is an outstanding hotel with a great location. I love being close to Times Square and the theaters. Another amenity is being close to the 42nd Street Station on the 8th Ave line. The room was clean and comfortable. I loved having a room not facing 8th Avenue this time around. I was able to sleep without hearing the traffic. The staff was courteous, and my check in and check out were quick. The only improvement I would recommend is to have curtains that completely close over the windows. I like to sleep in when I'm on vacation, and when the sun came up, it woke me up earlier than I wanted. I'll be back next year, and thanks for the great stay.

The one reason to stay in the Milford Plaza is its location. Right in the theatre district, very close to Time Square and walking distance to many other locations, Rockafella Centre, Empire State, Central Park. However, the rooms are very very small and barely enough room for 2 people to get ready in and the staff we're not particularly welcoming or helpful.

We stayed at the Milford last week & were pleased overall. The room was small as expected for a Manhattan hotel but it wasn't an issue. The location was fantastic as it was far enough away from the noise of Times Square but just a short walk away from the action. Many restaurant choices within a very short distance from the front door which was nice too. The best part was that we were allowed an early check in when we arrived from out of town at 10:00am. That sealed the deal for me & I will be back to stay at the Milford again.

When we arrived there was a long line to register and only one person attending the guests, the other employee was on the phone, therefore it took a long time to register. The room was small but clean with new linens and drapes, but the bathroom was tiny, you could hardly move. Towels were good and plenty. In the advertisement they offer free internet for the price we paid, and there was no internet connection in our room, they moved us to another room. They advertise king size beds but they told us that there are no king size beds in the Hotel. We were dissapointed.

This hotel, whilst commanding an enviable position near Times Square, leaves much to be desired!! Whilst the lobby and reception are clean and bright, giving guests and potential guests a positive first impression, it goes downhill rapidly when you reach your room! We were allocated room 621, which has to be the worst room I have ever stayed in, being quite low (the hotel is approx 20 floors high), and with a view of the room opposite! Therefore no light enters, and you need the light on 24/7! This is supposedly a "superior" room!! Also, there is a mesh cover just below floor 5, I assume to stop pigeons landing on the lower windowsills, but all it suceeds in doing is catching rubbish thrown out of windows higher up, so the smell is quite disconcerting! Add to this that the hotels air conditioning system is situated outside this room, resulting in noise which makes it difficult to sleep, you can imagine that I think this hotel has little going for it!

This hotel is ok for a quick trip to New York. In fairness it's all about location. I would stay again as the security is really good and there is a security guard checking room keys just as you go into the lifts so it's safe. The hotel lobby is in good condition but the room I had leaves a lot to be desired. However you are getting a room beside times square. This allows you easy access to Broadway and the red tour busses which leave two streets up. It's perfect for a single or couple who are not fussy and just want to get around NY. Overall reasonable hotel in an excellent location. I would probably stay further downtown next trip. Maybe Soho.

This hotel is ideally situated 2mins from Time Square. Most staff were lovely bit of a miserable woman on the ticket purchase desk but tbh it's cheaper to just go to the theatre to book your broadway tickets. Security is a bit over the top but it works for them. Walls are thin and the fully mirrored wall opposite the bed is either a pro or con depending on what floats your boat. The air conditioning is cold and unfortunately you can't change the temp at all. Overall clean and pleasant.

Located in the absolute heart of the Theater District, the Milford really stands out as the perfect place to be if you make the mistake of letting your wife (a music major) watch the Tony Awards and then pester to see as many of the latest/greatest shows as possible. This is our third visit here in 22 years and I still recommend it. The facility is a bit mature but I would suggest going before the multi-million $ face lift coming soon as certainly the prices will be significantly higher and who knows what the architectural world will stick in here. Everything worked in the room, workout room and service was available anytime and all the staff was beyond wonderful, even offering to "step on toes" if we had any problems. Club rooms are worth the bit extra for the breakfast, (well staffed but limited protein) and the knowledgeable staff who can suggest places for everything I could dream up. Good deal, great facility, wonderful location. I'll go there again.

The location is safe & excellent, 1 short block from Times Sqr, Starbucks, & bakery. 2 short blocks from subway and market. As for the hotel itself, this was our 2nd time in 1 year, and again the bathroom smelled like an old wet towel -- the water mold smell. However, the bathroom appeared fairly clean, with toiletries. The bedroom was standard small NY or Vegas room. Small TV with approx. 35 channels, mostly English. The service was generally good. There is a Starbucks 1 block away for cheap internet wifi, but the hotel does NOT offer internet. They have a "business center" which is no longer free. Instead the computers are USD$0.25 per minute for internet, a ripoff. Overall, the hotel is good for the money and location, and I would stay again assuming I could get a cheap rate.

The elevators were great, programmed to express to your floor. The security staff was active. They asked to see our key each time we went up to our room. Our room was very clean but our traveling companions had an issue with theirs. The bathroom had a lot of hair in it. The maid staff was very apologetic and took care of it immediately. We also had an issue with our smoke detector. The battery died and it kept beeping. The hotel staff came to repair it but it took an hour and it was after lights out so this was annoying when we wanted to sleep. However, these were minor inconveniences. For the money, this hotel totally suited our needs and we will definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.
