The service we received throughout the hotel was outstanding. Employees were courteous, helpful, and went out of their way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay. At check-in, we were offered a free room upgrade, as we were traveling with children. It was unexpected and made our trip enjoyable and luxurious. The restaurant was excellent as well.

From the time pulled in the driveway, doorman opening the car & unloading our bags to the cart, I knew I had finally returned to good service. The man who brought our bags to the room, drew back the curtains so we could see our great view, drew open the closet drapes, placed our things there and recommended the concierge to make reservations for us so that we would not have a long wait in a nice restaurant. Clean, comfortable, i-home stations...every hotel should be like this...

The hotel wasn't situated right in the heart of the Chicago, but the #3 bus (which takes you right into the Magnificent Mile) runs right by the hotel. There is also a hotel shuttle that can drop off visitors downtown, at the Museum Campus, or at the Navy Pier. The hotel is also connected to the McCormick Place Metra. Unfortunately, breakfast isn't included and the hotel restaurants were a bit pricey. Overall, it was a nice stay in a nice room... except for the bathroom door that refused to close all the way.

I'm extremely disappointed with the parking situation. Come on 28 bucks for parking and don't get to leave after you park without having to pay again. That's a rip off.

Overall the hotel was clean and decent to stay at. I would like to see the restaurants open later in the night with more to offer since there are no restaurants with in walking distance. But otherwise it was a good hotel.

While the few blocks immediately surrounding the hotel are not incredibly welcoming, S. Michigan Ave is just a short walk, and as you go north, the neighborhood improves significantly.

There were no restaurants within walking distance. We were forced to eat and one of the 3 places there which was not that great. I thought we would be in the middle of downtown Chicago. A small bottle of water cost $3.50 We tried to buy water from the vending machines on every floor and they were empty. Would have been $1.50 at vending machine. I would never go back to that hotel

We stayed here Friday night with 2 teenage daughters. At 2:00 AM we were awoke by a party next door. I could hear conversation in the next room with both doors closed. Nothing close at all to eat. Both eating establishments were overpriced. Room service for 2 eggs, bacon and toast was $19.00!!!!! OMG are you kidding? Hotel was very busy with a convention both Friday night and Saturday until we checked out. Elevators were soooooooo crappy, with long waits and overly crowded. Nice fitness room and laundry facilities for only a dollar to wash and a dollar to dry (45 minutes on dryer).

This hotel was fantastic. The hotel is easy to get in and out of, the room was very clean and smelled nice and had an incredible view of both the lake and the skyline. The lobby was large and accomadating. The staff was extremely helpful and always smiling. They are the ones that made it a perfect experience. The only drawback, if any, is the location. You need to cab it just about anywhere except the museum campus where you will find Shedds, field and Addler planitarium. However, for what we paid, cabbing it everwhere was still much less than staying closer downtown, and I guarantee you won't find a better run hotel. Stay at this hotel, you won't be dissapointed!

good for the money, my only compliant is with 38 dollars per day fee for parking. Add it to the very expensive parking rates in Chicago (average $24 per half hour), it's better to get a hotel near the down town and walk or use public transport.

It was a great hotel but it cost $38 dollars to park your car vallet and $27 to self park. This is crazy. It cost $15dollars a day to park on Michigan Ave and this hotel is by the conference center. Also a great hotel should not have pimps bring protitutes over to the hotel with door man assisting them.

I love the Hyatt, i love the rooms and the decor and you get a really nice room for a great price. This hotel eventhough its called Hyatt it did not have the amenties all the other Hyatts I ever stay at. I was really disapointed that the room was outdated and i was in a room that had dirty bed sheets. I was promised and upgrade room but instead got a room that faced the parking lot and it was just an over all bad situation. The staff was very nice.

Reservations were not in hotel system. It took 2hrs to get it straight and get in the room. Hotel shuttle will drop you off but will not pick you back up. The amount of money on hold for incidentals has changed twice and incrased 3 days after chek out along with valid charges. After calling the accounting dept to check on fees another 30 dollars was added.what a mess.

The hotel was beautiful, and the views were great. However when we had to wait an extra 30 minutes for a handicap accessible taxi because the front desk never called for us when we gave them a half hour notice of needing one, the hotel refused to do anything for the screw up. I and the person I was with were very unhappy about it. Also the room next to us had children who were screaming at each other and nothing was done about that either.

Much better deal than any other major Chicago hotel anywhere near downtown. Has the extras (indoor swimming pool, excellent exercise gym). Concierge won't point you toward anything in the area, because off campus the area isn't exactly a tourist area, but we ate at the local burger joint anyway.

The hotel was well kept, the stafff was friendly and shuttle to local attractions was nice. We had a view of the lake and it was convenient to places we wanted to go that weekend, but for a 3 people in a room and having to pay extra for that person, there are no 3 third person benefits like a cot or rollaway bed or even extra towels in the room prior to asking. Only a "pallet" on the floor due to a supposed fire hazard.

This hotel was average at best considering the prices. It is located next to McCormick Center, so it always a minimum $10 cab ride to civilization. If you choose to pay for parking you are paying just under $40 per day with in & out service, probably more after you tip. I stayed for two evenings during a time no conventions were taking place, so it was a ghost town, yet they managed to put me in a room under a room under construction or maintenance. Although I had just woken up, I was greeted by the sounds of power drills and hammering above me. I couldn't get ready fast enough. That evening I was getting ready to go to bed and I heard a knock on the door. I opened it thinking it was a turn down service. I opened the door to see two very large suspicious guys in long coats. They saw me and imediately said, "Wrong door." Needless to say, they just kept knocking on every door down the hallway. It was a little disturbing. As for food service, I didn't eat here, but I did have a martini that ended up costing $16. The bill can add up quickly if you aren't careful. The most disappointing thing about the stay was the overall cost. You could stay downtown in a nicer hotel for less and pay the same amount for parking and still save money.

The room was good, spacious, the view fabulous - because it was New Year's a bit hectic - had to find an arm band to access the elevator the first time, then no security the second trip up so inconsistent docking station for ipod great - the closets were interesting, but plenty of room to hang coats from cold Chicago weather my complaint - the food, yuck, really could improve the quality of food
