Washington Jefferson Hotel - Nueva York

I would def recommend this hotel to a friend. I was in a single room - which at first seemed really small as I have NEVER stopped in a single room - but I soon got used to it. The room had more space then some of the doubles I have stopped in Paris!? Great location and bellmen had lot of suggestions for local eatery on 9th. the hotel provides free wi fi which was a bonus as lot of hotels charge you.

We stayed in a room that seemed like a closet. It must be the "Worst Peoples" room, room 102. Hotel was clean but felt cramped with 2 people in that room. Thank goodness we canceled another night. Great location...Wicked was a block away.

We had a wonderful stay at the Washington Jefferson when we went up to see a show. We loved that the hotel was only a block from the theater and it was a short walk to Columbus Circle. We walked to dinner as well over on 9th street. The room was very contemporary in decor and very clean. It was small, but we didn't spend much time there. It was equipped with everything we needed. We got a king deluxe room which is what we had requested. The beds are platform beds and we had read that they were too hard from other reviews, but we didn't find that to be the case. The bathroom had really nice modern finishes and a nice high-pressure shower. The only thing was that the bathroom didn't have a fan to vent out the steam. Overall, a nice, clean, quality hotel right in the heart of it all. We'd definitley go back.

The room we stayed in was kinda small but the location and price was great. We went to a pizza place a block away and had the best pizza ever.

The room was very small but clean and had it's own bathroom. The neighborhood was perfect and everyone at the hotel was nice. The only thing the room was missing was a refrigerator. My chief complaint was that it was loud. No street noise, just loud pounding noises all times of the day. I would stay here again except maybe in a different room. I was on the first floor near the main desk.

The room was very clean, the convenience to other places good, and the staff was great, but beware the single bed. The room itself is tiny but the problem is that if you are above say 5'10 you simply will not fit in this child size bed! At 5'6, when I stretched, my feet were off the end. Also, it was very dark - only two small dim lamps at the far end of the bed and a window, at that same end, to the center of the building with little light coming in even on a sumnny day.

The only problem that I had with the hotel is that the free wireless internet signal is so weak I couldn't log on, but the staff were very helpful and gave me an LAN cable to use instead. I had to change rooms as the socket for the LAN cable wasn't working, but the hotel manager soon changed rooms for me and all was well. THe first room was small, but I only needed it really to sleep and check emails etc. The room that I was moved to was bigger. Both rooms were very clean and of a high standard. Would definately stay there again. Thanks to all the staff there.

Though room was a little cramped, it was as advertised. Staff was attentive. Can't beat the rates.

Bed was very hard. No box spring, just a mattress on a board. It was VERY small, even by NYC standards, but if you want a place just to sleep it was great and the water pressure in the shower was excellent!

Great little hotel.If they served cofee it would have been perfect for our visit to NYC to see Wicked.

I have used this hotel three times now and found it quite adequate as a senior tourist .location is great staff helpful price is right

This hotel was lovely really easy to find and so close to times square the location was fab!! The room I had was a single room that was plenty big for one person the hotel also has free wifi you just need username and password from reception which was great for keeping in touch! The bathroom was a great size with good facilities and there was also a tv in the room so could chill after the miles of walking around New York! I would defiantly recommend this hotel! And would be happy to stay there again!!

The reviews for this hotel were right. Very clean and comfortable. And very small but not ridiculous. What the reviews missed is that the hotel has a little bit of style and there is a Korean/Japanese restaurant downstairs. I'd stay here again.

The location of the hotel was great for the price. (Possibly even not considering the price.) However, the two items which cause me to rate this hotel low are that the window mounted AC allowed so much street noise into the room (from the 5th floor) as to make it impossible to sleep. The second item was that the bed was little more than a pallet. So firm as to make it difficult to sleep. Either item by itself might have been an inconvienience, but together made this trip much less enjoyable, and uncomfortable.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Washington Jefferson Hotel and it has been the perfect experience. Both times I have been under 21 and it is one of the few that allow booking under such age. It is in a perfect location, just a block or so away from Broadway, which is why we were in the city. Rates were perfect for what our stay was for. The staff is polite and helpful, and the rooms are well-kept. Maybe next time we will try the sushi bar that I just discovered was there! Thank you, and I do hope to return.

the staff was excellant; cleanliness of the the room was outstanding; and the location is really convenient. we would stay here again

I was a bit taken back when I first saw the hotel. It seemed dated. I arrived early and was greeted by a lovely welcome. The reception man was happy to give me my room before check in time. The only room was on the second floor street side. The view of neighboring building was nice but noisy had an appt so dropped bags and left. I asked for another room when I returned and the new reception person was very polite and let me see another room. It was on the side of building no view but very quiet. The room is small but clean. Every person who worked at the hotel was friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a decent priced room and size not an issue this is a good find. Also, right next to subway.

Yes, the rooms are small, but they're very comfortable... great sheets, well-appointed bathrooms with lovely granite & limestone. The A/C wasn't working well when I got to my room. I asked for a different room, but instead, the housekeeping staff sent another A/C unit, and it worked beautifully for my 3-day stay. The staff was really great the whole time I was there. Complimentary wireless worked well (which is important on business trips!). I was impressed with this hotel, and I'm picky.

This hotel is close to everything including subway stations to get to things that are beyond walking distance. Our room was clean and nicely decorated but tiny! It was also very loud throughout the night; you could hear everything going on in the rooms nearby. I was happy when I read that the hotel had "parking" but disappointed that it was valet and very expensive, something to consider with your budget and overall cost of staying at the hotel. Overall, it was a good experience and I would probably consider staying here again. It is a great price for the location.

This was a clean, well located hotel...in the city, so did not spend much time in the room....good thing...not too many amenities in the hotel....no vending, ice....beds ok, not great, room very small...but again, for the price and location....was very good...would spend time there again.

This hotel was in a great location offering tourist area destinations and local area highlights. There were dozens of restaurants, pharmacy's, and coffee shops around the area. It was a 5 minute walk to times square and Broadway was just around the corner. I would definitely stay here again. The bed was very comfortable, the room was a bit small but we were never in it. Great air conditioning and quiet hotel.

I enjoyed my overnight stay at the property, which was reasonably appointed for my need. I had a single Queen sized bed with wall-mounted LCD TV. Rooms are spaced apart that one doesn't hear the next room's occupants. I did not enjoy the layout of the room; the bath room door opened right into the bed's side. I needed to alert my partner when I would open the door so as to not hit them. Wireless internet access was provided at no extra charge. My room was on the 2nd floor facing the avenue and with all of the late night mingling the noise level was disruptive and easy to hear. Nevertheless, my stay was comfortable, and I would recommend this property to others.

The room was a bit small, but not unreasonably so for New York. Perfect for someone who expects to be out exploring all day and just needs a comfortable room to come home to. The room was warmly decorated, comfortable and the bathroom was modern and fully stocked. Came with a small desk and TV with excellent selection of cable channels, including multiple HBO channels.

While the rooms, elevator and hallways are very small or narrow, they are extremely well appointed. Understated, tasteful, minimalist decor. Best quality sheets and towels. Tiny but beautiful bathroom. Up to date wall-mounted flat screen television. Excellent sounding iPod docking radio. Street noise kept me from sleeping through the first night of my stay. Friendly, attentive, efficient front desk staff. Lovely little lobby.

After reading some of the reviews, I was very worried that the hotel may be too small. All we needed was a place to crash in the evenings, but some descriptions made it sound like a matchbox. I don't know if our room was the exception or what (room 111), but we were pleasantly surprised when we first saw our room. The bathroom appeared to be recently updated with an awesome shower and plenty of room to move around. The room was small, but what do you expect, it's New York. The bed and linens were very comfortable and clean. The hotel staff was excellent, they were very friendly and answered all of our questions. When we arrived at 10 am our room was not ready so they allowed us to check our bags and we hit the town, no worries. We were literally minutes and a very short walk from the Theater District, Times Square, and Central Park. The subway was less than 2 blocks away and the neighborhood was wonderful. I will definitly stay at the Washington Jefferson again!

I've recentley stayed at the WJ hotel and aside from the rooms being tiny I cant fault the location, cleanliness and service that the WJ offered. If you are looking for a bed for the night (with 100% cotton sheets!) then I would really recommend!

The hotel is comfortable and cool. Its location makes it a great homebase for doing many things around the city. The price was just right.

Smallest room that we have ever stayed in but, for one night it was okay. Bathroom was adequate, but also very small.

The beds in this Hotel sucked!! They were hard mattresses! I couldnt sleep they were so bad. They were totally tiny too. The hotel BESIDES the beds was great. Clean, good neighborhood, close to alot of places,etc....

Hotel is located in an ideal location for Broadway and Times square. Rooms are very small. We ugraded to a Delux at $20 per night this was very small. We asked to be moved as there was no space for cases or sufficient hanging space for clothes. We moved into another Delux room which was bigger.There seems to be no standard size for a Delux room.

I checked-in very late and was put in a room on the first floor in the back. The next day I was able to move to a nicer room on an upper floor and was very pleased.

I was in town for job training and needed a hotel close to Times Square. Fantastic price for the location! The size of the room was very small but comfortable since I was staying there alone. If I have been with someone else it would've been too small.

Normally when I come in to NYC for business or leisure, I normally have to wait for room to be available which means I have to leave my bag till late afternoon and come back late afternoon. In this case, my room was waiting for me and I was given an upgrade even though I arrive at noon. The room was clean and updated with a great bathroom and a room that was well taken care of.

This hotel was absolutely lovely - it was so close to Times Square and had such a quaint atmosphere. I loved my view of the residential street from my window! The rooms are tiny but I was just one person traveling for the night and the pictures told me to expect that. I happen to like small and cozy so it was perfect! The staff was friendly and talkative and kind enough to complimentary upgrade me from a twin to a queen. I wish I could have stayed several more nights! I would definitely stay here again.

Very convenient location for Radio City and many of the theaters. The room was tiny but the front desk staff could not have been friendlier.

We were very happy with the hotel. It is in a very convenient location. It was clean and quaint. The rooms are quite small but fine for two of us with small amount of luggage. The staff was very friendly. We would stay again for a similar price.

After a great deal of research I selected this hotel for it's location which did prove to be very good. My only complaint was with the size of the room, it was really too small for 2 people. Larger rooms are available at an additional cost but I think that should be made clear.
