Airtel Plaza Hotel & Conference Center - Van Nuys

Large room well maintained. Although others have complained about aircraft noise, we did not have any problem as we kept the windows closed and that provided excellent sound cancellation. Also we asked at check in for a room that would minimize any aircraft noise. For those who like to watch aircraft, this is an absolutely excellent hotel as there are some rooms that are practically on the runway, i.e. it is right outside their window. I was upset by the fact that the ice machine did not have an out of order sign, or any note as to where the next one could be found

We thought the restaurant was a little pricey, and none of the vending machines worked but other than that we had a wonderful stay.

I've always wanted to be the first kid on the block to discover something truly unique. Airtel Hotel is just the place. We visit about five stays per year. It is comfortable, has a safe campus, and provides unique entertainment from the annual reunion for "General Hospital" fans and stars, to the state backgammon tournament, to the recent California Mustang Car Show! And if you have the experience of being welcomed by Night Manager Gary, you will feel like one of the celebrities in the vicinity! He has the greatest smile and does everything he can to please. This may not be the hotel for the finicky but it is the hotel for guests requiring comfort, safety, great value, and on-site interest. The adjacent Van Nuys airport observes curfew for good sleep! And the free shuttle to the Van Nuys Flyaway makes the LA airport accessible.

This is a very nice hotel and it is very well maintained. They really take good care of the grounds. The bar is beautiful, very nicely decorated. The restaurant, although I didn't eat there, looked very classy. I spent some time at the pool and I was very impressed with its size and the nice, clean, spacious area surrounding the pool. The staff was very helpful and friendly and they responded immediately to our requests; we received very good service. Even though it is next to an airport, it is amazingly quiet. With the deal we received through Hotel.com, it was well worth the price we paid for our stay and I would recommend this hotel. The only complaint I have is the surcharges. 5.00/day for fridge, same for microwave. 10.00/day for parking. Don't understand why a classy place would have these charges.

The air conditioning is too loud. Many of the vending machines were empty for water. The hotel needs updating.

Plus's, all no-smoking hotel, above average restaurant for food / atmosphere, decent mattress. Negative's, very noisy due to proximity to airport, room furniture looks like acquired from Goodwill Retail Store, carpet grimy (wear slippers, socks or shoes), poor tv reception, desk lighting deficient, thin walls.

You have to pay for parking. Not worth the money. Stay down the street.

The staff at Airtel hotel were very helpful, generous and friendly. I had a problem getting a rental car and the hotel clerk helped me communicate with a deaf friend who was able to meet me. I went to an excellent restaurant that served large portions of food that I wanted to share with friends. The hotel had a worker bring a refrigerator to my room. It was there in 15 minutes and the next day my friends shared in the treat. The hotel is clean and attractive with a nice view from the restaurant. If you visit this hotel, I trust that you will have a pleasant experience.

I spent three nights in this hotel and my stay couldn't have been better. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and most importantly it was quiet. If I am ever in the area again and need a hotel I will definitely stay here!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to any of my friends to stay at. Hotel restaurants were good and also had other food locations conveniently located close by. The room was comfortable and clean, our room was well located.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. The staff is friendly and prompt. Spend the extra $$$ for the free parking and breakfast. It's not just the usual continental fare but a full breakfast in a pleasant atmosphere and parking is spendy. We will stay here again and fly in to Burbank, skipping LAX.

The rooms air conditioner was really noisy, but worked well...it kept my hot flashes at bay all night. I didn't appreciate the fact that parking was not included into the price of the room. Either pay extra or park on the dark street in a not so good area. I was allowed 2 bars of soap (1 each of hand & bath)every other day. The shower was very noisy in my room and room next to me.

It was a fine stay, and very convenient location for my travel. The bed was confortable and the bathroom was decent. The shower was oddly tilted (I had nowhere to leave my soap) and the water pressure sucked, but it was a cheap rate, so what more could I ask for.

I usually stay in hotels like motel 6 so when I was planning my recent trip to L.A. I wanted to do something different. I wanted to stay at a nice hotel without paying an outrageous price. I was able to find this with the Airtel Plaza Hotel. I have to agree with other guests, who have left their reviews, that they have great customer service. The staff is very friendly. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. I especially loved the bed linens. My mom can be picky when it comes to beds and even she said she was able to sleep well. I have to say that this was a great stay!

The hotel was just okay. You have to pay for parking ($10/day), microwave ($5/day) and refrigerator ($5/day). All these extra charges add up that you can probably stay at a nicer hotel for the same price. What I liked about this hotel was that it was quiet.

We always love to stay at this hotel because of the quality of service and its convenient location. The greatest irritation is the daily parking fee, when there is really no option to parking a car there. Unless you own a plane, in which case the parking is free. But the staff are fantastic and the atmosphere is always warm and friendly.

This is a pretty good hotel with a great bar and if you enjoy airplanes there is some areas where you can watch the aircraft come and go. The place is a little bit run-down, it seems, but the rooms are nice, large and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. My only big gripe is that they still make you pay $10 for parking! What a complete sham. Decent hotel, though, and for the money it was a good place to spend a couple of nights.

I enjoyed to getting a low rate for high quality service.

I was a bit worried about noise at this hotel as the location is right next to the Van Nuys airport. However this was not an issue as the private planes that utilize this airport are not flying in or out at all hours of the night. In the three days I spent at this hotel, I only heard the planes a few times. The room was nice and comfortable, though the air conditioner did rattle a bit. I also got little natural light in the room as my window faced the wall of the ajoining building. But they were able to check me in a few hours early, which was wonderful since I had a wedding to go to that afternoon. I recommend booking the SUPER SAVER packages though, especially if you have a car, as parking is $10 a day here. The super saver packages include parking and breakfast (which was really good), and are generally around $10 more per night.

Nice hotel and really nice staff. Jennifer in food and beverage was awesome. They also let the bride and groom have a very late check out so they could get some rest!

We stay here often because of the reasonable rates, good breakfast buffet, comfortable beds/linens, cleanliness, and it is fun to see the airplanes.

Excellent service, front dest service was great. Room was clean and nice. We did not do much, it was one night stay only. Do recommend this hotel.

I was very satisfied with its outstanding customer service. Some of the best I've experienced. The staff is informative, polite and helpful. Rooms are clean and very well kept. Great amenities - pool, spa, gym and restaurant. The food is very good. Location is great for Van Nuys Airport and Mid-San Fernando Valley access. I highly recommend the Airtel to others and plan to visit it again in the future.

The room was clean and very comfortable. The only thing lacking was a refrigerator in the room. Other than that, we had a pleasant stay and will stay there again.

The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel had plenty of room for meeting business associates. Great value for the money.

The room was very nice and big. We had our two kids with us and there was plenty of room for the four of us. The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in that area.

We enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint was that our room had a stale musky odor. It smelled like it had been closed & unused for a long time.

I had expected that this hotel would be an average hotel, near the airport and at a reasonable price. I found an exceptional hotel, with excellent service, very comfortable rooms and no evidence of the noise that one would expect being right next to the airport and runway.Most of all, it was very affordable in a city that charges too much for its hotels.

While the location is excellent, right next door to Ban Nuuys Airport, the condition of the rooms is subpar.

My week long stay was very comfortable. The staff at the Airtel is fantastic, always efficient and they consider the needs of the customer as their top priority. The restaurant is very good also. If have to come back to Van Nuys, I will definitely stay at the Airtel.

The rooms were large and modern, so when staying in Van Nuys it's terrific. However, it was further away from most of the "touristy" things to see than I thought. Sometimes for convenience sake, it's better to pass up a deal. Nice stay nonetheless. Internet was $3 minimum, a little pricey if you just want to check your messages. Parking was easy, there was a charge, but you could come and go as you pleased.

We found this hotel here on hotels.com and decided to give it a try based on the positive reviews, and we're glad we did. Great place to stay for the money. Perfect centralized location, big rooms, nice staff, very comfortable beds. We reserved a room with a king size bed, but when we got there they didn't have any available. Instead of putting us in a room with a queen bed, they upgraded us to a King Suite! Also, couldn't even tell we were right next to the Van Nuys airport either. Would definitely stay here again and plan to on our next trip down to LA

The customer service was great, Gary at the front desk called us when we got to our room to make sure everything was ok with the room.

I this is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I have 2 kids that have gone to CSUN and this hotel is a convenient place to stay plus it is very comfortable and nice for the price. We stopped in the bar for a quick drink and were served promptly by a very nice bartender. The front desk was very helpful. Even though the hotel backs up to the airport, I haven't heard any noise. The only complaint is that people tend to park up the front check-in parking so it can be difficult to find a place to park while you check-in.
