Impeccable service and great location. You're right on the Grand Canal and around the corner from St. Mark's square and the Bridge of Sighs. They even have a complimentary boat you can take to Lido if you want to head to the beach or pool! This hotel was the most lavish one we stayed in in our 3 week trip to Italy. You really feel like you are in a palace, with the ornate floors, Murano chandeliers, and all of the ornate details! We were also incredibly lucky to be offered a complimentary upgrade, and we were given a room with a view of the grand canal! Beautiful! Even though we were right above the busy street that runs along the canal, noise was never a problem, and we slept quite nicely. The sheets they use are actual linen, so I found them to be a little rough (I also had a sunburn...) but other than that, I thought it was perfect!

The hotel is amazing - very beautiful and the service is good. The one unfortunate fact, though, was that even though I paid extra for a king bed we got two twins pushed together - very uncomfortable.

This is IT! The history, the grand 4 story entrance, the locale, and the dizzying array of architectural wonder and art pieces are simply stunning. We stayed for two nights in a lovely room overlooking a small canal underneath our balcony-top floor-and had a diagonal view out to the Grand Canal- every tourists dream locale I believe, while staying in Venice. The staff was sincere and very helpful. The room itself decorated in Venician splendor w/ a chandelier over the bed- the antique setting not without the great modern conveniences of flat screen tv, internet access and hairdryer- the room itself cleaned 2x a day! The locale on the Grand Canal was the best- we were able to access San Marco square within steps- we walked everywhere and highly reccommend the tour of the palace and Basillica of San Marco- not to be believed! We walked over the "Bridge of Sighs" in the palace.. The lobby bar was great and we had the special drink of the hotel-great! We traveled throughout Northern Italy this trip and felt we couldn't do any better than our previous locale....but this hotel did it and we'll very fondly remember our time at the infamous and spectacular Danielli hotel!

When we arrived we were upgraded to a huge room with comforts fit for royalty. When we told the concierge that we were on our 25th anniversary, he immediately sent up complimentary champagne and rich chocolates! We indulged in massages in our room and were in heaven. The view of the Grand Canal was spectacular from our room and the hotel is located next to San Marco Square. This is my 3rd time in Venice and by far the best experience! Very Romantic!

I booked two nights for my wife's 50th birthday. We have stayed in Venice many times and always dreamed about staying at the famous Danieli. Sadly it was a bit of a let-down. Right from the beginning we were left waiting at an unattended checkin desk. Then, the room itself was nothing special, with a cracked mirror and decaying bathroom cabinet. The "king-size" bed was two single beds pushed together. Overall, "faded grandeur" is the theme. For the fantastic nightly rate that I paid, I expected more. On the plus side, the bar and concierge staff were more friendly. Also the communal areas are spectacular - but you can see most of them without actually staying at the hotel!

The Danielli is a grand palace in historic venice and it lives up to it billing. The common areas of the hotel are breath takingly ornate just like in the pictures. The location being yards away from San Marco is another big plus. We stayed in the premium delux double room without Grand Canal view in the old building in the back next to a side canal on the 3rd floor. The view was charming with tiled roofs of adjacent buildings and a church in the distance. We can hear some noise from the canal in the morning but being on the 3rd floor minimized the noise. The size of the room was acceptable. Real Murano chandliers hung from the ceiling. The bed is typical of Itlay where 2 double beds are pushed together to form a queen size bed. We never liked that arrangement. The bath room had marble but was not particularly luxurious looking. Personal bath robes were provided. All in all, I am not impressed with the room we stayed in for the price. However, the interior of the the common area of the hotel was the envy of other tourists who didn't stay here.

Exceptional. As good as it gets. What an experience. Most staff friendly and highly professional, although one of the concierge's staff, after having graced us with a glance down his nose upon our arrival, deemed himself too good for our group. He is a late fiftyish gentleman with half-long curly grey hair. Don't let him annoy you. After all, he is staff. The usual cost of services is very high, a glass of wine in the lobby bar € 13 - € 19, and hotel breakfast was out of reach for us. But if you can afford it, go for it!
