We stayed here on our honeymoon, in one of the rooms on the second floor overlooking the Grand Canal. It was perfect! We loved the antique furniture, and it was incredible opening the shutters and the french windows onto the Grand Canal. There was a tiny balcony you can't stand on but can sit on and read a book, if you like. We felt like we were living in a palace - for good reason! The breakfast buffet is very good and the coffee was excellent! Each morning we would arrive early to snag one of the tables on the terrace overlooking the canal. What a perfect start to the day. The concierge was very helpful in making our dinner reservations each evening, spoke perfect English, and tolerated our poor Italian. We had a perfect stay and will gladly stay here again next time we're in Venice.

The Hotel was in a very convenient location - close enough to everything yet far enough away from the crazy busy touristy areas. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. We got to the hotel about 2 hours before check-in. They stored our luggage for us and when we returned to the hotel, told us that they had had to upgrade us to a better room. We did not get to see the room we were supposed to have had, but our room was beautiful - very comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was wonderful - full breakfast. On the day we checked out, they let us store our luggage again for the entire day. I would highly recommend this hotel and already did!!! My sister and brother-in-law will be staying there in September.

We totaly enjoyed our stay. The service and breakfast was very good. You can walk everywhere once you get there. One tip...take a water taxi to the hotel once you get to Venice. The water bus is good but there are lots of steps to climb with luggage if you don't get delivered to the front door. Other than that I would go back to Hotel San Cassiano Ca'Favretto for sure!!

This Hotel is very difficult to find on foot. Although walking through several small corridors (Mazes) and asking several people who speak a little English (My fault I know, I should have studied my Italian before We arrived). We finally arrived after 20 minutes walking from the Rialto bridge. (Its only 5 minutes away) But the view from the terrace was breath taking and we had three kids ages 5, 6 and 12 and we had a Quad-room four single beds :-)) We loved this room and a beautiful painting on the ceiling. Although, our room overlooked the courtyard and some rooms over looked the Grand canal. But we didn't complain we found out that this Hotel didn't have an elevator :-(( and our room was on the third floor. We laughed all the way to the top as we were out of breath as well. This Hotel is approximately 600 years old according to the staff. Oh! We had a bathroom (Very clean) inside our room. Many Hotel of this era located in Italy (Europe) you have to share bathrooms. The breakfast was included in the price of this room. And yes. the breakfast was very tasty no complaints. This is an ideal Hotel to stay while in Venice. I would recommend this Hotel to others and explain the walking directions better. If you have extra euros to spend you can take a water taxi from the airport directly to the Hotel 110 euros. So, overall I would give this Hotel 3.5 stars.

Very pleased with this hotel! The first room assigned was a multi-room suit, the air condition in the master room was not cooling as it should. Once staff noticed they immediately acted to move us to the only other 4 person room available (one large room) Although suite was not as nice as the 1st (seperate room for adults from kids on the 1st floor vs 1 large room on the 3rd room with steep steps)it was still cool when we arrived each afternoon. Breakfast was very nice each morning with eggs and meat....a real plus. Great central location on the Grand Canal. Definitely recommend.

We booked the "Family Room" at this hotel. This hotel exceeded out expectations. We expected a smaller room with a very small bathroom and both were quite large for europeon standards. The Hotel was within walking distance from the S. Sta water taxi station. We were able to walk to the Rialto Bridge within 10 mins. There were many restaurants and Gelato stores near by. We would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone traveling with children. The only draw back was there was no elevator in the hotel. However, the family room we had was located on the second floor. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I shared a triple room with 3 friends. As others have commented, the hotel is a little difficult to find at first. If you have a lot of luggage it can be tough getting off the vaporetto and lugging it over 3 bridges (pedestrian bridges are made of steps, not a platform). We ended up springing for a watertaxi on the return to the train station. much more convenient, but expensive. in every other way the hotel is wonderful. there is a great terrace on the grand canal and another in the breakfast room. My dad would be impressed with the included breakfast and so will you. This is a lovely place to stay, and be sure to eat at the restaurant around the corner Antica Giardenetta is the best we found in all Venice.

The reviews of this hotel certainly reflect accurately what you will get and it is all for a reasonable price. Quiet - only a small number of rooms, helpful efficient staff, rooms are small but clean. The location is excellent: 45 mins from the airport, right on the Grand Canal (if you don't get a room with a canal view the small decking provides a nice canalside view for drinks), it is a very short walking distance to the popular Rialto Bridge area where there is a market, restaurants, gondoliers and narrow streets with shops. The water bus stop is similarly close for the 20 minute trip to St Mark's Square and a 30 minute trip to the Lido beach. Hotel drinks are very reasonably priced - far cheaper than restaurants. Breakfast has plenty of choice. A great choice, all other guests that we spoke with were also happy with their choice.

We arrived at the the hotel San Cassiano Ca'Favretto by private water taxi from Marco Polo airport which was very exciting. The rooms were clean, spacious and well appointed with excellent air conditioning. the reception and bar staff were very helpful and polite offering touristy information without us even asking for it! Breakfast is served in a lovely sundrenched room overlooking the canal and the balcony downstairs overlooking the canal was great for drinks int he afternoon. The Rialto bridge was a short walk away and we were close enough for it to be convenient, but far enough away for our sleep to be blissfully quiet and not interrupted by any church bells one down side is that we were on the 3rd floor of a building with very high ceilings and there was no lift.

My wife and I chose this hotel because of it's proximity to all the main sites that we wished to visit during our stay. The Rialto Bridge was less than 5 minutes away and St Marks Square only another 5 minutes after that. The beauty of this hotels location is that you are away from the main area's of Venice and able to explore and find delightful shops and restaurants in the narrow streets, but you never feel as if you are lost as you only have to head for the Grand Canal to get your bearings. the staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful all the time. we were there during Carneval and all the staff were dressed in period costume for the duration of it. I would definately recommend this hotel to anybody visiting Venice.

The Hotel San Cassiano Ca'Favretto needs definetely some great updating. Me and my partner have just returned from Venice and stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. We booked the Superior room and were expecting it to look superior. But unfortunately our room was nothing like superior. The floor was about 15 degrees falling to the side and so the TV looked like falling from the fridge whenever we looked at it. The bathroom door did not shut completely for the same reason. When my partner openned the bedside table, there were some staines in it as well as the side of it was celetaped. The mirror on the wall had nice golden frame but was also very old and full of stains. The size of a room was just standard, so I do not know why they called it superior. The view we had was looking to someone else's house accross the narrow canal. Also the room was cold as apparantly the heating is not turned on in Venice untill the 1st November. But we found the way to worm ourselve up. The breakfast was reasonable, not too big in a choice but tasty enough to keep us going for some time. The staff was alos reasonably friendly. I would say if I do not look at the room itself the holiday was great overall but I would not go to stay in San Cassiano again at all!

Everything about this hotel was great. It's location is excellent: it is a 5-10 minute walk from the Rialto bridge, and therefore 15-20 mins from St Mark's Square. This is a good walking distance but keeps you away from the crowds. It is a 10 min walk from the station and less than 5 mins from a vaporetto stop, so it is easy to get around. It is on a very quiet narrow street with its own beautiful courtyard. The entrance is surprisingly grand. Our room - we paid a little extra for a 'superior' room - was extremely spacious, with excellenty decord and bathroom. The breakfast room was lovely, providing the opportunity to look out over the grand canal as you ate. Service was polite and helpful at all times.
