The Villa Borghese is a excellent hotel with a very courteous and accommodating staff. The rooms are tastefully decorated and provide all the amenities that one expects from a 5-Star Hotel. The staff is exceptional; the on-going assistance that was provided in helping us recover lost airline luggage went above and beyond the norm. I would recommend the hotel without reservation.

The Sofitel had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Quiet room, good ammenities, good decor'. My only beef,I was certain the breakfast was included but came to find out that it was not-after we had already eaten. ($75 USD)On a brighter note, the staff realized it was my 40th birthday and gave me a very nice passport holder (leather) as well as a coupon for two free drinks at the 7th floor outdoor bar and restaraunt. By the way, the view from the 7th floor bar is outstanding but the service was beyond slow. The staff seemed more interested in chatting with one another than in serving us. All in all I'd go back to the Sofitel for sure.

The Rome Villa Borghese was everything that you would expext from a Sofitel. However, if you are looking to stay in a hotel that exhudes old-world romance, this is not the one. The building is an old mansion, however it appears the entire interior was gutted, leaving it architectually unintersting. I would stay elsewhere the next time I am in Rome, just for that reason

The hotel is located in a fairly quiet street and we had no problems sleeping even in the heat and bustle of Rome in August. Its not a hotel with a huge number of facilities but it has a pleasant, intimate feel for a high class hotel. What is there is of a high standard, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The standard of the hotel food is very high in room service and especially on the lovely rooftop terrace which has excellent views out to St Peters. The hotel is easy walking distance to Spanish Steps and other sights, but the walk back is hard as it is on a hill. If that's no problem or you use the occasional taxi then we would certainly recommend this as a home from home.

We stayed in the Villa Borghese for three nights and we couldn't have been happier. This hotel is located right next to Borghese Park and in a tree-lined, quiet, and chic part of the city. There are excellent cafes and bars and expensive shopping, and there is a metro stop a few blocks over. The beds were very comfortable, the air conditioner worked perfectly, the room was large and very clean and well maintained, and the roof-top tapas bar has one of the best views in the entire city. We would surely stay there again!

Our room was great, the bathroom was large compared to most European hotels. The front desk arranged our tour to the Vactican which was priceless. The Via Vento was around the block with easy access, and lots of dining choices. I would stay there again, which we plan to do.

The staff was very well informed about restaurants and points of interest and all were very accommodating and willing to spend time answering questions. The hotel is relatively small and a little difficult to get to by car. The upside is that the neighborhood is very quiet while being close to the Spanish Steps and the Via Veneto.

We stayed at the Sofitel Rome for 4 days at the end of October. We were amazed at the beautiful entrance hall and public rooms and very pleased with the helpfulness of the doormen and front desk. Our room was on the 5th floor and of a good size and beautifully decorated and furnished. Very comfortable bed and a nice little table and chairs, a minibar and (old) television, plenty of storage space, a safe and aircon. We overlooked the street but no traffic noise when the windows were shut. good black out curtain as well. The bathroom was a good size and clean and well equipped. There is a business centre on the ground floor with PCs and printers and the 1 hour free use was appreciated. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful, would have liked to be able to make a hot drink in the room and the breakfast was expensive but no significant downsides. The area just a short walk up from the Spanish Steps was quiet and safe and there are a number of good restaurants locally. All in all a great hotel and I would stay again.

This hotel was one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The service was outstanding, the food amazing, the room beautiful and the views incredible. The price may turn off some budget travelers but those willing to spend a few extra dollars won't be dissapointed. Everyone spoke english so we were able to get a lot of useful local information from the staff. It was about a 10 minute slow walk to the Spanish Steps so the location was another plus. The walk home is mostly up hill but this wasn't a problem for anyone we met at the hotel.

Room was perfect - large, high ceilings, marble bath, super comfortable bed. Relatively quiet as well, with views overlooking a villa. Staff was outstanding and helpful. The only minor criticism was the insistence of some European hotels, and in particular French ones, to use a single half pane of glass shielding the bathtub instead of a proper door or curtain, resulting in water everywhere after a shower.

I would highly recommend this Hotel. Our room was very nicely decorated, the location was terrific(a short walk to key sites but in a quiet neighborhood up the hill from the crowded areas), the roof top terrace of the Hotel was truly a gem. We had drinks up there every night before we went out for dinner. The staff was very helpful. Lots of good restaurants nearby, just ask the front desk for a reco. We had a great stay.

This is a beautiful hotel located on a quite street close to the Spanis Steps and Via Veneto. The walk to the Spanish Steps is about 5 minutes, and from there you can access all the major streets that will take you to all the sites in the city of Rome. The hotel staff was always friendly, easy to communicate with - they all speak English - and ready to serve you. The room was always clean, the bathrooms are large. If you request a smoking room you will get a room on the 6th floor, with a small balcony. Great view from the 7th floor terrace. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sofitel Roma. The hotel location is good - close to the tourist attractions of Rome and good shopping, but remote enough to be quiet and peacetful. The hotel staff was very kind and helpful and our room was comfortable and spacious (for European hotels). The furnishings were in good condition, practical and charming. My only complaints were that the pillows were not the most comfortable (feather pillows would be nice) and that the shower leaked at the corner where the glass joined the tub and we had quite a bit of water on our bathroom floor when we used the shower. The Sofitel is really a nice hotel despite a few minor issues. The breakfast is great, the staff is kind and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Very nice staff and very helpful with tips and directions. Pleasant room and close to the calm and beautiful Villa Borghese Park. Not any noise or disturbances. It does require some walking on hills and stairs to get back and forth from the metro and the old central part of Rome though. PS: Beware of your payment at the hotel bar on top of the building (7th floor). I have after my return to Denmark noticed that they charged me 3x30 Euros for 2 drinks as the waitress said that my credit card and PIN did not go through two times -now the amount has been withdrawn three times from my VISA-card.
