Wyndham Chicago - Chicago

The hotel is really central and is just a block away from the mag mile. We arrived late and were happy to find we had been upgraded to a suite. The hotel is clean but is a little dated. Still based on the location it is a good choice.

Hotel is in great location to explore the city. Room was clean with a very large comfy bed, although it was difficult to get the room temperature just right. This was not a big deal as we did not stay in the room much. Did not use the restaurant so unable to comment.Conciege was very helpful for local knowledge. Booked a twin room, but on arrival was allocated a room with just a queen. They were unable to change for that night but if we were prepared to move the next night (stayed for 4 nights, August 09) they could find a room. Did not want hassle so stuck with the room we had. Told that room preference not booked direct with the hotel cannot be guaranteed! Would definitely recommend hotel for location.

Nice hotel, great location...The only issue we had was there was no key to open the bar. Decided we didn't want anything from it anyway.

After a fairly unpleasant experience on Greyhound, I found my room at the Wyndham to be an extremely pleasant experience. Check in was quick and the staff were very friendly. The room was one of the best I've stayed in and the first to have a mini bar. (The front desk even asked if I wanted the key.)

The first thing we noticed about the hotel was the smell in the lobby, it smelled liked coconut. Delicious! They checked us in very early, no problem. The room was simple and comfortable. The concierges' were for the most part helpful but I did have to ask 3 different ones for a bar to watch a game and never received any options. The location was great, we walked everywhere. We had a great breakfast around the corner at the West Egg and an unbelievable dinner at the Chicago Chop House. A hotel can really make or break your trip and we made a great choice.

We needed a one-night layover in downtown Chicago and the location for the money was great. WiFi is not free. Indoor pool is hard to find.

Beware of extras costs for parking and wireless internet access. They can significantly increase your nightly rate.

Nice place very close too manny things

Check the bill, when we went to check in they tried to charge us for parking that we had already paid for. Then they put a bill under the door the next morning for parking again. Then on check out they tried to charge us for some movies. We didn't even stay in our room, except to sleep. Check the bill twice or three times. Other then that, the hotel was nice and the staff was great!

Wonderful hotel at a great price. Very close to magnificent mile and walking distance to Navy Pier. Concierge were extremely helpful.

My family and I had a wonderful time at the Wyndham Chicago. The location is great and all of the sights and sounds of Chicago are within easy walking distance. The rooms are quite comfortable and there are plenty of elevators so you are never left waiting. Overall, highly recommended.

I'm from a smaller area and was a little nervous about coming to Chicago and was very surprised to arrive and get such great customer service. Everybody that worked there was very nice to me. They made me feel right at home. Thank You

Overall the hotel is fantastic. The people at the concierge desk are so helpful. One problem. The hotel is next to a noisy hospital. If you are on a high floor and away from the hospital, as I was, the hotel is great.

Overall experience was excellent just the valet parking charges were a bit much.

I went to Chicago to attend a conference that was held at the Wyndham. The hotel had blocked off a number of rooms at a reduced rate for attendees of the conference. The price I paid for my room was less than the group rate that was charged to conference attendees who registered directly with the hotel. I also picked up 3 credits in the welcomerewards program.

Great hotel. One block from the heart of the "Mag." Mile. Hotel was very nice, comfortable and located in the heart of the shopping and business district. Polished and professional staff made this property one great value for the price.

The hotel itself was wonderful. Swimming pool and whirlpool temperatures were great. And easy walking distance to many shopping points. We do wish, though, that car parking rates had been specifically mentioned for us ahead of time, in connection with the hotel.

When calling the valet service, men working were disorganized. They could not find my car at first, and they were somewhat rude during the four interactions with them. I got valet parking included in my hotel room purchase, but I was wrongfully charged for parking. The people working at the desk of the hotel were amazing. They took care of the bill for parking, and they were very polite with everything I needed help with. I would have no complaints with this hotel had I taken the train to Chicago and did not have to deal with the parking at the hotel.

We always stay at this hotel when we're in town on business. Great location, service, and cleanliness for the price. The one time I had an issue with the alarm clock, it was solved within 5 minutes. The concierge desk is amazing, esp for those here on vacation. Would certainly recommend - though I wish they had a pool outside. Would love to get a tan in between meetings!

Very close to Michigan ave. and many restaurants. Many sirens due to the hospital nearby. Many places to eat breakfast nearby. Great stay!

Great location central to shopping, theater, events, museums, etc.

The location of this hotel was fantastic! Being a block off Michigan Avenue we were close to everything, but it as not as noisy as staying on Michigan Avenue. The hotel staff was courteous and helpful, and the rate we got through hotels.com was very reasonable. The room was average size for a nice hotel, but the bathroom and closet were larger than most. The only bad thing I can say about this hotel is that the water presure in the shower was terrible. I don't know if it is bad throughout the hotel or if we just had a bad shower.

Housekeeping arrived at 9:00 am, we were not ready so we let her know that we were going to be out of the room by 10:30 am. She told us no problem but when we returned at night about 10:00 PM the room was not cleaned, beds, trash everything was the way we left it, I called room service, they send a housekeeper but when she knoked the door and I opened her only words were "I supposed to go home know" she did not say hello or anything else. She picked up the trash, left clean towels, and that's it, she said "I don't have time to make the beds is not my fault the first shift did not make their job fine. and she left.

My room on the 7th floor had a noisy pipe that kept me awake and alert during the first night, but by the second night I was more comfortable as I was used to the noise. My fellow travelers enjoyed their room.

The Wyndam Chicago is a perfect location - only 1/2 block from Michigan Ave and public transporation to museums, etc. - plus you can walk to Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue shopping and restaurants. Our room was wonderful and the entire staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and we would stay there again.

Down comforters and pillows are a luxury to some and a hazard waiting to happen to others. If you suffer an allergy to down call ahead and have them take it out of your room--putting it in the closet wasn't enough for me. They were quick to remedy the problem with a foam pillow and standard blanket.

The hotel rate is excellent along with location. The room is clean, but the hotel could use some updating. Room carpeting was nice but the hallway carpeting felt dirty. Staff was very service oriented. Hotel is near hospital so sirens going all night. Also, the walls between rooms are very thin so you hear every noise your neighbors make. Some neighbors had no regard for others and screamed and hollared until I called security to please ask them to be quiet.

Extremely accomodating

Very nice hotel! We stayed with our two children and wanted a hotel close to Navy Peir with a pool/hot tub! Thae pool was the only thing we were dissapointed in! It is very small! The hot tub was nice but pool was a lot smaller than I thought it would be for such a big hotel! Very nice steam room and sauna. The rooms were very nice and clean. Loved the bath and body soaps in the bathrooms, that was a nice touch. Will stay here again!

Loved this hotel stay!!!The room was very bright - so you would be able to tell if it was clean or not. It was very clean and looked like it had been recently renovated. The staff helped out with every request.

Enjoyed our stay tremendously! We were shocked only by the cost of cocktails in the hotel lounge; other than that, awesome.

My family with young children loved our stay at the Wyndham. The location was just perfect; we could walk to Navy Pier and Michigan Avenue. We were up on the highest floor of the hotel and didn't hear any of the hospital noise that others have complained about. The room was a very good size and and the bedding was luxurious! The pool was small but good enough, and they did have a whirlpool, sauna, & steam room. Easy check-in and out. I hope to get another similar rate in the future because we'd love to stay again, but I think we got really lucky with our deal.

The hotel was very nice and a perfect location. I was surprised that the card I used to secure the room through Hotel.com was the only payment allowed. I intended to use another card and was not allowed to switch them. Other than that my stay was fantastic.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a centrally located hotel, one block from Michigan Ave, so all the shop's and sightseeing is on your door step. The on ly disappointment with this hotel was the noise from the emergency vehicles, do to the fact that the ER was oposite the hotel. It wasn't all day and night but is was very annoying sometimes. The conceirge staff were amazing they really knew everything that was asked of them, one of them recommended a spa close to the hotel, which we were all very pleased with. The hotel pool is not much to write home about.
