This place is in the heart of Manchester, in one of its most beautiful buildings. It's worth is just for that. It's not perfect; reception never seems to have enough people working so there's always a wait. Our room key kept on de-magnetizing for no reason we could figure out and we were constantly having to get it re-programmed. There are very few tv channels avaialable. They're kind of stingy with the towels. Still, I recommend it because of the amazing building and the location, if the price is right.

Comentado por A, deIpswich, el sep 3, 2009
We booked this hotel as it appeared to be in an ideal location for many reasons. I had Manchester United tickets with my friend so getting to and from the stadium was fairly easy. Our wife's also tagged along but did not go to the game and went shopping instead. The shops and shopping centres were also was very close by and only a short walk away which suited them to the ground. They also enjoyed the use of the hotel spa. Eating out was good. We dinned in the evening very close by in a fantastic Italian restaurant up the road from the hotel called Don Giovannis which was amazing and also very well priced!! definately recommended. We felt the breakfast at the hotel was quite expensive so i would advice not to pre-book this as there are some lovely cafes across the street from the hotel that serve great full English breakfasts for less than a fiver and they were lovely!! The hotel rooms were very nice, very clean and spacious and very comfortable. The Hotel staff were very helpful and polite and were happy to advise us with directions etc... There is no parking at the Hotel due to its excellent central location. However you can leave your car in the nearby secure NCP for £15 per night or you can do what we did and leave the car with the Hotel who provide an excellent valet service and take your car for you and pick it up for and extra £5 each way. We really enjoyed our stay here and would go back again. Thanks.

The Midland Hotel is well located near Manchester Central Library. From the outside the building doesn't look that wonderful but the interior is lovely. We arrived at about midnight and found our room had been upgraded from standard to Deluxe, which was a very welcome surprise. The deluxe room was excellent, a huge bed (2 double matresses wide) large flatscreen TV, separate luggage/dressing area, nice bathroom etc. The hotel had posted signs that there could be large queues at breakfast and advising guests to arrive pre 9am. Indeed this was correct, we got seated quickly but by about 9.30 there was a large queue. We did however, have to call down for to ask for our room to be cleaned and the turn down service we requested never happened. The Midland advertises its Cream Teas, we were told that they only had 2 of these left when we placed our order- some people could have been disappointed and missed out on this tasty treat. The gym has a good range of equipment and the pool was very nice and clean. It was however a little small and so to have room for a good swim you really had to be one of only about 3 people in the water!

Good location esp for the conference centre and lots or restaurants withina few minutes walk. The hotel was overall very good - the room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The air con was a bit in the noisy side and you couldn't open the windows. My only critisism would be that from all the hotel info I had the impression that internet access was free but in fact it was quite expensive (£15 per day) so I

We stayed the weekend at the Midland as we were going to see Oasis at Heaton park and I have only praise for the hotel. We were greated by helpful and friendly reception staff, the rooms were modern and very clean and the leisure club facilities spot on. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that (a £10 price for breakfast, usually £15 was a little off putting) but everything else about the hotel was top draw and we would certainly go back.

The staff throughout the hotel were professional, polite and very helpful. The hotel location is excellent and there is a tram stop just outside. We had dinner in the Terrace restaurant and the food was excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel for both the accommodation and food. 5 stars for the staff who were fantastic. It was a real pleasure to stay here.

This was the second time I have stayed at The Midland both for leisure and have not been disappointed. You could not ask for a better location being very close to the city centre. The staff were very helpful on both occasions, very good service. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Overall- excellent.

I don't like air conditioning so it would have been more pleasant if I could have opened the windows to let some air in, especially at night. I would definately recommend it. Excellent recommendation to the Little Ying Sing chinese restaurant, although the directions were a bit hazy!

This is a good honest 4 star hotel which we will continue to use when coming to Manchester for a weekend away. The restaurant is very nice, not cheap but worth it for a special occasion the service is traditional and very good, the food has always been excellant when we have eaten there. If you want a fair priced better than average hotel in the centre of Manchester you won't be disappointed

Great location and impressive Facade. We were given a tastefully decorated room on the Mezzanine Floor. The Leisure facilities were in the basement looked dull and uninviting but clean. The pool was small. Apart from that, staff were very friendly and the rest of the Hotel was impressive.

Stayed at this hotel in Jan 09 on a weekend trip to Manchester, ideally located near GMEX ( Manchester Centrel) and very close to MEN arean - we were going to see Strictly Come Dancing. Did not dine here but restaurant came highly recommended, maybe next time. Very stately and comfrotable. Reception staff very friendly and the concierge was excellent with information. Would highly recommend it.

The Midland Manchester is a top quality hotel bang in the heart of the city. We were taken aback on entering the hotel lobby, it is luxurious and very impressive, the photos on the website do not do it justice. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying over in Manchester for a match or a weekend break.

Just from the hotel lobby you can tell that The Midland is a place of quality. Check-in was seamless with efficient and friendly, but not fawning or false staff. Room was large, spotlessly clean and in an excellent state of repair. Very effective air conditioning was a bit wasted it being a wet weekend in January, but I can imagine in the summer it would be most welcome. Location is great, easy walking distance from the main attractions, within easy walking distance of Piccadilly and the main car parks, and its opposite St Peter’s Square tram stop. If only all hotels were like the Midland.

The hotel is in a great location and within easy walking distance to shops, reatauarants, bars, etc. My room was both spacious and clean and I was also lucky enough to get a great view. The staff were polite and helpful and always available to help. This is an excellent choice of hotel and I will definitely stay here again when I next stay in Manchester

Comentado por A, deDublin, el ene 5, 2009
Overall we were not very happy with the hotel, however the location was great. We were on the 4th floor and the room was very small and cold, and the decor wasn't great. There was condensation trapped between the double glazing (so no view), there was an electric plug in heater because it was so cold, we had to request an iron each day and the mini bar wasn't refilled over our 3 day stay. We were overcharged by £189 on leaving with no apology – just “we’ll do you up another bill”. It seemed as though someone was chancing their arm!!

I booked this hotel for my husbands birthday as we had concert tickets for Bridgewater Hall (just across the road!). The receptionist upgraded us to a superior room. Was fantastic. Hotel staff all very helpful and very courteous. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed 2 nights for business, was happy overall although breakfast not great considering price. However next 2 nights (family joined me) were dreadful - they stuffed up booking and we had to move to smaller room - staff quite resentful about whole thing even though their mistake. And despite paying in advance was required to give a £200 deposit, still had to pay for room service by cash!

Hotel location is perfect, just on peter's square. You can walk everywhere, and the tram is just outside the door. Rooms are clean and tidy, a little bit smaller than your average hotel room, but it's actually fine in size, lets face it you don't need an apartment. Pool and Leisure area a plus. Only downside was concierge and staff didnt' seem that knowledgable of the local area, we were just lucky that we stumbled across a few things, for example when we asked where we could go for a sunday pub lunch, they didn't know, esp seen as the hotel themselves no longer do sunday lunch. All in all, i enjoyed my stay here, and would stay again.

It tool my colleague & I 30mins to locate the hotel, 20mins longer than needed, not because of poor directions and distance but pourly because we did not think this was the hotel we had booked. The website does not do it justice. Impressive entrance and very spacious lobby. Wide ranges of services available including several dinning choices, gym, swimming, beauty treatments, bars etc, which I plan to excercise more of, on my return. The staff members we encountered were very helpful, courtious, and professtional. Very centrally located, ideal for shopping, entertainment and attending matches at the near by Old Trafford Stadium.

Welcome relaxing environment with friendly helpful staff. The room was a delight as whilst it was not the most modern it retains the quiet ambiance so rarely found hotels built today. Ample space, and oh what a pleasure to find the sheets correctly folded ready for a guest.

THIS HOTEL IS VERY ELEGANT AND RIGHT IN THE CITY CENTRE. IT WAS CONVENTIENT TO DOWNTOWN MANCHESTER AND THERE WAS A TRAM OUTSIDE THE HOTEL. THE STAFF WAS COURTEOUS. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE ABOUT THIS HOTEL IS THAT THE BEDS WERE TOO HARD FOR THAT NICE OF A HOTEL. OTHER THAN THAT, THIS PLACE WAS GREAT
