Golden Tulip Amsterdam-Zaandam - Zaanstand

I had never been to the Amsterdam area before and in going I went alone and for only one day as i returned from a trip to South Africa. This hotel was recommended to me by people who fly with various airlines as it is where they are put up while they wait to fly back to their origin. While the hotel is about 15k's from downtown it is the closest hotel to the main trains in the amsterdam area. the walk from the train station to the hotel was barely 200 meters making it perfect for someone who had 3 weeks worth of clothes as well as accumulated souvenoirs. I would definately stay at the same place again should I happen to find myself in the Amsterdam area again in the future.

We are disappointed because we had been led to believe it included breakfast -- both from the website and from the clerk on duty when we checked in. When we checked out (with another clerk), she said her colleague "had made a mistake".

We chose this hotel for the convenience of being close to the railway station and other amenities, we found the staff very helpful and friendly, our room extremely comfortable, our only complaint was breakfast far too expensive, we ate only the one morning because we felt 15 euros per person a little too much, under 10euros would have encouraged us to use it every morning, we bought the makings for a continental breakfast and the 30 euros went towards our lunches, we would certainly return.

This was a great place to stay. It is a quick train ride from the city center and a walkable distance to a cute city.

We really loved our stay. The staff was excellent. They were very helpful with our questions and went out of their way to make us feel at home. They inquired about our days and if we were enjoying ourselves. We loved the fact that it was easily accessible by way of train--to all of our destinations: airport and downtown as well as near the windmills. We loved the neighborhood and found the grocery store great!

This was my first trip to Europe and we chose the Golden Tulip Zandaam to save a few bucks verses hotel rates in downtown Amsterdam. The location of the Hotel next to the train stop is excellent! However, beware of the HUGE construction project that currently surrounds the hotel. It will be going on for a while from the looks of it. The pile drivers and jack hammers start around 7:45 am. Never could get my computer to work on their wireless system. Would connect (1 Mbs with great signal strength) but never acquire IP address. Maybe it was an 802.11a system (my computer is only b/g). Ended up using the terminal in the lobby. If I had it to do over again I would still stay there, since we were out all day the noise from the construction was not an issue. The local street market is kind of fun (Thursday and Saturday mornings).

Nice room, a little cramped, polite staff, well positoned next to rail station, convienient for airport and amsterdam, no rail noise heard; unfortuneatly extensive building work going on next door during my stay which did disturb me at around 8 am. Overall, good hotel if you have business in Zaandam, if you are there to visit amsterdam there are better located and better value for money hotels in Amsterdam itself.

The hotel was nice but out of the way if you want to party in Amsterdam Central. You can take the train or the bus and then you're stuck with an expensive taxi ride. But, if you don't mind traveling out and back during the daylight hours then this hotel was just fine. It's close to the train station.

You know the hotel staff knows what is like to be a tourist when you get out of the train station and immediately see the signs for the Tulip Inn after you walk down the stairs. They have placed blue signs that would guide you to the entrance. Upon checking-in a cordial receptionist will hand you a map of the city, a menu of the restaurant, and other essential information. Our room was big,clean, and really comfortable, as well as the bathroom. They have TVs but no wifi, although you can catch wi-fi reception downstairs in the lobby. The hotel is only about 12minutes away from Centraal Station by train. The round trip is only 4 euros, but most times your tickets go unchecked. Buy your first pair, and see how long you can ride those tickets for. Keep in mind they have different tix for the weekend. If you think you are going to be staying past 12:30am every day then this is not the hotel for you since the last train departs around that time. But if you are like us, and are happy with visiting the cites till 11pm at night then this hotel is just right.

I chose this hotel because it was listed as being close to the train station. You don't even have to cross the street - you walk out of the hotel and within a minute or two, there is the train station! Amsterdam is just a few stops away and so is the airport. It was so easy to get there and back again. I was expecting a tiny room so I was pleasantly surprised when it was a little larger than I expected. There is construction going on at the hotel and surrounding it so that was a bit of an eyesore. As long as you are choosing the hotel so you can get sightsee in Amsterdam, you shouldn't mind. The staff were friendly and very helpful with train information, too. There was one computer in the lobby that you could use to access the internet. Another nice plus! If I ever get the chance to visit Amsterdam again, I would definitely stay at this hotel - you can save a ton of money but not waste too much time getting to the city.

For the price, the hotel rooms were less equipped with furnishings and the size of the room was very small. The charge for snacks and bevarages were outrageous.

Service at the front desk was less than I expected,not bad,but not like I've gotten at other hotels. It was also difficult to get food and drink at the bar,it seemed they were always doing kp duty in kitchen,however the help was very nice and pleasant when you got them out of the kitchen.Room was excellent,very clean and comfortable.Hotel is only short walk from train station.Very easy to find your way around...people all speak English and very helpful.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is in very close walking distance from the metro. You can literally see it from the platform. We also dealt with 3 different members of the staff & they were all extremely polite and helpful. But I have to say the the room & condition of the hotel is really sad. This hotel is in a BAD need of a remodel. They're so out of date they still use metal keys that you have to leave at the hotel every time you go out. Typical tiny European hotel room with no extra amenities whatsoever. Not disgusting but just on the boarder line of yuk.

The service and food were excellent. The room was clean, quiet and very pleasant. The people at reception were very welcoming.

This hotel is about a two minute walk to the train station and you don't even have to cross the street. Downtown Amsterdam is just 2 stops away. The airport is also 2 stops away. Very convenient! The neighborhood around the hotel is not very interesting and there is a lot of construction in the area (as of June, 2008); however, it didn't bother us since we only came back to the hotel in the evening at the end of each day of sightseeing. I recommend this hotel for people who want to save some money but still be able to get to town without too much time or effort.

Very nice hotel. Great service at the front desk. The only problem is that the hotel is too far away from Amsterdam Central to take a Tram home. You have to take a train. It's a very short train, ride - only about 7-10 minutes, but I think it's best to stay at a hotel on the tram line if your going to visit Amsterdam.

The hotel was great, the staff exceptionally helpful to include the restaurant and bar staff. The hotel is right next to the train station and it is only a ten minute ride by train to the main station in Amsterdam.

A nice hotel for those not desperate to be in the centre of Amsterdam. Nice rooms and service. Didn't use restaurant but bar menu very good. Right next to train station with regular service to central station and elsewhere. Recommended.

This Hotel was perfect for our needs. We drove to go to Amsterdam and looked for a hotel that had free parking, a comfortable bed, helpful staff, and close proximity to the train station. This one had it all and it was right next door to the Train station that took us in 12 minutes flat to the city centre of Amsterdam for 3euro.

Das Hotel ist in Ordnung und vor allen Dingen sauber. Es ist aber ganz bestimmt kein 4-Sterne Hotel. Es liegt super zentral (Bahnhof, Innenstadt...). Die vielen Baustellen in der Umgebung stören wenig (sind ja auch irgendwann mal fertig). Im Hotel selbst werden keine großartigen Renovierungen oder Reparaturen mehr durchgeführt - soll wohl abgerissen und neu aufgebaut werden. An der Rezeption wird kein Wort deutsch gesprochen-schon komisch. Das Frühstück ist mit 15.- Euro total überteuert und jeden Tag gleich...

L'hôtel est au pied de la gare de Zaandam et il faut 15 min en train et 20 min en voiture pour se rendre a Amsterdam. L'hôtel semble assez récent, la chambre était confortable, on notera l'impossibilité d'ouvrir les fenêtres, le bruit des travaux en cours en aout 2009, et le fait que le service de ménage ait ouvert notre porte et l'ai laissée ouverte alors que nous dormions encore.

Es ist ein sauberes Hotel-für Kurztripps nach Amsterdam bestens zu empfehlen.Es gibt kostenlose Parkplätze und etwa alle 10 min geht ein Zug in die City.Der Bahnhof ist direkt hinter dem Hotel. Lage ist z,Z, nicht besonders da rings herum gebaut wird. Hat aber nicht weiter gestört.

Empfehlenswertes Hotel mit ordentlicher Ausstattung. Zimmer mit Bad/WC, TV, WLAN, Safe, Minibar. Kostenloser Parkplatz für ca. 30 Autos. Frühstück ist teuer, deshalb nicht selber probiert. Guter Anschluss mit Bahn nach Amsterdam-Zentrum (ca. 15 min.; 4 EUR), Bahnhof direkt neben dem Hotel. Rundherum Baustellen (05/2009), aber wegen Zimmer zum Hof und Wochenende nicht störend.

Hôtel confortable, propre, les chambres sont bien décorées le personnel est sympathique. De plus, il est à proximité de la gare, et de là il faut compter seulement 10 min ou un quart d'heure pour être en centre ville. Juste un petit bémol: les alentours de l'hôtel: la gare est en travaux, le coin n'est pas spécialement joli. Mais me concernant, ce n'était pas grave, car l'hôtel reste peu cher comparé aux prix des hôtels en plein Amsterdam. C'est une bonne solution pour les budgets moyens

Detta hotell låg i princip bredvid tågbanan vilket var väldigt bekvämt för ca 10 minuter senare var du i Amsterdam tänk på dock att ha euro för de är inte speciellt förtjusta i VISA eller Mastercard. Det ända som störde på rummet var bygget utanför men oljud kan alltid finnas.

Hôtel plein de charme. L'équipement est top (couette, peignoir, coffre, bouilloire, internet gratuit...). Les chambres sont propres et le personnel a vos petits soins. A 10 min en train de Centraal dont la station est à deux pas. A recommander pour un couple.

Wir hatten dieses Hotel für unseren 4 tägigen Amsterdam Städtetrip ausgewählt. Das Hotel liegt direkt an einem Bahnhof -12 Minuten bis Amsterdam Centraal für ca. 2-3 €uro. Die Züge fahren alle 15 Minuten! Das Hotel ist echt in Ordnung. Es war sauber und ein Supermarkt ist gleich gegenüber. Das Essen und Trinken ist relativ teuer - deshalb der Supermarkt :-) Außerdem bietet das Hotel KOSTENLOSE Parklätze - super Ersparnis bei den Parkkosten in der Innenstadt !!! Ich würde das Hotel immer wieder buchen !!!

Das Hotel liegt direkt am Bahnhof Zaandam.Die Lage ist nicht schön aber für eine Amsterdamtour sehr effektiv.Parken ist auf dem Hoteil eigenen Parkplatz kostenlos.Die Zimmer sind sauber und gepflegt.Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit spricht jedoch kein Wort deutsch. Englischkentnisse sind zwingend erforderlich.

Clean and tidy hotel. Small but well-furnished with a cosy fireplace in the lobby and bar. Only 15 mins by train to Amsterdam centre, and trains were plentiful, so very easy to get to and fro. Ideal if you want to save some money and enjoy some peace and quiet by staying outside the centre of Amsterdam. Can only recommend, and the staff was very nice and helpful.

Hotellet ligger knappt 10 min med tåg till Amsterdams central station. Mycket enkelt att åka tåg och det var inte dyrt 3-4 Euro tur och retur. Dyr frukost (15 Euro) på hotellet åk i stället in till city och ät roligare och billigare där.

Ein Hotel in der Nähe der City von Amsterdam (mit der Bahn 11 Min). Freundliches Personal, gutes Essen im Restaurant, sowie kostenlosen Tee auf dem Zimmer. Das Zimmer selbst ist für ein 4 Sterne Hotel etwas klein, aber für einen City-Ausflug von 1 Woche ausreichend. Da ich mit dem Rad da war (20 Min. bis Amsterdam Hauptbahnhof), waren auch Ausflüge in herrlicher Natur möglich. Diese Radwege wünschte ich mir für Deutschland. Von der Straße und vom nahen Bahnhof habe ich keinen Lärm wahrgenommen. Zu Fuß brauchte ich nur 5 Min. in die City von Zaandam. Dort bekommt man herrliches Essen zu günstigen Preisen (Tagesgericht-/Menü)Allein die City und das Essen ist schon eine Reise wert. ICH KOMME GERNE WIEDER.

L'hôtel est au pied de la station de trains, qui vous emmènent à Amsterdam Central Station en dix minutes. L'hôtel dispose du parking gratuit, le service est impeccable et avenant, la chambre est très bien. La salle de bains n'est pas très grande mais jolie avec mobilier bois et sanitaires de qualité, baignoire droite assez grande pour 2 avec coin douche et écran anti-éclaboussures, bien équipée et propre. Ils fournissent même les peignoirs et les sandales de bains. On avait aussi inclus la planche à repasser, le nécessaire à café/thé, la télévision, la clim automatique. L'hôtel est en travaux d'extension actuellement mais nous n'avons eu aucune gêne d'aucune sorte... mais notre chambre était du côté opposé où se font les travaux. D'autre part, il n'y avait personne sur le chantier dans la matinée du lundi... comme les boutiques de la rue commerçante à 5min à pied.. ils ne doivent commencer à travailler qu'à 13h00 peut-être !

Hôtel bien tenu, avec une équipe d'accueil qui a le ses du service.

L'albergo è attaccato alla stazione di Zaandam e veramente non si sente la necessità stare dentro Amstesdam. Un treno ogni 10 minuti e in poco tempo si è alla stazione centrale.

hotel tres sympa, chambre propre et confortable, la gare situé juste a coté de l hotel vous mene a amsterdam en 10 minutes. Aucun soucis suite a la reservation nos chambres nous attendaient a notre arrivé

Vorrei solo dire, che DOVETE precisare che i 10min dal centro di amsterdam e con il treno, non a piedi. Avevamo pensato 10min dal centro a piedi. E scomodo dover prendere sempre il treno. Per il resto ottima struttura.

l'hôtel est au calme à 10mn à pied du tramway, avec un parking gratuit, et les chambres sont propres et spacieuses; le petit dejeuner est copieux, bref tout est bien; 2 points sont pour ma part négatifs, sans trop d'importance: le café est pas très fort, et on entend les tuyauteries des salles de bains: il serait bon de rajouter une porte à mon avis dans la chambre que nous avions entre le corridor et la chambre!
