We used our free night through hotels to stay on the executive floor with included valet parking. The perks on the executive floor were outstanding. We had all free pop, water, snacks, hors d'voures (we ate as supper), continental breakfast, and dvd rental. The room was spacious and had 2 bathrooms. The hotel staff was friendly and tried to be helpful. Sometimes it was hard to find someone available to help. We were charged for parking, but the desk clerk took care of it pretty quickly. The hotel itself is beautiful and in a great location. We absolutely loved our stay!

The Palmer House Hilton was everything I expected and more. Having grown up in the Chicago area, I had never stayed at the Palmer House. So, this was a great experience--it was lovely, the lobby ceiling is a must see. The staff helpful and extremely polite. The room was large, and while not "modern", it was beautifully remodeled and looked as it might have looked in the Palmer House glory days. I was 2 blocks from my conference meeting place and had easy access to the Art Institute, Millenium Park, Grant Park, and more. I would recommend this place to visitors and Illinois residents alike.

The Palmer House Hilton is a jem! The grand lobby and bar area is beautiful and welcoming. The front desk staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. One of my favorite little accessories is the clock radio that has a connection for your iPod! I had a great time at the Palmer House and would recommend it to my friends and family!

Loved Loved Loved the hotel, was a great location and price for the value. My only issue was that my sheets got dirty one night of my stay and the cleaning crew did not put new sheets on my bed, which I would have expected. Other than that, it was great. I would stay again.

Positives: I found the location to be convenient to everything. The main entrance is really pretty for taking pictures. I was very satisty with my room (2 double beds room), it was clean, but a little bit small. I did not know that the hotel did not have views of the Millenium Park, there are no views of anything except the other side of the hotel. Housekeeping staff is excellent, my room was very well cleaned every day. Negatives: bathtub was clogged. I called from my room several times and nobody picked up.The concierge and registration staff are rude, unfriendly, and fake-nice. As a visitor to the area for the first time, the only people who really annoyed me were the concierge of the hotel. After I handed the keys on my checkout to the staff, I asked her is she can call the aiport service to come pick me up, she directed me to the paid phone and told me to call myself. I would only recommend this hotel for its location and cleanliness, but do not expect any customer service at all.

My meeting was in the hotel, so the location was excellent. Parking is a challenge in downtown Chicago, so just be aware. I have stayed there before, so I knew the routine, however. My room was extremely small, but that was noted before I reserved it. I do know the property has a number of other room configurations, so you may get lucky!

While the hotel upholds its stature as a majestic, historic facility, it's far overrated as a place stay. The rooms are small and the King-sized bed is the smallest King-sized bed I've ever seen. It's noisy; we could hear the baby crying in the room next to us, and a group laughing in the other room. Valet parking is astronomical, which I realize is the advantage of being downtown, but enough to make me never return.

The palmer House exceded our expectations. The staff is really friendly and is very helpful. The hotel rooms also exceded our expectations. They were bigger than what we thought. The hotel is a short walking distance to Navy Pier and is a block away from Mellenium Park and is also located in the theater district. I would recomend this hotel because of it's service and of it's location.

We truly enjoyed our experience at the Palmer House. The location is great! The history of the hotel is very interesting and fun to read about! The loved the staff - very helpful! The price was great! We can not say enough good things! The five of us were able to fit in a 2 bed, 1 bath room with the addition of the roll away which was reasonably priced! Also, WE LOVED the pool! Nice and clean and kid friendly - with great hours 5:30AM to 9PM. We hit the pool before sight seeing! Recommending to everyone!

It was just a quick, romantic weekend stay in Chicago. The room wasn't big, but fine for one night. It was very quiet and the bed was quite comfortable. Very close to several theaters if you so desire. Millenium Park is just two blocks away. We walked to Navy Pier, but it is about 1.5 miles away. Every staff member we needed anything from was courteous and helpful.

Hotel was beautiful. First room they gave us was very small, but we got a bigger room with a better view when we requested. We were disappointed with how rude a large portion of the staff were - including a lot of the check in desk folks. We were also shocked to find out that there was a $15 service fee for room service. This was not advertised anywhere. They also charge for internet service and a lot of other little extra's that are usually included in cheaper hotels. That was very disappointing. Location is great - walking distance to so many fantastic things.

We had high expectations for Palmer House. However, did not appreciate extra fees for fitness center, internet both in room and in lobby, and expensive parking. Service was so/so. Occassionally referred to someone else when didn't feel like answering question. Food very expensive. Close to many attractions except Navy pier and things north of river. For the money, I will go elsewhere next time.

We had a great 2 day mimi vacation in Chicago this past week and stayed at the Palmer House Hilton. The location was great, less than a block from the trolleys and double decker buses (a must DO if it's your first time in Chicago). We had booked an Executive level room but decided last minute that we wanted to stay in the larger more modern rooms. They had no problem changing our room and allowing us access to the ececutive level club. The room was very large and well maintained (but the bathrooms are very small). We had 2 double beds and requested a rollaway bed for my 13 year old. They told me there would be a 35.00 dollar charge but no charge showed up on my bill at checkout. They brought the bed while we were siteseeing but did not set it up, it only took one call and they came and set it up for me. We also booked a room that included parking (a must if you visit Chicago). We checked in super early, 11:00 am (our room was ready) and we left the car until 6:30 the next evening - no extra charge..an awesome deal! We did not eat at the hotel but I heard from several guests that it was delicious. All in all a GREAT trip to Chicago.

Make sure to confirm a room for "2" doubles if you are expecting to have 2 beds. I was told I would either have 2 double beds OR 1 king. When I checked in, they said the only room available was 1 double. Eventhough I had booked a month prior, they told me that the hotel was sold out and that is all they had available. I would NOT stay here again!!

There was a charge to use the computers in the business center. There was a charge for the front desk's toiletries kit. There was a charge for in-room internet service (not wireless). There was a charge for local phone calls. All calls to the hotel, including from your room, went through a call center. There was nothing great about this hotel, and there were many little things that were frustrating. If it were a budget hotel, then I might understand, but it isn't and I don't. I won't stay here again.

I booked this hotel because it was the perfect location for Lollapalooza- we were able to just walk back after the full day at the concert and not have to deal with traffic or taxis. Unfortunately, I suffered from a violent allergic reaction (the first time in my life and very scary) so my fiance used the emergency button on the phone in our room. There was no answer... at all. After trying the front desk, the concierge and guest services, all with no answer, he finally went down to the lobby to get some help. The person behind the concierge desk was at the end of her shift and even when my fiance explained the situation and that we needed help, she said she couldn't do anything and there was a 7-Eleven around the corner. A beautiful hotel with horrific customer service. If I had the energy in my Benadrul induced state, I would have left that night and not even stayed in the hotel at all.

The room was large and clean. It had the possibility of two bathrooms. We were allowed access to only one bathroom unless we were willing to pay an additional convenience fee. The bathroom that we did have access to was ridiculously small. It was difficult to close the door while inside the bathroom. When we checked out my husband forgot a baseball cap and prescription sunglasses in the room, sitting on a table. When we called back to check the room had been cleaned and no items were turned in to lost and found. The cleaning staff obviously threw them away even though there was no indication that they were trash.
