Best Western Pentagon Hotel Reagan Airport - Arlington

I stayed here with my family for a vacation to DC. We were extremely happy with the hotel and the price we paid. Our room was plenty big (a lot more living space than some hotels where the walkway between the beds and the TV is minimal). The bathroom was clean and a decent size and the water pressure was fantastic. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The free breakfast was good, lots of variety (muffins, bagels, waffles, fruit, juices, etc.). The shuttle to the metro was so convenient. (One bad thing, the last pickup from the metro to the hotel is at 10pm so you have to plan accordingly). Cons - big step up into the hotel room and so elevator to the second floor (know this in advance if you are handicapped or traveling with someone who is.)

Hotel was very clean and neat. Didn't realize it was setup with the room doors outside but it was still a very good hotel for the price...which was cheap. WOuld recommend staying here! THey have free shuttle to the metro and if you have your own transportation it is only like 10-15 mins from downtown.

Probably would not stay again. Hotel needs updating, outdated rooms. Very noisey super thin walls. Had to call front desk and front desk wouldn't do anything about it. Not even willing to discount for inconvience. Out of the way with nothing within walking distance.

Not a bad place to stay. The shuttle ride is only about 5 minutes to the Metro Station and it was on time. The only thing I didn't like was the smell of the room. Strong cleaner or something, just bring a candle to burn and it will be fine.

The shuttle service was completly inadequate! They run one small bus to and from the metro station, and every evening it was overloaded and we had to wait an hour on the next shuttle. They need to increase evening service to every 15 minutes to accomidate people retruning from DC. You can not walk to any local resteraunts, which requires driving through bad neighborhoods in a metro area to get dinner.

The front desk was very helpful. The rooms were nice and clean too. For our room,we had to flip the light switch to make the outlets work. My rental's car battery died, and they helped me get that jumped. They were also nice with directions for tourists. I would stay here again.

It's very easy to go downtown or Georgetown. The room was OK but my fiancee's leg was bitten by a bug while she was asleep and the leg was all red for a week afterward. Besides, there was a distinct urine smell in front of the room during our stay. This smell was local though, it is only our bad luck I guess. Still, the management could have done something about it. Other than these 2 problems our stay was pleasant.

The hotel was just a short distance from Reagan Int'l airport and the Metro. The hotel offered free hourly shuttle service both to and from the airport and the Metro. The room was clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was a plus. Would stay there again.

Excellent customer service. Good breakfast. Clean. Not a 5-star hotel, but a great hotel for staying near DC and going sight-seeing all day long! Shuttle service available. Would stay again on next visit to DC.

Our recent 3-night stay met our needs. We used the complimentary shuttle to the train system and back, which was helpful. The room was very clean and the bathroom was updated. The only drawback was that our room was next to the housekeeping area, which at times was nosiy if we returned to our room in the afternoon for a quick rest before going back out for the evening. Also, the concrete sidewalks were uneven and you needed to be careful to avoid tripping.

We had a great stay at this hotel. Room was clean, staff was very friendly and we loved the convenience of the shuttle to the metro station and to the airport.

The shuttle service was OK. However, the location is inconvenient unless you are driving. Quality of room and continental breakfast was poor.

Very clean and comfortable, good location

The hotel was in need of some renovation, but room was acceptable although damp. Perhaps another room would have been OK but didn't ask to move. Extremely convenient to Metro (with shuttle from hotel to Metro station) and sites. Good value for the price.

I was satisfied with my stay. I had no problems with the staff or with the room conditions. The shuttle service to the METRO is pretty convenient and the stop at Pentagon City is a good location since there are several restaurants and a mall nearby. The hotel's surrounding area isn't the greatest since there aren't many close restaurants or grocery stores, but if you're looking for a cheaper stay, especially a short one, the Best Western is a good option.

Exceeded my expectations. It's a little out of the way but they have a shuttle that gets you to the Pentagon City metro stop then you can access the rest of DC. Large continental breakfast a plus.I guess the only downside I would have to say was the shuttle can fillup and then you have to wait for the next one which can be a few minutes.

First impressions say a lot. The initial room the front desk put us in had not yet been cleaned. Both unmade beds, trash, very discomforting. Guest service was quick to get us a new room that was clean, but still unimpressive. However, with its quick access to 395, Washington DC is easily accessible, as well as Alexandria/Arlington, VA; thus saving us gas money and frustration of too much traffic trying to get around. The room is tight, the bathroom unimpressive and overall a dull experience. Hopefully though you'll be spending a lot more time out of the room than in it. That's what we did.

Nothing fancy at all. But in our price range. Rooms were clean and we felt safe with our two young children. Walls seemed a little thin as we could hear phone conversations and television noise fairly easily from next door and above. However we were not in the room much anyway. Shuttle was good and reliable, just a little crowded. After (3) trips on it I found the $12.00 cab fare from the metro back to hotel to be a better experience and worth the extra cost. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Free breakfast was a good way to save money,and the food was just fine. Just don't go between 9 and 10am or you will spend a long time battling for a place in line with multiple guests and food needs replaced often. Not set up to service as many people as they had during prime time. But it was a good service regardless.

The pros - hourly shuttle to metro. - Close to Shrilington (lot's of great restaurants) - Free parking The cons - Wireless internet does work, this was a real downer as I really needed to get work done but could not. - Workout room was under equipped and smelled worse that any locker room I've ever been in. Working out is not an option there. - There's nothing within in walking distance, plan on driving everywhere. - Free shuttle is great if you're lucky enough to get on it. Over all I was disappointed with this hotel. The price was good, but I would rather pay a little more for a better location and wi-fi that works.

Good room - Outside apprearance not the same as room - Very quite and nice room for being just off the interstate. - Nice bed and clean - an A in my scoring.

Old style motel complex (steel staircases, stucco exterior, rooms along outdoor walkway) with comfortable, clean, nicely updated interior. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Shuttle service worked nicely for getting back and forth to Metro. Exceeded my expectations for the price.

This hotel is a great location to the pentagon city metro station and the free shuttle service to that station is quick. There is also a great Italian restaurant (Bertucci) at 725 King St. only 10 minutes away down S Glebe to W. Glebe. However, our first night in room 110 had some kind of fruit flies that seemed to multiply as the night went on no matter how many of them we killed. It also had a strange odor in it. When I advised the hotel desk clerk in morning she was very nice and offered to change my room, which I accepted. Unfortunately, this room 144 also had bugs show up during the course of the night in the bathroom which covered the floor. I again went to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager and informed her of the bugs and now I was expecting financial compensation. She was very friendly and understanding and offered to change my room and comp me the last night. Our final room was very nice, clean and fresh smelling. I realize the hotel is older and not a luxury style hotel but I expect for whatever one pays for a hotel room that it should be functional, clean and free of insects or any other type of critter. The staff is very nice and friendly which makes up for some of the other issues but management needs to spend a little on updating the ventilation & extermination. We spoke with some other guest about their hotel rooms and they didn't seem to have any bug probles so I guess it's just the room that get that may these kinds of problems. If you're willing to risk it I would recommend this hotel. But if not I'm sure you can find another hotel at similar prices as there is Comfort Inn right next door.

Best Western gave us great value for location, being one of the few hotels close to downtown Washington via Metro. On this point the hotel staff were not truthful in saying the Metro was close. It is NOT in walking distance, so one must take their shuttle, which is inconvenient, especially in that it stops running at 10 pm. There are no restaurants or shops in close proximity to hotel, so there is a feeling of isolation and frustration with the "close" location to Washington. At the same time, they were unaware of the nearby wonderful Shirlington restaurant district, a mile walk or a short hop on Bus 87 (which they were unaware of, I had to tell them). The bus also runs to the metro more often than their shuttle. The room were spacious, clean, comfortable, with the nicest King Sized bed I have ever enjoyed. Also, their is an exceptional dozen mile walking trail system closeby, which the hotel did not understand, but that I figured out. I would return again, now that I know how to maximize the location via the bus.

The hotel was great, good breakfast, and great location. You cannot beat the hotel for the price. Very curteous staff and clean room.

The hotel was very nice and clean. It is conveniently located right off the highway. The hotel offers a shuttle to a nearby Metro station (around 5 minutes away). The only bad part about the shuttle is that the last one is at 10:00 p.m.

The hotel is located right outside of downtown DC. It is off the highway so there is easy access to all the DC sights by car. The room was a nice size, clean and comfortable. Definately a great place to stay for sightseeing in DC.

Good room for the money

The thing I most appreciated was the ease with which we were able to travel about the area. The shuttle service to and from the airport and to and from the Metro was excellent and timely.

I found my stay in Washington DC required an extra day so for the first time had to use this website. Hotels in the Centre of Washington were above my budget so I took a chance on staying here relying on the shutttle bus to and from Pentagon City Metro to get me there and back. Couldn't fault the hotel, reception at the hotel even helped me out with a phone call to an airline to check I was booked after my confirmation email wasn't recieved. Couldn't fault the breakfast either. I'd look to save money and stay at this hotel again next time I am required in Washington DC

The hotel room was very clean and well kept. The staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions. The only problem was the noise from the adjoining room. The walls should be better insulated for sound proofing.

Was only 5 min from DC. Pool didn't open until noon. Our first morning we had no hot water.

This hotel was outside entrance only along with no elevator service, which was difficult as a women business traveler with much luggage. Also, the 'free' breakfast was at another hotel - I'm not sure how that happens. This, couple with the 'don't mind the police car outside' and 'your room in right over there past the dark alley' - this is not the hotel for women travelers.

I would recommend visitors going to DC get this hotel if you want to see the attractions. The hotel shuttles you to the Pentagon City metro station and picks you up also. The hotel had nice rooms. They are roomy and clean. For the resonable price this hotel is about as good as it gets. The hotel is located right off of the highway and easy for travel. The breakfast was also very good.

Great Structure but needs improvements to outside physical environment, and elevators for those who cannot carry bags up the stairs.
