"Great value centrally located hotel"
Comentado por e, delondon, el sep 14, 2009
An enormous room and bathroom, everything new and clean, good views from room, comfortable bed with good linen. An easy walk to gorgeous Newbury St for shopping\dining and easy walking distance to most of Boston's key attractions. Friendly and helpful staff, PCs in the downstairs cafe for guest use, can't fault it at all.

The Back Bay Hilton is located in a wonderful part of Boston, within a 5 min walk to Newbury Street, Copley Place and Prudential Center. 15 min to Fenway Park. The hotel was great. My only comment is that when we arrived, at 2:45, 15 minutes prior to check in time, while others' were getting checked right in (3 people in line ahead of us) we were told our room wasn't ready . . . but they did have an upgrade available for an extra $20. Seemed odd to me they had the upgrade rooms available, but not ours. Didn't take the upgrade and wound up on the HiltonHonors floor 15 min later anyway . . . weird.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the hotel. I thought the hotel should provide a discount for parking - 35 bucks is pretty steep for self-parking.

great experience. safe and close parking (worth the fee to park there). trendy decor in rooms, and very clean. Perfectly clean room. I was upgraded upon arrival without requsting it also. Friendly staff there. Liked having coffee shop in the lobby, Starbucks. I rdered room service breakfast and though it was pricey it was fresh and delicious. I will defintly stay there again.

Great experience. Located minutes off highway. $6 cab ride to Fenway Park, minutes walk to Newbury Street, & restaraunts. Extremely clean, very comfortable bed. Parking expensive but worth it due to garage being directly connected to the hotel & didn't have to walk a few blocks to it's garage like some Boston hotels. Staff upgradded me upon arrival from a twin to a king before I asked. Located right in inner city but I didn't hear 'the city' from my room on the 5th floor during the night. Would return to this hotel, yes.

The hotel was full, which would not have been too much of a problem if all the elevators had been working. 26 floors and only 2 elevators out of 3 were operating, which resulted in long waits any time you wanted to go up or down. The elevator cars were usually full, possibly to an unsafe limit at times. The room temperatures were hard to control as the thermostat was ancient. It was either very cold or uncomfortably warm.

Great neighborhood-close to T transportation, nice shops, restaurants. The parking garage is tight. Had a tough time getting SUV around the curves. $37/day for parking seems a little steep for hotel guests, but then again Boston parking is not abundant.

Comentado por Mark, dePortland, el ago 19, 2009
The location is great, but the service was indifferent at best, and the additional charges really added up. $38/day for self parking is high, but the garage didn't even have enough space for all the guests, and the elevator stops two levels short of the top of the garage! There are other choices nearby that are better for the price.

The room was great but the hotel was at 96% capacity and 1 elevator was down. You had to wait a bit for an elevator. Other than that the staff was friendly. One bummer was you have to pay for parking. That was ridiculous to me. Add the parking fee to the room rate.

We really enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean staff was friendly and professional. One issue: parking was at the hotel garage but was very expensive. 4 days was half as much as they charge for the month. They should offer a "park free first night" or some discount to park there

This hotel is great. It is in a great spot and very convienient to everything. There is a T stop right at the Prudential Center which is a block or so away from the hotel. If your going to visit Boston and don't want to pay the higher prices of staying closer to downtown this is perfect. We walked to the Prudential Center T stop and were drinking at the Black Rose (Quincy Market area) within 20 min. I highly recommend this hotel.

The only complaint we had was checking in. It took a long time and there were only three people ahead of us. One of the girls was pretty rude. However, the girl who finally checked us in was friendly and it worked out okay with her. The room was very comfortable and clean. We were impressed with the quality of the food and service in the restaurant and bar area. We would stay here again.

The Hilton Boston Back Bay's location was convenient to all the destinations we went to in the city. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable but the coffee is terrible. If your planning on staying in this hotel be sure to make other arrangements for parking because it is on the expensive side. And also make other arrangement to eat because the food is expensive as well. Overall, the only perks of this hotel are the view, location, and the cab service.

Nice hotel at a great location. Walking distance to shopping area as well as Boston Green. We had a false fire alarm at 5 am! The entire hotel was evacuated & there was no staff on site to give instruction & update us what happened. We had to individually checked with the reception when they "privately" inform us that it was a false alarm & then we slowly spread thge news & then all slowly swamp back to our rooms in the early morning. The incident was not very professionally handled!

I have stayed at this hotel several times as it is very conveniently located to my destination. I have usually been satisfied, however, my most recent stay was very disappointing. First of all, the hotel has discontinued their valet parking. Parking is now self parking with a very inconvenient system of payment. Secondly, the toilet in the room was not functioning properly. I reported it to housekeeping but no one ever showed up to look at it or fix it. I will not be staying at this Hilton in the future.

Comentado por J, deWiltshire, el jun 21, 2009
My friend and I booked this hotel because we were attending the XV International Symposium on Atherosclerosis 2009 which was being held in the Hynes Convention Centre. The hotel was only a few minutes away from the venue (across the street, through the Sheraton Hotel to the Prudential Center entrance) which meant that we could easily return to our room if we’d forgotten anything. The maid who cleaned our room was GREAT and let us have double of everything as two females use LOTS of towels, etc !! The only downside was we had to pay $14.99/day for a Wi-Fi connection in our room although you could use it for free in the lobby. They did have 4 PCs in the lobby, 2 of them in the Starbucks, that guests could use to check their email and print stuff off for free. The room was a nice size with plenty of space for 2 queen sized beds, desk, HUGE TV on a chest-of-drawers, armchair, occasional table and a tea & coffee making facility. There wasn’t a fridge but they brought one up to the room. The hotel is close to Newbury Street and is about halfway between the T at Mass Ave/Newbury Street (the station is called Hynes Convention Centre) and the one at the Prudential Centre. There were also lots of shops and great restaurants close by

For the money we paid, 2 nights, Not worth it..We travel all the time, and like nice hotels, my exspectations were high I guess. I was let down, no mini fridge in room, Ive stayed at hotels for lower rates and had both mini micro and fridge. When toilet was flushed it was so loud it woke up people who were sleepiing, We tried not to flush in the middle of the night!!! Phone to call front desk not hooked up, 37.00 per day to park your car OUTRAGEOUS NO discount for guests?

We reserved the room for 4 - 2 adults and 2 children. The room was on the small side for that. My biggest complaint would have to be the shower. It made no sense. It was the kind that detaches from the wall and it had no water pressure. The other complaint was that the shower curtain didn't fully cover the shower so the floor was constantly a huge puddle. The employees were all very helpful and accomodating. I'd stay again but try for a bigger room for the 4 of us.

We only stayed at the hotel for one night, but we did a considerable amount of sightseeing. The staff were very courteous and helpful, giving maps and verbal directions to all of our destinations. Very friendly! The hotel itself is very pleasant and the room was quite clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to access our terrace, but I can understand where that might be a safety concern on the 16th floor. Overall, a good stay!

You could hear whenever anyone else flushed a toilet on our floor and the thermostat in the room was a pain. With that said I would still stay there again. The staff was excellent and the pool and fitness room were great. We were less than a five minute walk to the train station making it very easy to get around cheaply.
