Main Asset: Convenient Location ! Briefly: - Recommended for short stays not exceeding 3 days due to location and availability of air conditioning (most European hotels do not have or do not specify whether they offer AC !); - Not recommended for longer stays due to many reasons. First and foremost: it is advertised everywhere on the Internet as "a hotel", but in reality it is what the management calls and actually prints on the outside, "an accommodation" (a snobbish and disguised way of saying "don't expect much" ...) unfortunately for a lot of money, because everybody who comes for the first time is led to believe this is ... a good hotel. We end up being deceived and disappointed. It is not in a great neighborhood, however it is very conveniently located within exactly 10 min walking distance (with luggage) from a major bus and underground (metro, subway, "tube") station, and from two train stations: Kings Cross (leading to places such as Cambridge), and St Pancrass (leading to places such as Paris-France and Bruxelles-Belgium via Eurostar). Many useful cheap convenience stores around open until midnight ! Breakfast is included, but it is not impressive. Coffee and tea is available from a vending machine ... but not for free. The rooms ***have*** AC (air conditioning - a major asset during Summer time, because even in London it can get hot even during Summer time. But, the rooms (even a so called double room) are very small, many of them with views towards inner ugly places. The windows are sealed. Many things (TV, shower, cold/warm water switch, etc) do not work properly, and, despite the willingness of the staff to please and fix everything, most things cannot and will not be fixed. To summarize: we all know London is a very expensive city, however, I am convinced everyone would agree: for the price we are asked to pay we should get more and better. I got a significantly better value in Paris: I paid less, I got much more, and I felt less deceived, unhappy, a

Traveled with my 2 children [9& 12 ] was pleasantly suprised by condition of hotel. It was a refreshing change to have a spacious room which was clean, as was the rest of the hotel. totop it all the staff were all friendly and helpful. Will be returning

Had a nice cosy "home from home" feel and exactly as described. would go back again. Ideal for the train stations and good food places / bars / convenience stores just round the corner

We stated at this hotel because we had an early morning train to Brussels from St. Pancras station. We were getting in late the night before, wanted a short walk to the train station, and didn't need any amenities because we were only going to be in the room for 5 hours or so to get some sleep. Even with limited expectations, the hotel managed to fall short. The beds were horrible, with no firmness at all. The room was small, and not well-decorated. We couldn't turn on the A/C because we didn't have the remote control. When we asked for it, we were given the wrong remote, so we had to ask a second time. We didn't mind, but the desk clerk may have, because he set our wake up call for an hour earlier than asked (5:00 a.m. instead of 6:00 a.m.). It's just as well, because we didn't get any sleep in that room. Our recent trip was for 16 days at 8 different hotels, and all of the others met or exceeded our expectations. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again if it were cost-free. I'd give this hotel one star on the U.S. four star scale. If we had any other choice, we would have checked out immediately after checking in.

NOT what I was expecting. Figured Comfort Inns in U.S. were all pretty same (nice, comfortable for what you pay), but my room was TINY (twin bed with barely any room around it) and bathroom smaller than a cruise ship. Loud hallway/elevator (barely got any sleep) and did not like the policy of having to pick up your key at the front desk whenever you left the hotel. Luckily, only stayed one night before heading to Heathrow after travelling around the U.K./France.

Very convenient, 2 blocks to Underground. Small but very clean, nicely remodeled rooms. Helpful staff, good continental breakfast. Only problem was some street noise but it wasn’t really bad. Definitely would stay there again.

The hotel was handy, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. 2 minutes from Kings Cross, giving you easy access to all the sights.Loved coming back late and having a cup of coffee in bed!!!!!

Plus: Staff friendly. Bathroom spotlessly clean. Close to train and tube stations. Minus: Decor shabby and depressing, room very small even for a single, no place to put anything down there or in the bathroom.

When I checked in and asked the clerk for directions, he told me not to talk to anyone or ask anyone for directions outside on the street - it's that kind of neighborhood. (And I do not look or act naive - I am from NYC!) The room itself was tiny - just a twin bed and a wardrobe, and it felt like it was dirty. Luckily I only had to spend one night before catching a train at King's Cross, which is about 3 blocks away, but I didn't feel safe. I ended up sleeping with the lights on.

Freindly staff and comfortable room although very compact accomodation. Very close to Kings Cross and St Pancras station.

We only stayed in the Comfort Inn for one night as we were travelling on the early Eurostar, and for this the hotel is ideal, taking into account London prices. Any longer and I would prefer to stay elsewhere, though. The room itself is a bit small and the bathroom dated but is sufficient for a one night stop-over. Location excellent for both St Pancras and Kings Cross - Euston is a little further away but still within walking distance.

This place was not clean , very uncomfortable bed and I have seen bigger dog kennels. Will not be back.

I stayed here because of the location to the train station. The room was very small. I felt safe. The desk guy was very helpful. It was all I needed to stay the night & take the train out the next morning.

In order to get to my room, which was on the "first" floor, I walked up two stairs, went through a fire door, took one step forward, walked through a second fire door, turned right, walked two steps, walked through a third fire door, went down two steps, then walked two steps forward, turned left, and walked up three steps and, finally, I arrived at my room with my two suitcases. Enough said.

The hotel is very close to Kings Cross/St. Pancras stations, which is convenient for Gatwick and for Chunnel train, as well as for a major Underground station. Room was small, but bathroom was very new and nice. Bed was hard and just barely acceptable. Breakfast was awful. Coffee from a machine. Limited variety. We did not eat there. Nice people, though.

Room was reasonably spacious and ensuite was good size too. Breakfast was OK, though most mornings the hotel breakfast room staff were not ready for 7pm and still putting out stuff etc whilst guests waited. But otherwise helpful. TV picture in room was rubbish(apparently they in process of sorting it..but was bad all week) and did not have anywhere near the no. of channels they said. Also, wi-fi expensive..when are all hotels gonna offer this for free ?? Should be basic service, like tv etc in all hotels imho.

Cramped and basic, epecially for the price. Corridors upstairs smelled of curry. Limited breakfast facilities. Staff well meaning and helpful.

Hotel is clean and the staff are very helpfull and friendly. The best assest of the hotel is the proximity to the King's Cross Station which makes it easy to get around by tube/train to most part of london. Even the piccadily line to Heathrow airport is at the station. We had a triplet room and the sofa converted bed for the third person-my daughter, was not very comfortable. We had problems with lots of ants in the basement triplet room, which the front desk seems to be aware of as they did acknowledge there were ants there when we mentioned it to them. Otherwise the room was very clean. The staff made extra effort to see the room got cleaned even when the request was a bit late. The breakfast was about the same every day,essentially;boiled egg, toast, cofee and tea. But there are eatries round the corner from the hotel that provide some reasonably priced alternatives.

If you need to catch a train from King's Cross/St. Pancreas early in the morning, this is a great place just to stay the night so you're not rushing around in the a.m. to get to the train. However, this is a no-frills, basic hotel with a clean but cramped room. I would not stay here otherwise in London as a main stay because it's just not comfortable, and the neighborhood is so-so.

The location is good - right near the Kings Cross tube station. The room, the lobby & the breakfast room were clean & well-maintained. The staff was helpful & friendly. The room was small but that's to be expected in Britain. It had all the necessary conveniences. It was a bit stuffy as we were on the top floor & the weather was warm.There was a nice selection of items at breakfast. My only concern was that on one occasion the clerk did not have our room key (you turn it in each time you leave the hotel)even though we turned it in but they issued a new one immediately. I presume it was misfiled. All in all, a good deal for the price.

We had to wait for lift due to laundry arrival. We went to our room and we thought location location. No view. TV was snowy. When we turned down our sheets there was no top sheet. we search in the room. Called down stairs and they came up with two new sheets. We suposed they were short on clean sheets. It is not like a Comfort Inn in the USA. We were imformed we had to leave our keys with desk when we went for dinner. I don't know why. Bad area I guess. Near train station . Maybe a little more money to be in a better hotel. We did have a free contenintal breakfast. A 20 pound savings I guess

The location of the hotel is excellent being so close to King's Cross rail and tube station. The continental breakfast was also good. However the hotel in general is cramped and the room itself was extremely small. Also the room was very hot making it difficult to sleep at night.

Very clean room but extremely small even for a single room - hanging space but nowhere to put other clothes. The bed was comfortable and other guests were quiet so I was not disturbed. Friendly and helpful staff. Continental breakfast was disappointing: quite a small selection, wtih coffee from a machine - ugh! And you can get much better bread and pastries quite cheaply than were on offer here.

The decor was shabby and sad, but the worst part was the sign taped in the bathroom above the faucet with a symbol that the water was not drinkable.

Ideally located for travel through St Pancras or Kings Cross stations. Hotel tucked away in a quiet street a few minutes walk from both. Good service. As I was leaving very early in the morning and they allowed me to have breakfast early before the normal opening time. The single room I had was clean, fairly comfortable with a digital TV and was a good size for a single room with good size en-suite bathroom.

The hotel was actually quite okay. No, there is no possibility to have dinner (it is a budget hotel), but the rooms I stayed in were quite large, clean and comfortable. Another good thing is that you are just on a 1 minute walking distance from the St Pancras/Kings Cross (underground) station.

Great location & friendly reception. Breakfast a bit crasily busy- don't stay in the basement if you don't want to hear this noise in the morning. Lovely lady runs it though & good food. Luggage room tiny, but fun if you like mountain climbing! Nice & comfy, warm, great location near station.

Very helpful reception staff who arranged for us to have our inclusive continental breakfast at 0430 so that we could catch the first Eurostar. Small compact room but had all the essentials and probably the best hotel showers I have ever used.

We chose this hotel for its location near to St. Pancras station since we had to stay overnight between a Eurostar train and a Heathrow flight. Indeed it was a mere block and a half away. The hotel was completely remodeled unlike so many London "low budget" hotels. My only complaint would be that the wifi did not work even thoush I purchased the service. They refunded my money and I went around the corner to an internet cafe and got online with my computer. As I said, location....

Hotel was very well loacted for Rail and central London. Very clean, friedly satff and great breakfast. Room was small and had stud walls. YOu could hear people in rooms accross the corridor just talking and next doors shower was very noisy. Thankfully evrey one seemd to go to sleep by 11.30 so OK. If someone had been watching televison untill 2 in the morning is would have been a problem.

i asked 2weeks before going to change the room to a dble bed when arrived it was still the same twin room in the attic noisey.after explaining to staff about dble pre booked no response after phoning you on my mobile for 20mins still no response

Conveniently located near Kings Cross, but on a quiet street. Clean, good for quick overnight stay, reasonably priced, though I did not try their breakfast.

Terrific Value, Staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was quite good. Location was exceptional. Bed was comfortable. We stayed 8 nights and were very satisfied. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was simple, but comfortable. The staff was exceptionally nice and accomodating. The rooms were small, but that was to be expected. The bathroom was clean and pleasant. The location is very near the Kings Cross transportation hub, and there are several pubs, fast food restaurants and convenience stores nearby. We would recommend it for travelers looking to spend moderately for a basic hotel with a great location.

My room was tiny, however, I knew that before I arrived. Service was average as you would expect being a budget hotel. The best thing is the location next to Kings Cross and Underground station

I am only recommending this hotel because of its very convenient location to the Eurostar terminal. Room was small but acceptable by European standards with private bath). Room did have a/c--which is not typical for all small hotels in England (though you need to make sure you get the "correct" remote contol upon chek-in (I went through multiple iterations before I got the right one). It is right off Birkenhead Street which is right off of the main street outside the terminal (south side).

This hotel would be ok for anyone who needs a night before traveling out at St Pancras or Euston stations, but for families staying in London, it was disappointing. The rooms are really small, but it does have a nice bathroom. TThere was no hot water in the evening and we could not figure out the air conditioning. The biggest problem is that you can hear sirens all night. It did not feel like a safe neighborhood. We left too early to try the breakfast (doesn't open until 7 AM))although the desk clerk did say they could open it for us for some items. I would not stay here again.

The room we had was clean, comfortable and the staff kindly let us check in before the due time, which was great. The only problem we encountered was travelling as a family of one parent and one child of 17 and one of 9 meant that we were catergorised as a couple with a child. The web site would not allow the second adult to be a child of the family so bed arrangements were not optimum. That said, the hotel was well placed for the tube and Eurostar and the staff were kind and helpful.

Very friendly and helpful hotel staff. The only complaints with the hotel were the bed feeling like a comforter over wood and door keys which didn't always work.

The staff was very amiable and accommodating. My husband was unable to negotiate the stairs with his luggage due to back surgery and our room was switched the next day.The location of this hotel is great. It is 1 block from the train station. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms were very clean. It was also nice to have breakfast in the morning. We would not hesitate to go back.

Small stuffy room, but convenient
