The single best feature of the hotel is probably the location. It is ideal. You can walk to almost all the important sights in Budapest. Or if you prefer to use public transportation, you are right next to a major subway station containing three lines that will take you just about anywhere in the city. You are also close to good restaurants for lunch/dinner and coffee shops for breakfast. The hotel itself is excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. (The concierge made several dinner reservations for us.) Our room was spacious and quiet. Our only quibble--we could have used a little more closet space and another arm-chair. Moreover, the hotel has all the amenities you would expect from Le Meridien. Indeed, I would use this hotel if traveling to the city on business.

Probably the most perfect tourist location. Immediately adjacent to the city's main Underground and Bus /Tram hub and also within 10 to 15 mins walk of all the key tourist sites. Many restaurants within a very short walk. Hotel itself was very good with the rooms, cleanliness and staff all excellent. A real bonus was a room with both silent air conditioning or windows that opened !! A real benefit in temp's of 30 c + Certainly a very good Hotel, would stay there again, especially on a 3 nights for 2 deal

We arrived with missing luggage (they say that's not unusual there), and the front desk person couldn't have been nicer to us. She was comforting, and reassuring that the luggage will get there. A bit of confusion at check-in as The front desk couldn't find our reservation. They gave our room to another guest with similar last name. They made up for it with an upgrade though. We had a parkside large room with a king bed, and a great view. The concierge folks were excellent with reservations to concerts, operas, tours, and directions. Very helpful, and anxious to help. The bath-room amenities (towels, shampoos, soap, etc) were very sparse. We had to ask for extra bar of soap (there was one in the room), and shampoo (they don't provide any). They still live in the soviet/communist era mentality. The breakfast buffet is a bit over-priced, although it looked of high quality. But at 26 euro, who cares how well it looked or tasted. Overall, great hotel, well located, with terrific and helpful staff (just ask for extra soap). The price-value connection (sans breakfast) is there. Enjoy! Budapest is a world class great city. May be 10 years behind Prague though (We were told intentionally). They have all individual "pieces", just haven't figured out how to put them all together. The 100's of young people hanging out in the Park nightly "pounding" beers and liquor from bottles was a bit disturbing. So was the graffiti. Nothing to do with the hotel.

My daughter and I stayed at the hotel for five days and liked everything about out experience. Across the three hotels we stayed at on our European trip, this was by far a standout. The hotel is located 5 minutes from the Danube, 2 minutes from the most central subway (which sells fabulous pastries), across the street from a lovely park, close to shopping and restaurants as well as many other attractions. The hotel itself was immaculate and our room was perfect. We would definitely stay there again. The staff of the hotel was always extremely helpful and thoughtful. We hope to stay at this hotel again.

Le Meridien Hotels are usually VERY expensive and I had never stayed in one. I was surprised to find these prices with hotels.com!!! in fact, the rates they had published at the front desk when we checked in were 6 times what we had pre-paid!!! The location was great, we walked everywhere! They do have parking, but quite expensive!!!. Breakfast NOT included and extremely expensive...

Le Meridian Hotel is perfectly located. It is right in the middle of everything you need to see in Budapest. Conveniently located by a subway station. I recommend this Hotel, we were very satisfied!

From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, the staff were curteous, efficient and friendly. The hotel is ideally sitauted for a walk to the Parliament, Castle, Market Hall, Basilica and is just above the Metro line out to Hero's Square. It cannot be beat. The service is attentive and helpful, as one would expect. The location's great, especially if it's your first time in Budapest. What I liked best: the hotel bar is awesome. What I liked least: ZERO benefits for Starwood SPG Gold.

This hotel was within walking distance of all the sights, restaraunts etc. The room was spotless & dressing gowns & slippers are supplied. All toiletteries are refreshed daily. Breakfast is expensive at 28 euros but there are plenty cafes nearby & Annas cafe do the best omeletes around. The city tour leaves from outside the hotel every hour & is well worth the money, you get a voucher included for a 1 hour boat trip on the Danube that can be taken any time & this was also very good.

We found the hotel excellent and the staff were very good, but at times quite stiff. The food was exceptional in restaurant and the service far exceeded that which we received in restaurants in the city. Lovely large rooms and the bathroom had a seperate bath and shower. What is also quite good is the room has a little corridor that leads to the bedroom, which minimises any noise disturbance. Overall, fabulous hotel.

When I booked, I had no idea where to stay in Budapest and chose it because I had stayed at the Meridien in London, and knew its high reputation. It turned out that it was the best location, within walking distance of everything, close to the Chain Bridge which connects Pest with Buda. They gave us a beautiful room on the top floor with curved skylight windows that opened out onto the most spectacular view, especially at the illuminated buildings at night. The blinds were motorized. The king size bed was very comfortable. There is a fitness room on the floor below. All the staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough for us, recommending the best tours and local restaurants. This is a 5* hotel with very good value and the hotel experience enhanced our visit to Budapest and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

My wife and I stayed at Le Meridian Budapest for a long weekend. The service was excellent throughout, the bedroom very comfortable and the location was second to none. In particular the service of the concierge was amazing and I would reccomend you seek their advice on anything you are considering doing. The only complaint we had was that the door to our shower leaked so there was always a substantial puddle on the floor when you got out from the shower and also there was a bit of mould in the corner of the shower cubicle. Nothing too bad but not really what you expect from a 5* establishment. All things considered we would definitely go back there again (location can't be bettered really) so the small negatives didn't really take away from the positives too much.

The Meridian gives you a first class service without imposing on you or your stay. We were in a deluxe room that overlooked the square and it was perfect. Room and maid service excellent. Large LCD TV with internet service...... always a must. Rooms were spotless and had large bathrooms. The concierge service was second to none. Providing umbrellas, taking coats, offering information, hailing taxis. All this came with broad smiles and sincere greetings and farewells. The lounge areas are large, sumpious, grand and very comfortable with service to match. We dined out every night and the some of the best restaurants are on the Meridians doorstep or a short taxi ride away

My room was all that could be expected for a top level hotel in the central section of Pest. But to charge $25 for a continental breakfast or $30 for an American breakfast in a country where a college graduate makes $10,000 a year is robbery. The expensive restaurant had excellent food, and its prices for dinner were in line with other top restaurants in the area. If you book a taxi to the airport through the hotel, the charge is 6500 forints. The charge should be about 4000.
