Myself and my boyfriend stayed in the trinity capital hotel for one night after seeing a show in Vicar St (which is only a short taxi ride away). Its in a wonderful location, just behind Trinity, and we walked comfortably to O Connel St the next day. The hotel was very funky, and the room was spotless and a nice size. We were at the front of the hotel, and while it was slightly noisy the next morning (9am onwards) we had no problems with noise that night. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The room was slightly on the warm side, and the windows cant be open so you've to use the AC which was fine, especially as our stay was so short. I'd definitly recommend this hotel for couples on weekend breaks away.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to stay in the City Center but not right in the mix of the Temple Bar. It is only a 5 minute walk from all the action. The decor is something else and you need to have a good sense of humor to fully enjoy it. Hotel staff very accomodating.

The room was very clean and nice and exceeded my expectations for the money spent. The free shuttle to and from the airport was a bonus. The location was far enough away from the noise of Temple bar, but close enough to walk to within 5 minutes. It was also very close to Grafton Street, Trinity College and other area attractions. The decor and color scheme was odd, but don't let that deter you from this great hotel. The odd decor provided a few good photo-ops! The only complaint I could mention is the noise from the fire house next door. If you are acclimated to living in a city, it shouldn't bother you.

The hotel is an attractive but lonesome place, with no buzz or atmosphere. The rooms are as previous reviewers warned, stiflingly hot with no air-conditioning and only a very tiny window to open. There appears to be no Irish staff to be found on he premises and the foreign staff have such little command of English that they come across as very cool. Our bedding was not changed during our stay from Friday through to Monday and although they did eventually drop a breakfast charge it hardly compensated! I don't recommend anyone stay at this hotel, nor do I recommend Dublin, it is staggeringly expensive, i.e a bottle of Magnams on 'special offer' at Euro 5.60 in a cheap pub, steaks at Euro 28.95 (excluding chips and veg) in a run of the mill restaurant and small bottles of coke at Euro 2.60.........etc. etc. etc.

We found Trinity Capital to be perfectly located for our brief stay in Dublin. Within walking distance to everything. A long walk to Guinness Storehouse though, possible with comfortable shoes and proper attire for sudden showers. Quirky decor is quite interesting and the rooms were quaint. On the small side but definitely manageable for 2 persons. Bathrooms very nice and recently updated. Would stay here again for sure.

We arrived early for a one-night stay and there was no problem checking-in. We received a warm and relaxed welcome and were able to leave our luggage while we explored the city. Later on, we found our room clean and very comfortable, with rather opulent-looking decor. The hotel bar was very quiet when we visited it for a nightcap much later and the night's rest we had - despite the room facing the busy street - was surprisingly blissful. We'd go back.

The hotel was located in a great spot, very close to Trinity College, Grafton Street, Temple Bar and the river. The hotel was clean and tidy and reception staff very helpful. The value for money was very good. The only problem we had was the lack of air conditioning. There is no internal climate control (no choice of temperature) and as our room backed onto the fire station, there was constant alarms going off, which meant we could not keep the window open. Once the window was shut you could not hear the fire station.

Trinity Capital Hotel is beautiful. I think I read some describe it as what a hotel designed by Tim Burton would look like, and I'd have to say that fits. The room was attractive, especially the spacious bathroom, and the hotel seems to be in good condition. The staff however didn't impress really. We arrived late, but the employee that checked us in wasn't overly friendly and when we checked out there was a new employee that didn't understand that we had prepaid for our room, so the checkout took forever. They do have free wi-fi in the lobby, which was helpful, and it's only a few blocks to the bus center on O'Connelly and the Temple Bar area. I'd give it 5 stars for appearances, but 3.5 stars for overall exerience.

I found the Trinity Capital Hotel to be an excellent place to stay and value for the money. The rooms were very spacious along the lines of U.S. hotel rooms and were very clean and tastefully done. The ambiance of the hotel lobby, bar and restaurant were hip and appealing without attracting a loud crowd like those you may find on Temple Bar even though the hotel is a short walk away. The access to transportation and all the main sites was excellent and within walking distance. This hotel would be my first choice for where I stay the next time I am in Dublin.

In a Corporate World, one Hotel chain looks very much like the other but not this Hotel, it was different in so many ways blowing away the homogeneous image of other hotels. It was a pleasure to stay in this Hotel, the staff were friendly and helpful, the room clean and welcoming. The location of the Hotel is ideal just off Trinity and close to the centre of Dublin. However if you are traveling by car the hotel does not offer any off road parking. The nearest car park is in Fleet street with overnight parking working out around €9 and the normal daily rate of €3.50 per hour (Normal for Dublin Centre)

I stayed for one night. My room was small and comfortable but the service in the hotel was appalling. I was waiting to be served for long periods each time in restaurant. This is not good for business travellers. Internet service is not even basic. I was trying to download information and had to wait until I got to Dublin Airport for signal. The receptionist told me that was normal service for Ireland but this is not the case. There was no apology offered. Do yourself a favor and stay in Carlton at the airport. Same price and 10 times better.

I loved the colorful, ornately funky style of the Trinity Capital. The room and bathroom were very comfortable, clean and more luxurious than I expected. I had a surprisingly good dinner in the downstairs restaurant as well. The Air Coach bus that runs to the airport is a short walk away, as well as Trinity College and many other Dublin sights. Several days earlier, we stayed at the Morrison, a similarly rated hotel, but the Trinity Capital was a much better value.

You can't beat the location of this hotel -- right in the heart of Dublin City Centre, next to Trinity College and a two-minute walk to the store-laden O'Connell Street and the Grafton Street pedestrian mall. The hotel staff ranged from quietly pleasant to really friendly (the night bellhop/watchman was particularly nice). They are all extremely knowledgeable of the area and how to get to tourist attractions. The rooms are regular-sized. Get a courtyard room so that you aren't right over the firehouse. I stayed in a courtyard room and barely heard anything. The cleaning is fairly good, but little bits of paper from previous stays were left along the baseboard of the bed and under the nightstands. There are in-room safes, but they aren't anchored to anything. Security was fine though - we left a small amount of money out on the table one day, and it was still there, stacked neatly on our books and magazines. Wireless access is available but only downstairs (you might be able to get it in a first-floor room).

We had a standard double and couldnt have asked for anything more. The only one problem was the TV ariel was really bad! So if you need the television (which i doubt you will) be warned!

I was very pleased with Trinity Capital Hotel. It was our first time in Dublin and we wanted to see a lot of places in a short time frame, so we were very happy that all of the main attractions were a short walk from the hotel. While the decorations in general are a bit odd, the room was comfortable and had a modern bathroom. Others on this website complained about the fire station next door, but we had no problems during our stay. The staff was helpful - we arrived well before the check-in time, but had no problems getting a room. Overall, good value & good location - I would recommend this hotel to a friend.

i thought the hotel was good although the very dim lighting in the public areas together with the dark paint and carpets is a bit strange and made me feel like i was in the twilight zone. The room was lovely with good facilities and the hotel is in a very good location opposite Trinty College and handy for the shopping. The only downside is that the hotel is on a very busy road and the traffic noise is terrible if you have a room on the front (even at 4 am i was still kept awake) My suggestion is make sure you get a room at the back if you are not used to traffic noise or are a light sleeper.

An interesting themed style hotel in the centre of town ,so no need for taxis. The room was clean and very nice, the only downside was at night it got quite hot but to open the window would mean letting in the sound of traffic from the busy road during rush hour traffic in the morning. forget affiliated leisure centre with swimming pool. This meant going to sister hotel, picking up token.Finding Leisure centre down back street and then not being able to use the pool without swimming cap(apparently needed in Eire)The token had of course be returned to hotel! But apart from these 2 things a nice hotel,i picked it for the central location and the quirky furniture was fun!

First impressions included Hotel's surroundings, apparently derelict, boarded up buildings!? A touch disconcerting when arriving at night. Hotel decor also a suprise, won't be to everyone's taste. Lurid colours and bizarre 'grand' furniture & ornaments in lobby. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Room was large with very comfortable King size bed. Ensuite bathroom also generous size with jacuzzi. Generally in good condition, shower tiles could have done with decent clean. Jacuzzi controls were also damaged therefore difficult to use. As other vistors have noted, room was very hot at night and opening windows offered little relief. Had no issue with outside noise, i.e. as expected for City centre Hotel on busy road. Superb location, 5 min walk to River Liffey, Temple Bar area and other inner city attractions. Nice walk to Guinness Storehouse from Hotel, only took 20 mins. All in all, pleasant stay, perhaps a little over priced.

This would have been a nice hotel, if our room wasn't located overlooking the central fire station. They do ladder drills all hours of the night. The sirens are kept to a minimum so it is not much more than a normal downtown hotel, but they have a loud intercom system that keeps you up at night. No air conditioning so even in Sept. we had to open the window to the fire sta. below. Our fault for not asking for another room away from the fire sta. when we arrived. The halls were very dark with mirrors on all doors...a little strange. I would shop around for another hotel.

It is a funkily furnished modern looking hotel and looked really good online when I viewed it. The rooms are clean and very comfortable but quite hot with only a window for fresh air. My boyfriend and I were going to Dublin for a couple of nights (late ones) and wanted a comfortable stay in a nice hotel. However unknown to us this hotel is right next door to an active fire station; not mentioned when you book! The room was very hot so we opened a window which helped a little. After a late night we were awoken at 8:00am to the sound of tannoy announcements, the mechanics of a ladder being lifted, high pressure water hoses and sirens being tested. We complained and asked to be moved to a quieter room for our second night. The receptionist informed us ?all the rooms on the quieter side are fully booked?. This is obviously a known issue, all the niceties of this hotel don?t make up for the noise. Oh and if you put a do not disturb notice on the door to try and catch up on some zzz?s expect room service to call you to see if you really don?t want fresh towels! If you can sleep through anything this hotel will suit you. If not then I suggest somewhere a little quieter.

The location of the hotel is fine. Got the bus from the airport to O'Connell Street and a 10 minute walk from there. On the way back went to the main bus station which is also about 10 mins away. The price of the hotel for room only is quite expensive (But then again Dublin is NOT cheap). The breakfast cost 15 euros each for ful Irish and 12 euros for continental. Both are very good. You can get cheaper in town if you want to walk in. The hotel is well placed - just on the fringe of the bars etc so you do not get disturbed by night revellers. The only snag was our room backed onto the fire station come ambulance station which made it a little bit noisy. If you closed the window - as there is no air conditioning in the hotel - the room was rather warm. If you left the window open it was a little noisy. But the hotel was great as are the staff. Worth the money? Probably. Would I go back? Not to Dublin as too expensive but if I did I would go back to the hotel.
