Central location, room’s good size (superior). Good supply of toiletries and nice touch bright yellow towel slippers. Breakfast very basic, but enough choice to get the day started. All staff very pleasant and accommodating. Spoke very good English. Central to ancient Rome. Only managed to get one night on the roof top bar as closes second week in September (end of sesson).

We would recommend The Artimede to anyone who wants a well located hotel ,fairly close to the train station in central Rome. The Hotel is good value for money and the Reception Staff were excellent in helping us to plan our sightseeing trips etc.We paid a little extra for superior rooms and this was well worth the extra comfort and superior facilities. The rooms wer huge! The roof-top terrace bar was very relaxing and gave a panoramic view over the roof tops, but this is only open in July and August. One minor criticism was the fact that the lift servicing the superior block was often broken and it was also very small .Overall we would highly recommend this hotel. Thanks!

Overall, the staff was fabulous, the room was well-appointed, if smaller than a comparable room in the states, the bathroom was wonderfully equipped... My ONLY complaint about our stay was the heat. It may be that I'm just spoiled in thinking that air conditioning should be able to cool the room lower than 78F, but such was not the case in our room - it actually got increasingly hotter as we stayed in the room, and remained pretty humid as well. In any month other than August, I'd return in a heartbeat!

A very nice, updated, hotel that is only a few blocks from Termini rail station. The room was comfortable, clean, and air conditioned, which was greatly welcomed in the sweltering heat of August. Although the hotel is located on one of the busier streets in Rome, our room was very quiet. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and spoke English well. Highly recommend.

Hotel is smaller then I thought, but the rooms were decent size, and location was great. Tv's could use upgrading as they are tiny 15inch or something. The reception people were very nice and helpful, breakfeast and wifi were a plus, and the best was the location. 2 min walk from a water taxi stop. (although its over 2 bridges so make sure you are able to carry luggage up and down bridge stairs). small but nice seating area outside hotel with nice relaxing view. Away from the crowds of town, but just 10 min walk and you are in the middle of all the actions. nice place to relax and stay. Dont expect huge hotel though.

Just stayed at this hotel and I was very satisfied. Perfect location, close to the Termini station and local train station. Clean rooms, wifi, and excellent staff. Close to many sites. I would recommend this to other people if they want a nice hotel in a nice location. Only issue with the hotel is the size of the room. Very small for USA standards. Little smaller then rooms in Venice and Florence, but I was told that is how hotels are in Europe. Breakfeast was decent.

Wonderfully helpful, friendly and accessible staff. English-speakers were a huge plus when knowing so little Italian. Clean, comfortable rooms. AC throughout Rome seems virtually non-existent, and sadly our room felt similarly. Breakfast buffet is a great add and comes in handy when looking for a quick bite before heading out the door - though the variety each day leaves a little to be desired. Internet in business center was a little spotty on some computers, but overall was a great deal and exceptionally nice as it is open 24/7. Surrounding area is bustling with people, shops and eateries. Tabacchi shop and Metro station are steps away and extremely(!) useful in getting around beautiful Roma!

We were very pleased with the hotel. The room was wonderful and the free mini bar kept us hydrated (water, soft drinks and beer) during the hot hot last days of July. The front desk staff were very helpful with bus routes, directions, etc. The breakfast included bacon, eggs, cheese, cold meats, fruit, cereals, breads, a multitude of juices, etc. We enjoyed our free glass of bubbly on the rooftop as well. The hotel is within walking distance of many of the top 10 tourist sites though we did occasionally cough up a euro each to take the bus (64 goes to Vatican City and has all the right stops in between).

My husband, my son and I really enjoyed this hotel. It was in a great location - within walking distance of the train station and the metro (we walked everywhere, but took the metro too.) The hotel was very clean, the room and the beds were comfortable, and the service was great (everyone was very helpful and pleasant.) The full breakfast was a great way to start the day and we really liked to relax on the rooftop terrace at the end of the day while planning our evenings. Overall it was a great hotel!

We were there in late March, 2009. Location was near the train station -- very convenient for arrival, departure, and for taking the metro around the city. The staff was outstanding -- very helpful and accommodating. The free breakfast was fabulous, and was so nice that we were able to eat a big breakfast before a long day of exploring. (They had hot food, fresh fruit, cereals, and the pastries and breads/muffins were to die for!!) Our daughter who was studying abroad met us in Rome, and the room was very roomy even with three of us sharing it. If I ever get back to Rome, I would definitely stay at the Hotel Artemide again.

The "American Breakfast" left a little to be desired but the hotel had a complimentary mini bar. I would stay here again without question.

The hotel is very centrally located, a short walk from many Rome attractions. The rooms are small, but modern, clean, bright, with good bathrooms. The included breakfast is very good, and the mini-bar (water, soda, beer, snacks) is free and replenished every day. The various internet/TV deals are at US prices (low and reasonable), not the usual European ripoffs. All in all, a very good experience.

i spent a little more money than i usually would on a nicer hotel because i was traveling alone (young woman) and wanted to be sure I felt secure and safe in a nice hotel. This one was great. Staff spoke English well and were helpful in giving directions. Internet service is perhaps a little pricey for a short stay, but well worth it if you stay a few days. (When i went it was 12Euro for the length of stay to use wifi in room, lobby, etc and also use business center computers and printers--very nice and equipped for skype, etc with headsets and microphones). Decent light breakfast, room not huge but big enough and none in Europe are very big anyways. The bathroom was very nice and more spacious than others I'd been in. (I stayed in a standard double.) Everything in the minibar was free--bottled water and soda--so that was really nice to have that available in the room always. Nice little shampoos and soaps and slippers for in the room. Overall it's not cheap, but a very nice place to stay. I walked most places I wanted to see from the hotel (ancient sites including forum, campo de fiori, spanish steps, trevi, etc). You need to take a bus or cab to get to vatican city across the water or if you've already walked in that direction to see other things you could do it on foot. I took the metro from the train station to the nearest stop and walked to the hotel when I first arrived--no problems, very quick, but was so tired after a long trip I had the hotel book me a car to the airport--reasonably priced and right on time to pick me up. Overall great location and services. Highly recommend.

All understood/spoke english, making communication a breeze. The breakfast is terrific and the free mini-bar was a nice touch. No nasty surprises whatsoever. Via Nazionale is a busy street, but the location was safe and within convenient walking distance to major attractions. Our room (toward the back) was quiet, clean and comfortable.

A great hotel, conveniently located for all the major sites - 10 mins from the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps. Our room was at the back so very quiet and the service was great. Regular room cleaning, free mini bar whch was refreshed on a daily basis, a great breakfast with plenty of choice. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. They say if you need anything give them 30 seconds and they'll get it - and it wasn't just marketing speak, they really did. Only shame was that the roof terrace wasn't open - despite the beautiful May weather, they only open it in July/August. However, I'd still definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a great stay in Rome and will certainly be going back.

Hotel was well located and within 20 min walking distance of Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps, but no need to walk there as there is a 'hop-on-and-off' tour bus which you can buy a pass for at the hotel and use throughout your stay. Rooms were kept really clean. I had heard that hotel rooms in Rome were very small so I booked the superior room which was still small but adequate ( smaller than the photograph suggests), bathroom was good size though. Mini bar in room was free and stocked up each day with 1x Fanta, 1x Coca Cola, 2x Lager, 4x Water. Free tea and coffee making facilities were also in the room, along with little snacks like biscuits and nuts, also trouser press ,hair dryer, t.v, slippers, bathrobe and towels. We were given 2x complimentary glasses of sparkling wine in the hotel bar which was a nice surprise. Dont buy a drink in the bar without looking at the prices first, a glass of brandy was £15, a bottle of lager was £7. Dont let this put you off, just dont have a drink in the hotel (except for those complimentarys of course!). Staff were really pleasant and very helpful, hotel looked lovely on the outside and doesnt dissapoint on the inside. Breakfast room was really nice too and there are no complaints about breakfast itself . Would stay there again, overall a lovely hotel. If visiting the Vatican City, remember it is closed on a sunday.

The Artemide is exceedingly well located and suits my travel style -- which is premised on preference for significant walking -- about 20-30 minutes walk to every major attraction in Rome. Room was very clean and very, very quiet. Bathroom was modern, and while it had a shower stall which I prefer in a hotel room, the stall is tiny and seemed perfectly constructed to ensure water flowed out onto the floor. A nice benefit is free juice, soda and water plus other goodies in the in-room fridge that was replenished daily (and large enough to allow other items bought from outside. Hotel staff are exceptionally accommodating and helpful with directions and service. You can walk to the train station with ease to catch trains to other cities. The only downsides, as with most European hotels under a couple hundred dollars per night are: the beds are great if you like sleeping on a rock, and air conditioning is not as Americans are used to -- controlled in room by the customer (each room HAS adjustable air conditioning, but the hotel controls the master switch and spring is not a season for it to be on, so rooms can get a bit warm at night -- windows do open, but then you risk a mosquito attack)

The roof terrace was not open during our stay (only opens from 1 July) and we were dissappointed by this as it was one of the things that attracted us to the Hotel, so beware if you are visiting before July.
