Great location to explore both the lake and the city. Next to ferry. Small but comfortable rooms, but too small for longer stays. We stayed 2 days and were very happy.

Great location right on water and near fabulous stores and restraunts. Bathrooms are a little old school and rooms are outdated but the location and price could not be beat.

We had a great room with a great view! if you want to stay in the actual city of "como" i would reccommend this. however if you want to be discovering lake como i would for sure stay in vernazza or bellagio.

We got a great, though tiny, room overlooking the piazza and the lake. A little noisy from traffic when the window was open, but the view was really nice. Definitely get a view room. Pretty good for the money. Great restaurants and shopping right nearby.

Right across the street from the lake, very helpful, friendly staff. Room was very spacious, especially compared to other Euro hotels. Convenient to lake and downtown. Great place to stay.

Incredible room with a balcony overlooking Lake Como. Great staff and very convenient location. Walk to all the restaurants and quaint shopping area that constitutes "downtown" Como. Would definitely stay there again. Please note that if you're coming with a rental car, you need to reserve space in the hotel's garage before you arrive. They only have room for 8-10 cars. Parking at the garage is 15 Euro a night versus 20E a night at the public garage 2 blocks away.

The room was clean and in a great location, but the hotel staff was somewhat surly and provided little guidance to the city of Como and lakes region. Also, breakfast is not included and, while nice, is quite pricey.

Overall good value. Upgraded room for spectacular lake and mountain views from balcony. Noise from street was a bit disturbing as the local football team won that night. Would stay there again.

I was very curious about how my stay would be because it was my first experience with a rather upscale hotel. First off, I must say that my room was fantastic and the view of Lake Como worth the price. Bathroom was larger than my kitchen at home, and I fully enjoyed nice long baths in the evenings. Cons: Walls between rooms were a bit thin, as I could hear my neighbor on the phone and watching TV. However, when I went to take a walk in hopes of coming back to silence at 12:00 am, the front desk clerk offered to call up to the other room or give me another room, which I really appreciated. I was somewhat surprised that I was charged for breakfast ($12) each morning even though the hotel website says it is included in the room rate - be aware of this point. Overall, great location and I would stay here again in spite of the few issues.

Room was on main square in Como. AC was none-existent and the traffic noise was incredible. Room was clean and comfy despite the noise-level from street below. Location was great; across the street from the water taxis and directly next to the old town area. Very convenient.

Travelled to Lake Como for 6 days enjoyed our stay very centeral hotel on room only bases but did eat our breakfasst a few days

I only stayed at the hotel for one night, but it was a good experience. A couple of standouts - the restaurant was excellent. Also the young man managing the cars in the very small garage was very good. We had to leave early, and he had our car all ready to go with no obstructions, which was quite an accomplishment! The room was large, especially the bathroom, which had a huge tub. The room is a little old but not bad for European standards. Very comfortable. Like most hotels, the king was really 2 twins, but at least there was one fitted sheet over both, which was better than what we found elsewhere! Beautiful location right across the street from the lake.

The hotel is in a good spot if you are going to stay in Como for your visit to the lake. It is just a couple of blocks from the Duomo and to the ferry station. The rooms are a decent size and comfortable. The hotel staff is warm and helpful, if not overly friendly. The only negative was that breakfast was not included for this hotel and it was definitely NOT worth the 12 Euros per person price!

Location on lake is good. Biggest problem we had was poor air conditioning. The room was VERY HOT with the AC turned as cold as it would go. Very little cold air was coming out. Was very uncomfortable. Room was very unimpressive but did have a good lake view.

Positioned by lake and close to shops, restaurants and travel links. Room very clean and well serviced with lovely view over lake. Only draw back is noise from the busy main road below which continues all night, but full closure of night shutters helps a bit! Lakeside engineering works also quite noisey early morning..... Not for the light sleeper!!

Whilst the hotel overall was good. The attitude and service of the reception staff was poor.

Great location, literally across the street from Lake Como. Great views from the hotel. Wonderful location to explore the old city of Como. Rent a car and drive to Bellagio. Take the funiculare (train up the mountain) to Brunate. Excellent value for the money. Staff spoke English and was very helpful.

This hotel is in a fabulous location to spend time in Como, enjoy the lake; and travel by bus,train or ferry boat is really convenient! Room and bathroom updates would certainly enhance the experience! The accomodations are dated and the bathroom was extremely cramped. The hotel staff was marvelous - friendly and accommodating! We were given a lakeside room with a view and a lovely enclosed porch which we really enjoyed! The hotel staff and location allowed us to enjoy a wonderful week.

The location of the hotel is central Como, overlooking the piazza and lake. We had a balcony, but the other rooms windows opened too. The room and the bathroom were spacious. The staff so friendly and helpful. There were solid balcony doors and a metal shutter to keep out sound and light, if wanted. We would absolutely stay there again.

Hotel is in great location, but room we had faced the lake and on a windy night could not get any sleep as it sounded as though the window was going to shatter at any second. Front desk treated us as though they were doing us a favor by allowing us to stay there, and the breakfast is grossly overpriced for the quality and what is offered.

THis hotel was just tops. great service with advise on everything. close to either train station (within blocks) and right onthe lake. Fabulous views.

Ottima posizione praticamente sul lago. Colazione ottima. Camera confortevole salvo il bagno un pò vetusto. Personale cordiale e disponibile. La struttura avrebbe bisogno di una ristrutturazione interna anche se ordinata e pulita

Das Hotel ist wunderschön, tolle Einrichtung mit schönen antiken Möbeln und Gemälden, wunderschöner Essaal und neu renovierte Bar. Zimmer war eher etwas klein, aber genügend und gut funktionierend. Tolle Aussicht.

Was uns gut gefallen hat: + Die Lage ist einfach klasse: direkt am See und in absoluter Nähe der Altstadt. + Auch wenn das Hotel etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist, hat es Stil. Der Preis war zwar kein Schnäppchen, aber angemessen. Was uns weniger gut gefallen hat: -- Leider waren wir in einem Raucherzimmer untergebracht worden, was deutlich zu riechen war. Ein Nichtraucherzimmer war nicht verfügbar, da das Hotel ausgebucht war. - Wir mussten auf ein öffentliches Parkhaus ausweichen, da die hoteleigenen Parkplätze belegt waren. Dies war teuer und ist ärgerlich, wenn man viel Gepäck hat. - Obwohl unser Zimmer zur Seite gelegen war, war es laut - schlafen bei geöffneten Fentser war für uns nicht möglich. Dies ist jedoch angesichts der sehr zentralen Lage (s. o.) verschmerzbar. - Der Fernseher war sehr klein (48cm?), und es gab nur wenige deutsche Programme: ZDF, sat.1 und 3sat. Aber man fährt ja nicht an den Comer See, um im Hotelzimmer fernzusehen.

als wir am morgen duschen wollten, kam nur ein rinnsal aus der brause. das bad stand unter wasser, da wenn man den haupthahn unterhalb des lavabos nicht zudrehte, tropfte es auf den boden, das hotel hat auch keinerlei anstalten gemacht, uns z.b. das frühstück zu erlassen
