Capistrano Seaside Inn - Dana Point

Hotel was a dump.Paint peeling off walls in bathroom.Not clean at all.Could be cute if they put some work into the place.

We ignored our friends when they told us to find accomodations early for the 2009 Doheny Blues Festival. Needless to say, I'll never do that again. By the time we I finally got around to finding a room a realized that everything in the area that was reasonably priced was already booked. I started to panic, but then I found that this place still had rooms available. Now I know why. The room was FILTHY! I'm a guy...I can take a loot, but this place was absolutlely disgusting. All of the furniture had a brown dirt line about two inches from where it made contact with the tile floor. Light fixtures were broken, bathroom fixtures had dust...no scratch that, dirt in all of the crevices. The first night we stayed there we figured no big deal, right? Our fault for not booking early. When we returned to our room from the first day of the festival, we were looking forward to relaxing in front of the postage stamp size T.V, but when we got to our room we found out that the hotel doesn't offer maid service...that's right, no clean towels, no clean sheets, no one that comes by and moves the dirt from one side of the room to the other. Don't get me started on the bugs. I did read the reviews before I committed to booking there but i figured that people were exagerating...they're not. This place made me really appreciate my shower, once we finally got home. I've stayed in nicer rooms in Tijuana...seriously! If you have to stay here, bring extra towels.

I had read the reviews of this hotel and didn't expect a whole lot. But this place was so bad, we didn't even stay. The owner said he would cancel the reservation, so I certainly hope he did. The room we were given smelled like rotten eggs and the floors were filthy. We were supposed to have two beds and there was only one. I figured we'd give another room a chance, so I went to the manager and told we were given the wrong room, he was very uncooperative and just kept handing me the keys back to the original room. He said they had nothing else. I told him the room was unacceptable and he wrote cancelled on my reservation and we left.

Hotel staff was very helpful. Great view, literally across the street from the beach (30 sec drive, 4 min walk).

This place had a lot of character, but it is not for the faint of heart. Could use some work and a good cleaning, but it was right across the street from the beach, and that's what we went for.

The staff we excellent vary nice and accommodating

The room was filthy to say the least. Also was false advertising about "very discreet hot tub". There wasn't one. Would never go there again or recommend it to anyone. Looked nothing like the ad on your site. Go there yourself and see what I mean. What a joke.

over priced

It was a great little getaway. The room could definastely use some good cleaning, bathroom floors were a little gross. Right next to the beach and pretty qiet except for the train that comes through alot! Not for light sleepers!

The operators were very nice and made every attempt to serve us. However, when we arrived your service had not sent our reservation to the motel operators. We got a room, but not what we thought we were getting, there were honking passenger trains running directly in front of the hotel so a nap was out of the question, there was supposed to be a fireplace, our unit did not have one.

Please be honest, I personally called the Hotel after booking the Hotel on Hotels.com. The manager told me I would like the room and it was great for our first anniversary. The hotel grounds are dirty, the office are is worn out, and the rooms smell of smoke, ash, and curry. Very disappointed.

You need a rental car to get anywhere. Public transportation is not close to the hotel. The rooms are small. The best thing about this hotel was the air conditioner. Gig the guy in charge did speak no English. The breakfast was the best thing that the hotel offered. If you are trying to save a buck it is a good way but other than that get a hotel in Laguna and pay the extra dollar.

To begin my stay, my reservations were incorrect. The room was in disrepair and carpet and furniture were badly stained. Because my reservations were not correct, I was forced to have an additional adult share my room and she had to sleep on a sofa sleeper which was in VERY poor condition. Location was great for the event I was attending, but next time I'll sacrifice the convenience.

Says "refurbished" but looks like it was just painted (sloppily); spa is empty and non-working; bed comfy; room very noisy (but we knew that); very old fixtures in need of major repair; shower was okay; front French doors with garage sale draperies that drug on the ground;paper thin walls; one-serving coffee maker; no wet bar; huge black wood stove that overtook the room space;saltillo tile thruout; continental breakfast not presented well (packaged bagels, etc); dry and broken Spanish style fountain in front.........just don't bother, People.

Stay somewhere, stay anywhere else! This place is run down and dirty, way overpriced, and a huge disappointment.

Very nice stay. The only catch is the train. It was no bother though. The location for this hotel is awesome. My friends and I had an amazing vacation. The people that own this cute place were very nice as well. Make sure they let you choose a clean room. They are very good about meeting your expectations.

have the hotel put in new matresses, the ones they have bow to the middle, be able to close the bathroom window that is proped open with a water bottle

The train was a surprise. Staff was nice but hard to understand. Not all rooms have been renovated.

Really liked the wood burning fire place, the service, and the location across Pacific Highway from Capistrano beach. This hotel is best for a short 2 or 3 night stay. The traffic and trains go by in the night. I did like the train whistles. Could also use some updating of rooms, but I like the quaint cottage feel.

Shower did not have hot water or any water pressure. Walls in bathroom were exetremely dirty.

One of the blankets had hair all over it. There was hair and dirt on the bed sheets.
