Hotel Terminus - Ámsterdam

This place is fine if you are just partying in the red light district. the location is very central. However it sits RIGHT next to a church that rings its bells A LOT starting at 8am. Room and halls were a little dirty and run down. I was not impressed.

I read reviews on here before I went and decided to go even though some reviews we're bad...you can't always go on reviews and most seemed ok. First ff the hotel is right on the door of the red light district, you just have to walk a matter of meters from the hotel....not saying it's a problem but could be for some. Next is the look of the hotel, nice from the outside but room was quite messy and had been smoked in even though it was a non-smoking room. Light switches hanging off, tv didn't work but bed was clean as was bathroom.. The church bells mentioned in other reviews weren't heard at all so my guess is it's down to the room your given as to wether you hear it or not, but there is ear plugs supplied. The hotel is very close to the train station and main high street, staff we're polite enough. I'd say based on a three star hotel, i'd give it 3 stars. It's ok as long as you know the above problems then it should be a pleasent stay

It was impossible to make or to receive phone calls in the room, the internet connection was 25 Euros/day, one morning there was no hot water since the boiler was down etc

this hotel serves a breakfast with a variety to choose from, i enjoyed it very much. the bed and comforter were extremely satisfying. the surrounding area offered great food. close to everything, 1 block from red light district and lots of souvenir shops. very short walk from Centraal Station, which runs from airport to downtown.

This hotel is ideally situated a short walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station and major tram stops and is friendly, comfortable and reasonably priced. There is work going on now to upgrade some areas of the hotel. Some reviews mentioned no lift- but there is one now, and so it's very easy to get to one's room.

Ideally situated, efficient and inexpensive

This hotel was great! I was skeptical when read other reviews that said the hotel was within walking distance of the train station, but it definitely is. It is a very secure hotel even though it located right next to the red light district. You are near everything, and the staff was also very helpful. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Amsterdam!

The shower curtain hugs your body when you try to shower - not appealing, especially considering there is mildew on the curtain. There is mold or mildew on the tile and also the ceiling. I paid for a business class room (air conditioned) but they tried to put us in an attic room without AC and then debated in Dutch for 20 minutes when I requested a room with AC. They have a new, strict non-smoking policy - not even allowing for "smoking rooms" - which really made the stay very unpleasant, but the worst was the shower curtain - always fighting it to keep it off your body while showering. The room however was adequately sized.

I chose Hotel Terminus solely for its optimal location (a block from the Grasshopper and two dozen other coffee shops, two short blocks to the RLD). I read some pretty bad reviews on various different websites, but it seemed like every hotel in Amsterdam had bad reviews, so I went with it anyway. I was very pleasantly surprised for various reasons. We booked a double, and they upgraded us to a triple, since all doubles were taken. We were also allowed to check-in early, and the staff was very friendly (but not very knowledgeable ... oh well). The room was clean and a lot larger than I expected, and it was everything you could ever hope for in a 2-3 star European hotel. I booked another room there at the last night of our euro-trip, and got the same level of quality. If I ever go back to Amsterdam, I will definitely stay there again.

For the money it was a nice place to stay, but having said that if it is warm and w/o air conditioning noise from area is high at all hours of day and night.There are things to recommend this hotel it is very convenient to lots of area attractions. But leaving ear plugs in each room is a give away to noise. The breakfast was a good bargain. On a budget or partying late at night would make this a very good value.

close to central station and main street, but it is adjacent to a pub where there was public performance there. anyway general condition is good. When I was living there the lift was out of order so that I gotta walk up the staircases with my luggage.

In terrible state of disrepair. It should be termed a hostel rather than a hotel. They could not seem to understand the concept of a wake-up call.

Great room for the money.Great location for partying in Amsterdam.

Overall I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is really close to everything (redlight, shopping, museums, etc.) but very quiet and peaceful. The Train station is a 5 minute walk. The staff is very professional and if you ask the right people they can tell you where all the good spots are (in my case the Clubs).

Considering the average low quality of the 2 -3 star hotels in the hart of central amsterdam, this hotel is a good choise. Nothing to complain about concerning standard, service etc.

Perfekt läge, nära centralstationen. Bra service. Trångt rum men vi sov bara där. Gott om barer och restauranger i området.

Très bien situé, tout près de la place de Dam et de quelques Coffees de bonne qualité, plus que satisfaisant au niveau de la propreté. Un petit souci au niveau de l'écoulement de l'eau dans la douche mais rien de sérieux. En tous cas, j'y retourne sans problèmes !

Et vanlig ok hotel.

The best thing about this hotel is the central location. Considering the low price, the rooms and facilities are great. There was no minibar in my room, and the walls seemed thin but that was not a real problem. Be aware of the church bell nearby ringing regularly but not during the night. I didn't use the restaurant or bar since you have everything around the corner.

Hotellet ligger centralt, nära centralstationen, precis utanför Red Light District och bara några meter från en polisstation. Bra, tryggt och billigt.

Hotellet er ikke noget særligt, men det ligger perfekt midt i red light distrikt og tæt på banen - få dog ikke et værelse ud til hovedgaden

Das Hotel Terminus im Herzen Amsterdams ist absolut weiter zu empfehlen. Es liegt sehr zentral, da jedoch in einer Seitenstraße, nicht im absoulten Lärmmittelpunkt wie z.B. die Hotels am Damrak. Der Hauptbahnhof liegt in sichweite und auch zum Stadtmittelpunkt sind es höchstens 5 min zu Fuß! Das Hotel selbst ist sehr ordentlich und sauber, wenn auch von außen unscheinbar. Es war ausreichend ruhig, wenn auch nicht absolut ruhig, bedingt durch die Nähe zu Restaurants usw. Die Zimmer sind nett eingerichtet und recht großzügig. Für ein 3 Sterne Hotel absolut ausreichender Komfort! Wenn nach Amsterdam, dann wieder ins Terminus!

Bon hotel (Bien placé et chambre spacieuse) mais un peu cher quand on rajoute la taxe de ville (15 euros supplémentaires).

Hotel sympa, un peu tortueux pour acceder a sa chambre (pleins de demi niveaux !!) Sinon chambre impeccable et proximite avec tout

es hat ein super lage,ein super nettes personal,aber die zimmer sind etwas sehr klein und es gab auch manchmal heizungsausfall!die sauberkeit ist auch sehr gut gewesen!
