The location was very convenient and the service was adequate but the cleanliness especially in the halls was poor. Room cleanliness was satisfactory but could have been better. The overall hotel could be much improved with minimal but badly needed renovation such as new carpeting in the halls, and interior wall paintng/covering.

The location is excellent, less than one block from the door of Paddington Station. Free wireless internet when I stayed here was a plus. Hotel was a bit run-down, but acceptable for the price.

I was aghast that this place can be called a hotel. I stay in London all the time and I know that space is at a premium and you get what you pay for. However, the other hotel I stayed at for the beginning of my trip was ten times better if no more. The first night I was there, I didn't want to touch anything. The room wasn't ready even though I got there in the evening. There was a problem with the drain. While I was waiting for them to sort it out, three other guests came down with complaints. The room was a slapdash attempt at a room. It felt like it belonged in a slum. The breakfast was a joke and served in the pool hall. People were eating standing up since there was no room. The guys were super nice, but it didn't make up for the horrid place.

The positves for this hotel were the price and the location. It was a great bargain as far as London hotels go. The location, virtually right outside the door of Paddington Station, was fantastic. Also, FREE Wi-Fi internet access attracted me to this location. Now, on the negative side, the hotel was old and in need of renovation. The carpet in my room was old and dirty and the bed matress looked bad too. They were installing new carpet in some of the rooms when I was there, so this may all be improved soon. The staff was friendly and curtious. If you are looking for a cheap hotel in London with a convenient location and free internet, you should consider this hotel. (but remember, it aint fancy!)

A very clean hotel in a very good location. The front desk staff was outstanding, very polite and couldn't be more helpful. Unfortunately, the room was in need of some maintenance. It looked as though there was some damage to the walls which were haphazardly repaired with joint compound that wasn't sanded or painted over. Some of the lights didn't work and I can't for the life of me can understand why an 11" television would be mounted on the highest point of the wall directly over the head of the bed. Made it very difficult to watch tv in bed. That coupled with the fact that there was no chair in the room, made it very difficult to watch it all. The bed was very comfortable and the linens and towels were clean. The only real complaint I had was that the female bartender had a really bad attitude and treated me as if I was a second class citizen. Aside from that, it's a good hotel for the reasonable price they charge for the room. They also gave you 15% off of the italian restaurant next door which was really good. If you're just looking for a comfortable place to sleep, this place fits the bill.

The hotel is close to Paddington station which made getting around London very easy. The daytime front desk staff was friendly and helpful. As expected, the room was small. There were some stains on the carpet and a few cracks in the tile in the bath; however, there was sufficient space for my luggage, the bath was clean and the linens on the bed were fresh. If your wish is to see London (not just the hotel lobby), this hotel is very convenient.

This room was not even on the hotels premises, filthy carpets , A WASHING MACHINE AND SINK 1FT FROM MY BED ! it was like a converted bedsit , I will never return and emplore other guests not to waste their money

After reading reviews in trip advisor- I was not looking forward to my stay- I was pleasantly surprized . It was a bit noisy on Sunday night but hey, the location and room made up for the noise. I will stay here again if it is available for the price I am willing to pay.

The Hotel was in very poor condition. Needed modernizing and decorating. We were there for three nights. The lift only worked for the first night. We were on the forth floor!! Great exercise!! Breakfast was good. Bed was clean and comfortable. Recepion area non exsistant. Excellent for Paddington Station and underground. Definately would not stay there again.

I had a relatively good experience at the hotel. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was nice with new tile, sink, and shower. The water pressure was great, and the water was nice and hot. The room was comfortable as well, with a nice window overlooking the street. The bad part about the hotel was that my room was on the 5th floor with no elevator, so I had to lug my suitcase all the way up the stairs, which was terrible. If you don't mind walking up tons of stairs, then this is a good hotel for you in a residential area of Paddington within 1 block of the tube and near multiple bus routes.

Hotel is very basic and slightly run down, although it looks like they are in the process of renovating. Staff were friendly. Room was clean, but our room was close to the road so slightly noisey. Breakfast was basic, but fine. I would recommend this hotel but only if you are stopping for one night, it is not somewhere to stay for a long period of time.

Great room for the money. Easy to get there from the airport. With train takes only 15 minutes.

we used this hotel as just somewhere to get our heads down.wouldnt recommend for families as the rooms are tiny!!24hr bar was closed!!very basic,but just ok for the price..

As for the cost and ideal location which is several hundred meters away from paddington, the room rates can't be beat. Unless, the 5 star(Paddington Hilton) is other travelers preference, but it will cost travelers arm and a leg. I believe those big hotels are catered for corporate clients who travel UK. Ascot Hyde hotel renovations and improvement is still going on and in progress. Hopefully the future rates will still remain reasonable with free breakfast. I won't mind staying again in the future on this fine hotel. After traveling 32 countries the last 10 years, I find this hotel standard much much more better than other hotel in other countries. Comparing the price I pay for the room in St. Petersburg; Tver & Moscow, Russia on the same type of hotel class, Ascot is the best and have excellent staff. Bottom line, all travelers or road runner want in hotel stay is a good service; cleanliness; location and comfortable/quite room.

I understand it is a "cheap" hotel, but it is way below the expected.The picture does not match. After entering the room I decided NOT to stay and preferred to lose the money. The room had 2 single beds and 1 double in a space fit for maximum 2 very narrow twins. The smell of mould is strong. Small TV. I almost thought that I should have brought my own food to cook in the room, in a fire made out of wood cllected outside, Looked unsafe, the room door did not lock prperly, etc.

If you are looking for a low budget hotel within walking distance of Paddington Station, I would say stay at the Ascot Hyde Park Hotel. Be ready for what you are getting for the money. Not a comfortable bed, pretty thin towels, if you want a remote for the TV you have to pay a deposit, breakfast is edible.

I was a little nervous when I first arrived at the hotel. It seemed very small and cramped. The stairways, hallways and elevators were tiny. The room was also small, but it was very clean, there was no odor or stale smell and the bed was very comfortable. The location was awesome. We realized this was more the norm in london especially in our price range. We ended up loving our little home away from home and basically couldn't complain.

Need I say more??? As well, the man at the front desk was very moody. It was smaller than small. I have stayed in many European hotels so I was ready for small but this was insane. The room smelled so bad because the toilet water kept bubbling back into the toilet when other rooms would flush. You could hear the near by train all through the night. The carpet looked dirty and there were huge water stains on the cieling. There was no remote for the tv. The curtains were torn and hanging half way down the window. The sheets were clean and the housekeeping staff was nice. Other than the toilet issue the bathroom looked clean but I was too scared to shower. I would not stay here again for free.

I picked this hotel for how close it was to Paddington Station and the price I was getting for the room and nothing else. If I was going to London again and did not have a stricked budget or a need to by near a specific spot then I would look for a much better place. The walls are thin and if you get put on the top floor(5th floor) the lift only goes to the 4th floor and you have to navigate the rest of the way on your own.

Och det låg väldigt bra till i London så vill man bara ha nån stans att sova så funkade det, ja om det inte regnar då!

Greitt og billig hotell om du bare skal ha for eksempel en overnatting. Veldig høylytt ifra andre rom. Og om man har rom nær heisen så hører man dette veldig godt når den er i bruk. Anbefalles ikke til flere sammenhengende overnattinger.

Generelt dårlig renhold både på rommet og ellers. Tett avløp i servant på badet. Umulig å regulere temperaturen på rommet.

Rummet var väldigt litet och toaletten trång. Foajen var väldigt liten o KALL. Personalen välvillig. Frukosten väldigt minimal och väldigt kallt och tråkigt.

Eftersom vi tidigare hade hört att hotellstandarden inte är den bästa i London tyckte vi att det var bättre att satsa på ett "sämre" och billigare hotell istället för ett vandrarhem. Därför hade vi inte särskilt höga förväntningar. Hotellrummet var väldigt litet och trångt för 4 personer. Man har knappt någon yta att gå på med 4 resväskor på golvet. Ofta tog det lång tid för vattnet att bli varmt, ibland upp till 5 minuter. Eftersom vi var där i början av januari var hotellrummet ständigt kallt. Det var som värst på nätterna, även om vi var fullt påklädda med koftor och sockor. Frukosten var helt OK och personalen var inte alls trevliga och arroganta. Det bästa med hotellet var det centrala läget med endast en 100 meter från närmaste tunnelbanestation Paddington.

Der var utrolig koldt i morgenmadslokalet. Ellers er det et fint hotel til prisen. beliggenheden er super.

Trångt, kallt, smutsigt. Gick inte att spola på taoletten emellåt. Kallt som tusan när vi kom till rummet och svårt att få upp nån vidare värme. Knappt nån duschstråle på toa. Ofta inget varmvatten. Det som var någorlunda positivt var frukosten och personalen i receptionen var inte otrevlig men inte trevlig heller. Det fanns inga täcken utan bara äckliga filtar i sängarna.

Mitt betyg säger väl allt. Trött personal, smutsigt rum, skabbig matsal.

Wireless internet fungerar inte på övre våningar pga svag signal. Väskor kunde bara öppnas på sängen pga lite utrymme. Ingen ljudisolering. Litet frukost utbud. TVn på tok för liten och högt uppe vid taket, ingen fjärrkontroll, 3 kanaler på engelska och resten på spanska & italienska.

L'hôtel n'est pas cher donc on ne peut pas trop en demander, mais il y a quelques soucis : salle de bain pas nickel, sèche-cheveux en panne (il chauffait sans ventilation et commencait à fondre...), lit peut confortable et le petit déjeuner ne commence pas avant 7H30 : trop tard quand on a un rendez-vous un peu tôt dans la journée ! Par contre, il est situé idéalement : à 2 pas de la gare de Paddinton et de la station de métro du même nom et son prix est très raisonnable pour Londres.

När vi kommer, lite för tidigt, för att checka in säger killen i receptionen att vi får vårt rum kl. 14 (enligt de uppgifter vi fått tidigare, helt O.K). Vi kommer tillbaka vid kl. 14 och får då besked om att det är problem med värmen i vårt rum så vi får bo i en lght istället. Där blir det strömavbrott och varmvattnet fungerar inte (kanske inte hotellets fel men ingen kompensation fick vi!). Vi fick ett rum på hotellet dagen efter däremot.

Med tanke på priset var rummet ok, bra läge nära tunnelbanan. Om man vill ha ett billigt enkelt boende nära city är det helt perfekt Det kunde dock vara lite fräschare på rummen, bättre städat. Dåligt med platser till frukosten och stadarden på frukosten kunde även vara lite bättre.

Ich hab schon einige Hotels in London erlebt und immer wieder waren sie besser beschrieben, als es dann wirklich war. Das war bei dem Hotel auch so - aber trotzdem ist das Haus für Low-Budget-Reisende empfehlenswert. Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Betten sind bequem, man hat rund um die Uhr warmes Wasser und auch das Frühstücksbuffet ist für einen Kurzaufenthalt okay. Großer Pluspunkt: Liegt an einem Verkehrsknotenpunkt!!

Ett mysigt litet hotell med lite skavanker, men vad har man att vänta i England till det priset. Helt suveränt rum med sköna sängar dock ett minus till hotellet och det var frukost matsalen, TRÅNGT.

Vi boede her for 16 år siden. Havde læst, at hotellet var blevet renoveret og fået en stjerne mere! Men ved ankomsten så det bestemt ikke ud til, at der var gjort noget ved hotellet i de mellemliggende år. Alt var som i 1992, eller ringere. Vores toilet virkede ikke og blev først lavet på 3. dagen. Morgenmadsrestauranten var så lille, at der nærmest var kamp om bordene. Flere måtte stå op og spise morgenmad. Prisen var efter vores mening i overkanten for dette hotel. Vi forhørte os allerede dagen efter ankomst på de omkringliggende hoteller, for at få et værelse her, og så være ligeglade med det vi havde betalt. Ved godt at hotelstandarden er ringere i London end i danmark, men det her var ringere end det var for 16 år siden. Så la' vær!!

Var afsted med 7 veninder på en forlænget weekend. Hotellet ligger lige ved siden af Paddington Station (2 min. gang) så det var perfekt i forhold til transport til centrum. Værelserne var fine, der var lidt problemer i starten med noget varme og et toilet der ikke ville skylle. Personalet gjorde deres for at få det bragt i orden, og de var søde og venlige. Dejlig morgenmad, spisesalen kan dog ikke rummer alle gæsterne, så nogle gange må man vente lidt for at komme til at sidde ned. Alt i alt havde vi en positiv oplevelse.

Inizio col dire che la foto dell'albergo che vediamo su molti siti compreso questo è ritoccata. L'albergo ha una porta d'ingresso minuscola e tutte le altre affianco sono negozio ristoranti. La struttura nel complesso è molto carina, le camere purtroppo sono piccoline ma almeno ogni mattina vengono pulite decentemente. All'interno c'è persino una sala hobby dove c'è un biliardo. Il personale si è rivelato gentile disponibile e simpatico e ha tentato persino di imparare l'italiano. L'unica pecca purtroppo era la colazione un pò troppo scarna. Vi consiglio comunque questo albergo per la vicinanza alla metro di Paddington che è collegata magnificamente con tutta londra e per il rapporto qualità prezzo! Buon viaggio ragazzi!

Hotel liegt ganz nach an der Haltestelle Paddington. Hatte mit meinem Sohn ein Dreierzimmer erwischt, das recht eng, aber sauber und ordentlich war. Frühstück reichhaltig, eine Schlange entstand an den nur 2 Vierer-Toastern. Personal freundlich, viele deutsche Gäste, auch Familien. Guter Ausgangspunkt an der Circle Line für das Programm des Tages. Gegenüber kleiner Supermarkt für Getränke etc. Abendessen nebenan im Maxim-Restaurant mit 15% Rabatt ist nicht großartig aber absolut o.k. Auch dort nette Bedinung. Wir hatten Zimmer nach hinten 'raus, war einigermaßen ruhig. Also: kann man m.E. gut buchen!

La façade de l'hôtel n'est pas très accueillante pour un 3*. Contrairement à ce qui est spécifié sur le site, les chambres ne sont disponibles qu'à partir de 13H30. Cependant, l'hôtel est bien situé (deux pas de Paddington)

Pas cher? Certainement! mais bien confort et central? Ni l'un ni l'autre. 3 nuits et 2 catastrophiques: réveil en fanfare à 5h30 "Mommy Mommy !". Le bonheur. Etudiants et familles "budget" sont la clientele de cet hotel. Ca sent la cigarette froide et c'est bruyant. Bref, on en a pour son argent.

Wir wurden in einem Nebengebäude ohne Lift im 2. und 3.Stock einquartiert. Es waren ehemalige Wohnungen. Die Schlafzimmer waren auf der Seite zur Strasse und dementsprechend lärmig. Es gab keine zusätzlichen Decken fürs Bett, deshalb kühl und ungemütlich.
