No complaints about this Hotel. Room was a good size by NY standards, clean and comfortable. We arrived at 2:30 pm and the room was not ready yet, by the time we had finished a coffee (Free but not very nice) the room was available. Everything else was very good, internet access available, excellent location, very near to the Empire State Building, Macy's, Times Square. Would recommend this hotel

We stayed in Hotel Chandler for 5 nights in September and thoroughly enjoyed the duration of our stay. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, our room (including en-suite) was spotlessly clean and the beds were the most comfortable beds that I have ever encountered in a hotel. Even though the hotel was located on the street next to the Empire State Building, we experienced very little noise at night-time and we therefore managed to get a great night's sleep every night. The hotel is in a good area (very close to Macy's and the Empire State Building). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in New York and would be very keen to stay there again if we ever decide to visit New York again.

I frequently stay in NY & have had mixed experiences at other hotels. It is located just outside of Koreatown, so it's convenient to Penn Station, Koreatown, wholesale jewelry/wedding accessory shops & a reasonable walk from Macy's, Times Square & Grand Central. There are subway stops at 33rd & 28th sts at Park, both a short distance away. I felt safe walking back to the hotel after midnight each night. When we checked in, the staff had a problem finding my hotels.com reservation, but they were friendly to me & I believe upgraded our room from the superior to the next level up. The room was small but very well laid out & there was plenty of room for 2 adults & a toddler to move around for short periods of time. Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable and the staff was very friendly, including the day doorman highfiving our toddler each time we came in & went out (much to the toddler's delight). There is a decent desk if you need to work in the room, but plug into the internet (they provide ethernet cable) as the hotel's wireless is spotty at best. They do not have a business center, but if you need things printed, just talk to the front desk & they will make arrangements for you. Will stay there again & recommend to friends.

I've stayed at Hotel Chandler several times and have never been disappointed. As is usual in NYC, the rooms are a bit on the small side but the whole place is very attractive and successfully projects the image of an upscale boutique hotel. I stay in the city regularly and Hotel Chandler is one of my favorites. It is good value for money if you are looking for a nice place to stay without the luxury price tag and are not a fan of large corporate establishments. Amongst the hotel's best features are its helpful and courteous staff, attractive decor and comfortable beds. There are minibars, bathrobes and a wide selection of complimentary brand-name toiletries in every room. The midtown location, just off Fifth Avenue, is also very convenient. The only downside is that the hotel's free WiFi connection is appalling. My computer was disconnecting every few minutes and this presented a significant problem for me as I was trying to get some work done. However, for non-business travellers I would highly recommend this place and if they would fix the internet connection, I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

Hotel Chandler is a great hotel for it's price. Few hotels in this same price range offer the level of service, comfort, and location that Hotel Chandler does. The room was small (even in the larger "deluxe" room), but well appointed, clean, and with an extremely comfortable bed. Bathroom included Aveda bath products and fluffy Frette linens. And, the staff was fantastic. When I was running late for my train (NYP only 4 blocks away) and I had to run back to the room to retrieve a forgotten phone, they had my luggage in a cab out front waiting. I will definitely book here again!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights and couldn't have been happier with the Hotel Chandler. The decor and cleanliness was great and the spa like shower head was amazing! The room was small (like all things in ny) but the mounted flat screen tv was great and cleared up some space. The location was great, just a few blocks away from two different subway lines and close enough to walk and get food after a late night out. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip!

Myself and my girlfried spent four days in the Hotel Chandler and found it to be very well located and generally a good quality hotel. Good points: Great location close to the subway network and popular sights. Good quality interior and rooms, big beds and very high quality bathrooms. Free coffee in the lobby. Free internet in the lounge. Bad points: Our room had a very small window which only looked into a lightwell i.e. view of a brick wall. As we were on the 4th floor of a 14 storey building we got no light through our window meaning the room was always dark and we had to have the lights on in the day. The toilet was also slightly broken meaning that water trickled into the cistern 24/7 being a bit noisy. The A/C was also too quite noisy. Overall very good hotel for New York and good value, would go back. Just make sure you get a room with a view!!!

Was pleasantly surprised at how nice the jr. suite was. We had enough room to accommodate party of 3. The staff was very nice. I spent a quick weekend in NY and the location was convenient to restaurants, shopping, trains, banks, etc. My only suggestions that would make this hotel better, is possibly a soda/ice machine, a microwave/refrigerator in room would have been ideal. We returned to rooom with leftovers from dinner and had no way of heating and storing beverages.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, perfect for both sightseeing and shopping. The hotel has a very peaceful atmosphere and the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. The room was small but tastefully furnished. It was rather dark because the windows faced onto the side of the building and the only view was the wall of the building next door. This meant that even in the middle of the day we had to put the light on. However this was only a minor inconvenience. Our only complaint is that the air conditioning unit was so noisy that we had to turn it off at night because it really kept us awake and this meant that we were too warm! A no-win situation. If visiting in the winter or cooler months this would not be a problem. We enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel on a future visit - we have no problems recommending the hotel to other customers!

I'm not sure if we got a special price or if the price we paid was normal, but it was waaaaay better than I expected for what we paid. The staff was beyond helpful, the room was impeccable, and the location was very convenient. We stayed at the Hotel Chandler one night after spontaneously deciding to go to NYC for a short trip. Very friendly and competent staff. The surrounding neighborhood is a lot of fun. The rooms were great and the bath and body products were fantastic. Only issue was our room temperature is either too cold or too humid (if turned the air conditioning down it would get extremely humid) Our window faced a moldy platform on the 2nd floor of the building, which is not a pleasant view and is probably why the room is so humid, but we got a good price for the room so it was OK for the price.

A friend had recently stayed at the Hotel Chandler and recommended it. We saw an attractive rate offered that made it considerably cheaper than the other mid-town hotels we had been looking at; we therefore took a chance on it and were glad that we did. The hotel is well located, only a short walking distance from the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden, Macy's and the Flatiron, and not far from Times Square. It is on a quiet street, and noise was not an issue either during the day or at night. Check-in was very quick and easy, even though we arrived earlier than the designated 3pm first check-in time. All the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and professional. Although small, the room was very clean and well appointed with quality fixtures and fittings throughout. In the bathroom, the towels were soft and fluffy, the soaps and lotions were good quality and the shower was superb. Free coffee and an internet connected PC were available in a very comfortable guests' lounge area beside the lobby. This was our first visit to New York and we were pleased that we had decided not to stay in Times Square itself. We were very impressed with the Hotel Chandler - its a well managed hotel that unlike many others I've stayed in gets the key things right. The small room sizes shouldn't put people off - I'd imagine that most guests will be spending the majority of their time out and about anyway -and in any event the size is perfectly adequate for an average couple.

I value these customer reviews so I am happy to share that I would strongly recommend this hotel! It was in a very convenient location - just a couple of blocks to a subway station. There aren't a lot of shops and more interesting "walking" areas nearby, just the usual...BUT, it is so easy to get anywhere in NYC by subway, that this was a quiet, easy place to stay. It was bigger than I thought it would be. Often, less expensive hotels in NYC are so small, you can hardly turn around in them, much less find a place to put your suitcase. This had one of the biggest bathrooms I've ever experienced in NYC - the shower was plenty big for two! the staff was exceedingly friendly and helpful, but better yet, the check-in process was swift! I would highly recommend this hotel for any stay in NYC!

The Hotel Chandler far exceeded my expectations in the following ways: Staff: First of all, the Door Man/Bell Man (they wear several hats at small hotels) was very courteous. But, he scored major points with me when he interacted with my 17 year-old daughter who was having a "teenage" moment upon our arrival. His attention and demeanor toward her absolutely improved her mood. Any parent knows the value of that, and it's not something I tend to expect from a hotel's staff. He earned an extra tip for that skill. On Saturday morning, the Desk Manager ( a woman) and Maintenance man were very responsive to a minor "situation" in my bathroom. Again, I had a teenage daughter waiting to use the facilities. Room: I expect hotel rooms in NYC to be smallish, but I was impressed with the high level of decor furnishings and design taste in my room. The bathroom, too, was very elegant for the small space. Great overhead shower! Even the hallways and common areas -- including the centrally-located marble-step stairway -- well done. I didn't utilize the the Bar on the first floor, but it looked like a nice spot to entertain a client if I had to stay close to my room Location: Having lived in NYC for 10 years, I always found Murray Hill area to be a bit of a dead zone. But, now that Time Square and Chelsea are both built-up since I lived in NYC, I find that the Hotel Chandler is strategically located and an easy walk to either of these neighborhoods. Again, I had a great experience, and I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was a comfortable hotel with just a few bothersome details. The shower stall leaked so the entire bathroom floor flooded with water after every shower. There is nothing worse then stepping onto a wet floor when you go to the restroom. While the bathroom was nicely decorated with modern decore, it was annoying having to deal with the leaking shower stall. Also the volume on the tv flucuated with every station. Between the chanels it would range from blarring loud to barely able to hear the volume. Just a minor detail. Overall it was a decent hotel.

This boutique hotel was ideally located just off 5th Avenue and within easy walking distance of all the major sights of New York, half a block from Empire State and Macy's. The staff were incredibly helpful, the room service great and the extra touches of a 'turn down' service made the hotel feel homely. The rooms, as you would expect in NYC, were not huge but comfortable, clean and with all the mod cons you would expect of a large city hotel, (Wifi, 42" plasma tv, ipod doc etc). The bar adjacent to the hotel offers a relaxing place to retreat after a long day in the city and the happy hour from 4-10pm is a definite bonus! If you are used to a palatial suite in a four star hotel or like to be able to lose yourself in your room this hotel is not for you however if you want a functional, comfortable, and above all, well maintained hotel I would recommend the Chandler in an instant. I would gladly look to book this hotel first when I next return to New York .
