We stayed overnight at the end of our holiday, to visit Aix en Provence and do some shopping. What a pity our visit was so short because the hotel was delightful in every respect. It is set in its own large grounds, only 10 - 15 minutes walk away from the town centre and there is ample parking space. The hotel is richly furnished with ornate and antique pieces and colourful rugs. The large dining room leads into an attractive al fresco dining area and one of the most enchanting hotel gardens I have seen - shaded walkways, fountains and statues, lots of greenery and flowers and variousplaces to sit and relax. There is also a swimming pool and pleasant sunbathing area with a small bar and helpful waiter service. Towels are provided, and quickly replenished when new visitors arrive in the pool area. Our standard double room was comfortable and well furnished. The ensuite bathroom was large and immaculately clean. Breakfast, whilst not cheap, was both plentiful and varied . We opted to have our evening meal at the hotel and, whilst quite expensive, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The waiting staff were helpful, the food was excellent and attractively served. We definitely intend returning next year for a longer stay.

Hotel is within walking distance (10-20 minutes depending on how fast one walks) to the city and Gare Routier where one can catch bus to the TGV station, Marseille, and Marseille Airport. Room is adequate but not large. If you plan to spend extra money booking a "Garden Chamber," please make sure that the hotel can actually offer you a room with direct view of the garden. Some of the garden chamber rooms are recessed behind the rest of the building and offer almost zero view. The hotel preassigned all the rooms when there are conference guests so you won't be able to switch to a real Garden Chamber room when it's all booked. This happened with our booking. In addition, if you are going during the off season months, be sure to go to the close by tourist office to find out about the group tour throughout the week as the hotel only offers the brochure for private drivers,a very expensive alternative. You may end up getting a private tour due to the slow seasons.

The hotel Pigonnet is an idyllic spot in Aix en Provence. We were very satisfied with the rooms and have previously enjoyed a great deal of travel in France. We found the staff at the Pigonnet to be extremely unhelpful, condescending and not the least bit eager to provide assistance to us. This was true at the front desk and in the restaurant. We do not expect or encounter stereotypical "French" behavior very often. It made our stay unpleasant.

Eccellente qualità prezzo, bel parco con piscina, a due passi dal centro.

Il faudrait apporter plus d'attention aux détails, que ce soit pour la propreté, l'ambiance de toutes les pièces, l'aménagement du jardin, trop de chaises ou tables trainent sans être bien rangées (jardin ou pièce avant le restaurant sur la gauche). Manque d'harmonie dans la décoration sur l'ensemble !!! Nous n'avons pas pu avoir une chambre de luxe (complet) nous avons donc du prendre une chambre classique qui est loin de l"ambiance que l'on peut voir sur le site ! Les façades seraient également à refaire. Manque des oeufs (omelette, brouillés,...) au petit déjeuner. TOUTES CES AMELIORATIONS PEUVENT SE FAIRE SANS TROP DE DIFFICULTES. L'HOTEL ETANT TRES BIEN SITUE, ET AYANT UNE SURFACE ET UN BEAU JARDIN FACILES A REAMENAGER.

un hôtel offrant une atmosphère provencale savamment réhaussée d'une décoration contemporaine. Un personnel attentif et tentant de satisfaire au mieux nos attentes.
