Eurostars Grand Marina - Barcelona

Staff not proactively helpful;. The restaurant and room service is just ridiculesly expensive Pool is a nice break on a hot day after walking around. Good location to Metro. The cruise ships generate a lot of noise so keeping the window/doors open is a challenge unless you can sleep through it

Stayed in a suite for three days in August. The room was spacious, comfortable, very clean with an excellent bathroom with shower and hydro-massage bath.. Cannot fault the service in the hotel. Not that we would usually choose to go to a city in August, but we had an opprtunity so took it. What is great about ths hotel is it is close to La Rambla etc, but it could be a million miles away when you are sitting on top of the rooftop terrace with plunge pool (wouldn't say it was big enough to describe as a swimming pool!) Pool side bar prices are as you would expect in a 5 star. Breakfast was excellent with a very wide range of choice, including your cooked breakfast, continental style to the cold meats, cheeses and sweet cakes. They pretty much cater for all tastes. This is a seriously relaxing hotel, but the most fantastic thing about our stay was the view from the Marina Suite. Daytime we watched the boats sail past, at nightime the view was even better. Our suite was on the west side of the hotel, overlooking the city from La Rambla to the Marina, with the hills in the distance. I would certainly ask for a room facing the city if you prefer a good view. One negative is that the port is just below and there are air conditioning units from the port building just below the rooms on the West side - we were on the third floor and they were quite noisy - so if you have the chance I'd ask for a room on a higher floor, especially if you are going for a suite.

The hotel is located next door to where all cruising ships unload their passengers and after this process they leave their engines running all night long. If you like the smell of diesel fumes and truck noises, this is the hotel for you! Also where other hotels may offer you some free items, this hotel charges crazy money for even smallest items. Not a good experience.

We stayed here for one night after a week long cruise. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Loved the fact that it had wood floors - no more gross hotel carpet! Would definitely stay here again. Only downfall is that the breakfast in the hotel restaurant is extremely expensive.

We had a fantastic two day stay in the Hart of Barcelona, Location is Key right on the sea front and close to La Rambles. Great value for a five star hotel in comparison to five star hotels in Ireland. We will definitely revisit in the near future.

A luxurious hotel that is very well placed to explore Barcelona! 2 mins from La Rambla, 5 from the Gothic Quarter and 5 mins from Port Vell. The rooms really were 5* and very spacious, the bed was massive and very, very comfortable, they even offer a choice of different pillows to suit your needs! The jacuzzi function on our bath was broken upon arrival however when this was reported to reception a very friendly engineer arrived within 5 mins and had if fixed in no time. The costs of in-room entertainment is very expensive with movies and minibar being out of the question in my mind. Forget eating in the hotel, the food is very expensive (especially the breakfasts) and not that impressive, you can get much more authentic and tasty food a great deal cheeper within 5 mins walk. Use the Metro to get around, Barcelona is a big city! You can get a T-Dia ticket for 5.00€ which allows unlimmited travel for the day, great if you want to get out and see some of Gaudi's work.

I went to Barcelona for a Easter city break so had vrey limited time. The Hotel was just at the bottom of the Rambla so we didn't need to get Taxi's whilst we were there. The Metro is also very close to Hotel, this was handy as we were going to watch the football and didn't want to pay Taxi prices! Overall the Hotel was very nice inside and the staff very friendly. They even checked the weather updates on the internet for us!

The room thermostat was not operation and the room was too warm. When I contacted the engineer, he turned on the A/C and froze us out until we simply shut off the system. Prices for food and drinks are very high. Wooden flooring in the room is separating (probably from the heat).

Some might find this pretty modern hotel too far to walk from the Ramblas and so on, but the Turistica Bus stops out front and the walk itself is very pleasant. We liked the fact it was fairly serene. We would definitely stay there again

This hotel was beautiful. We wanted a Modern hotel to stay at before our cruise. This hotel was huge and beautiful. There was not a great view from our window because it overlooked the World Trade Center but we did get to watch them film a commercial in the courtyard. The location of the hotel was great, walking distance to the Ramblas and the wonderful Port Veil. The food at the hotel was expensive but we preferred to explore the area for eating anyway. The staff was wonderful.

For the price of this hotel you could do much better. The hotel is situated on the ferry terminal. the noise and vibrations, constant reversing lorries and ferry funnels into the early hours makes it feel like you are actually sleeping on the ferry!. The beds are like rock and in our room the air conditioning was pumping hot air, so we had no choice but to open the window and endure the outside noise. On our last moring we decided to have breakfast and were presented with a bill for Euro51 for some tea and fruit and a small cooked breakfast, I could help feeling completely ripped off. My advise would be, you can stay in a better hotel for less money.

The hotel is very nice. The rooms were clean and in good shape. Staff was very nice and helpful. Most importantly it was great for arriving earlier morning flight and checking in early and then easy to get a taxi over to the port to leave for the cruise ship the next day. It is an easy taxi ride to most of the sites (<$10) or a short walk to the metro. Also the hop on hop off bus has stop right outside the hotel. I would stay there again.

Very, very good hotel. 20 mins from Airport, open top bus stops outside, Staff were excellent.

The hotel was very nice and the service was outstanding. The bed was not all that comfortable though! Also the picture is a little misleading the hotel is just on the front. The back building is the World Trade Center, so there is no un obstructed view of the water. The picture leads you to believe that the entire building is the hotel, not really!

This hotel is very close to La Rambla and shopping.

The Grand Marina is in a unique location by Barcelona Port, but close enough to the centre (Columbus monument and spitting distance from La Ramblas) to not be deemed "out of the way". It's nothing special to look at from the outside but the interior is simple, elegant and worthy of a five star hotel. The staff are courteous, customer service driven and provide those additional touches you expect of a five star place. The bellboy (or whatever they're called) provided us with a 'tour of our room' and gave us great starting tips for Barcelona and what to see and do. Who stood out for me was the concierge, the guy who is there - is witty, good-humoured and just the right side of cheeky with his conversation - it really did make me smile. We took advantage of breakfast in bed on the last morning we were there - poached / fried eggs and sausages, with coffee - lovely. Checkout was 12.00 but we ran about 15 mins late and there was no complaint.

The Grand Marina hotel is a great hotel to stay in, room was of a high standard and the staff could not do enough for you, and were polite and well organised. May be a bit expensive fore some people but for a special occation it is great. Right by the harbour so you cand see all the cruise liners coming in and out the port. Make sure that you ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the city its brilliant. If you dont then you will be looking over the trade centre square. Great views from the 8th floor.

Great location for any hotel in Barcelona, short walk to the Rambula and town center. Hotel is farily new and appears to focus on quality service. Maybe a bit sterile in atmosphere.

DONT STAY HERE- its just not worth the money Read the reviews and believe them because most of them say the same thing - Eurostars Grand Marina is NOT a five star hotel - it is a bit stinky, badly designed ( i could have done a better job myself) smoking floors especially, empty bar and restaurant due to extortionate prices, no character AT ALL - staff were dead on but view from room was average, quite noisy from the ferries and cruise ships - believe it!!! The doormen were v friendly but i definitely cud've spent my money more wisely elsewhere - i hope you do too

The Hotel was picked for its location, this is a five star hotel which having travelled around the world and stayed in lots of hotels was not in my opionion a five star hotel. I went to the Bar resturant for 2 nights of my stay and the service was bad the second time i walked out after sitting down for 15 mins and not getting served you do not pay to stay in a 5 star hotel that is under manned. The rest of the hotel was acceptable.

What a lovely hotel - the restaurant and bar are a bit pricey, but I guess that's to be expected in a 5-star hotel. But, 30 euros for breakfast?? Hmmm... anyway, still a fantastic hotel and would highly recommend to anyone. Very friendly staff and they even gave me a bottle of cava and a lovely desert for my birthday, which was very unexpected and very thoughtful. The room was clean and the shower nice and powerful! Great location too - walking distance to everything, but I would recommend taking the open-top bus for a couple of days to see more of the city. Absolutely loved Barcelona, and would recommend a stay at the Eurostars Grand Marina.

Beautiful physical plant and excellent location. However, (a) the temperature in the room was impossible to control (it was either sweltering or freezing), (b) the staff did not always respond promptly to requests and (c) there were more little problems to address than I would have expected from a really first class hotel (e.g., key was not in safe, malfunctioning toilet, failure of the housekeeper to leave extra toilet tissue). Free high speed internet access in lobby is great.

Our premium room was spacious and very well appointed. The bathroom was a dream. Good choice of food at breakfast and excellent attention from staff. Quiet location yet within easy walking distance from marina and La Rambla.

The room was absolutely beautiful. Although it is very expensive to eat the service was outstanding!

Hotellet ligger bare et steinkast unna La Rambla samt kort avstand til Barcelonas cruisehavn. Alle byens turistbusselskaper har stoppested utenfor hotellet. Gratis internett tilgang og om nødvendig tilgang til skriver og support. Hotellet er ikke spesielt pent men veldig moderne noe som også gjelder rommene. Badebassenget ligger på taket av hotellet og her har man flott utsikt til havet og omkringlggende områder. Alt i alt et flott hotell, som vi gjerne kommer tilbake til.

Imøtekommende service allerede fra vi stiger ut fra taxien. selv om vi kom kl 09 fikk vi rom umiddelbart, noe som oppveiet for at vi ikke fikk sjøutsikt. Hotellet ligger 2 min gangavstand fra Las Ramblas, og var perfekt for oss siden vi kom inn med Cruise-skip ved havnen. Basseng og solstoler på taket med en fantastisk utsikt var en god opplevelse. Alt i alt et business hotell som passer bra for de som ønsker å en storbyferie noen dager.

Høy standard, høy rompris, og svært dyrt å spise og drikke på hotellet. 4 Euro for 0,33 L vann i minibaren er i overkant ift priser generelt i Spania.

Klart et hotel i verdensklasse med hensyn til beliggenhed. Jeg var dog ærgelig over at man først kunne svømme i poolen klokken elleve jeg elsker en morgen dukkert alene Skønt morgenbuffeten var lækker kunne jeg godt savne at lave en kop kaffe på vær. lige når jeg vågner.

Et utmerket hotell med høy standard og perfekt beliggenhet ifht sentrum i Barcelona, svært sentralt, men likevel rolig.

The only negetiv was the price for brekfast! at the sametime the qulity of brekfast "number one"

ett ställe vi kommer tillbaka till, ligger perfekt vid hamnen med ett stenkast från ramblan. utanför går bussarna som kan visa hela staden och vill man inte trängas på stranden så erbjuder hotellet ett skönt poolområde att softa på. frukostbuffen väldigt bra. ett hotell värt ett besök.

hôtel bien placé, un peu à l'écart du bruit de la ville, bonne prestation, service efficace, agréable et rapide. petit déjeuner un peu cher mais grandiose

tout est pretexte a facturation sup ex : 25€ par jour pour stationement a l'exterieure, 11 € la toute petite bouteille de vin ! 25cc !!! 4.5€ les 25 cc d'eau .... par contre le petit dej a 25€ est pantagruelique !

Reserved two nights in this hotel before Easter 2009. The room was modern and fresh (but rather small) and the hotel service great. However, the soundproofing between the adjacent rooms are not sufficient. My wife and I had problems sleeping due to the fact that we could hear almost everything the nextdoor guests were saying and when they were moving around in their room.

Hotel de luxe, hélas totalement minéral, sans aucune âme. Chambres grand confort (baignoire jacuzzi) mais à la propreté douteuse. Boissons au lobby hors de prix.
