Orchard Hotel - Londres

Had a long trip around Europe, stayed in 5 different places and this one was the worst. The Hotel is too old, many things don't work. Personal tries to do what they can, but there is just so much they can do. Breakfast is good but tiny, don't expect anything to change day to day, you will mostly stuff yourself with toasts.

Location is PERFECT - just two blocks from Paddington station so if you fly to London to Heathrow then you can take train directly there and you are set, easy and cheap way to get there. Also Paddigton station has several tube lines and they are totally awesomely easy to get you to central london most of the time without transfers - LOVE IT. Neighborhood has few good priced bars and food places s well. If you plan to go out and plan to return during the night when tube is closed then you will find it easy to get back to hotel by bus (in case you don't want to pay for taxi) - i was returning at 4am and buses run every 10-20 minutes from main drag to this area - to be exact bus stop is half block away from hotel - AWESOME! Ok that was the good part, now bad(s) :) Hotel is funky - funky smell, funky furniture, funky size... i found myself barely squeezing between the bed and walls (i am 6' 145Lb) very very very small room and shower - if you travel alone it's ok size for two people - you can try, though if you weight more than 200lb i wouldn't advise it because you simply may not fit in the shower, i am not joking - it is 3' by 3' i measured it.

I liked the closeness of the hotel to the station(paddington). It was only two blocks which made it easy to carry luggage. The Heathrow express leaves from the airport and goes directly to paddington. It was kinda expensive but worth it for me. They served a limited breakfast, but it was free and filled you up for awhile which helped a bunch when it came to saving money. Rooms were nothing special, but hey we weren't there for the hotel. We really only slept and showered there. Overall not a bad deal for the price you pay.

I was a little nervous about booking this hotel, due to some negative reviews. But it turned out great. As long as you don't have any high expectations or expect out-of-their-way service, it's a great budget hotel. We requested a double room, however we were given a room that could sleep 3 people (room 102, second floor, facing the front of the hotel, huge window that opens). Our room and the hotel itself were always clean, which is my non-compromising requirement for any hotel. The bathroom, of course, was very small. You literally could wash your hands in the sink, turn the shower on, and use the toilet all at the same time (not that I recommend doing all of those at once). Just being honest, I think the bathroom would be non-functional for a large person. The beds were not too comfortable (not plush at all, but firm and springy), but adequate after a long day of sight-seeing. Street-noise was not an issue for us (and I'm a light sleeper). You have two choices for breakfast, cornflakes or an English breakfast. Do not expect any special catering, those are your two options. Personally, I was quite satisfied with the English breakfast (1 fried egg, 1 strip of bacon, baked beans, sausage/tator tot and toast). The location of the hotel is good, just a 5 minute walk to Paddington tube station. It's also just a few minutes walking distance to grocery stores, fast food, restaurants and anything else you may need. If you plan on spending most of your time in London out-and-about, and just want a clean convenient room to rest your head at night, then this is a great buy. If you're looking for a room with the comforts of home and a place to hang out and be pampered, this is not the hotel for you.

Nice hotel near Paddington Station (which is the drop-off station from Heathrow airport). A 5 minute walk or less. Get the London travel card since you will use the metro each day to get to most of London's sights. Reception is nice. Room and bathroom is small, but adequate. TV was an antique (it is time to upgrade!) but did receive a movie channel and the news which was great. Room was kept clean, peaceful small courtyard behind our room. Quieter rooms are on the backside of this hotel. Buses and traffic run all night. Breakfast was decent, but boring - corn flakes or "English breakfast", which is ham, egg, jam and toast. Nothing special and got old quickly. The shot glass juice portions were inadquate. Overall - recommend if you are on a budget and don't mind a 5-10 minute ride to most London sights.

Old, tired furniture in need of upgrading. Toilet and shower spotless. Breakfast vey basic but I suppose, given the cost was adequate. No tea or coffee in rooms but there is a lounge where I think you could get refreshments. No lifts. Close to two subways (10 mins) and near a very busy road with plenty shops restaurants etc. Staff friendly enough but there werent many of them about If you want a cheap basic Hotel then it was fine

Although it stated tea/coffee making facilities you'll find none actually in your room, there was a kettle downstairs in the lounge which is a tad inconvenient when you are on the 3rd floor! The english breakfast consisted of a fried egg, a rasher of bacon and a spoon of beans - not quite what we were expecting! The room however was clean and served its purpose for a nights stay and is very convenient for exploring central London.

The nearness of this hotel to a tube stop and to Hyde Park made the location a good one for us. The hotel itself was a bit worn around the edges but it was very clean. There were no frills but we weren't looking for any. They did provide a complimentary full English breakfast, which is rare these days, and the reception people were friendly and helpful. If you're looking for an economical place to stay this fills the bill.

It is a normal hotel. It is not bad but there was not shampoo in the bath. Also, There are no more channels, four only!

You don't ecpect much at this price but still a bit below standard; there are many other hotels in this area at around the same price if you look hard enough of a far higher standard. This place needs a re-fit. Some shower gel in the bathroom would be nice too.

We found the property to be clean, basic and warm, close to station and near many restaurants and cafes. I would recommend it to others, you get what you pay for.

Good breakfast, clean rooms and near the tube (Paddington) less than 2 blocks away. Along a row of hotel "houses".

Very nice hotel. Much better than I expected for city hotels. The service was very good, breakfast was excellent, and rooms/bathroom alot larger than expected. I felt very safe in the neighborhood and the location was perfect... a small walk to paddington station.

Three blocks from two different tube stations, 6 blocks from Paddington Station, close to Edgeware Road and any number of cybercafes. Rooms were decorated very 70s (i.e. not modernized), but bathroom new and VERY clean, if small. If the rooms had wireless and one more lamp, they'd be perfect. Breakfast copious (eggs a little greasy) and hot. This is a really good bargain if you don't mind basic comfort, an old-fashioned hotel, and no-frills. The desk staff is courteous and helpful.

The stay at the Orchard was good but the only things that let it down was the breakfast in the morning, (beans, a rasher of bacon and an egg) isn't a full english, and the shower in our room (202) was pathetic! My parents who stayed in room 106 said their shower was great but ours had no water pressure at all to the piont it wasn't worth using.

The hotel was a room to sleep/shower and that was basically it. At night it was very noisy: we heard sirens and people talking, laughing, and walking so it was hard to sleep well. As for the cleanliness of the hotel...let's just say we wore flip-flops in the room & shower because it didn't seem very clean. Also the "smell" of a dumpter greated us as we walked up/down stairs each day...we never figured out what the smell was. It was about 5 blocks away from the train station which was great and the front desk people were nice and helpful. Safe yet noisy location and as for the room...you get what you pay for!

Hotel did not have an elevator and one of our group could not climb stairs. They would not allow breakfast to be brought up from downstairs. Rooms were very small damp and the bathrooms a joke! Would not recommend this hotel at all.

Old small rooms smelling of smoke only after seing at the third room offered did we decide to stay. Do yourself a favour - try elsewhere

Gammelt hotell, trange trapper som en MÅ gå i for å komme til sitt rom, spesiellt når en reiser med koffert: Simpel frokost der en fikk 1 speilegg med 1 bacon bit til, bønner og 1,5 loffskive eller så kunne en få 1 skål med cornflakes..ikke akkurat noe å bli mett på...Rommet var som de pleier i England, små, men rent. Sentral beliggenhet, like i nærheten av Hyde Park og Oxford strreet

Var overrasket over hvor rent der var, har boet på et utal af hoteller i verden, dette var et af de reneste. Morgenmaden var også god. Et godt ophold, og et sted jeg gerne vil bo igen

med tanke på det låga priset var det riktigt skapligt boende i bra område.

God beliggenhed

Ett mycket bra hotell i i vårt tycke. Ligger centralt, men ändå i lugnt område. Några minuters gångväg till T-bana och expresståg till Heathrow ( tog 15 min till flygplatsen) . Rummet var nyrenoverat, fräscha tapeter och allt nytt i toalett/dusch och i vårt tycke bra sängar. Däremot kunde de ju byta ut filtarna till tunna fräscha täcken. Bodde där i 4 nätter och de bytte handdukar varannan dag. Servicen var helt okey. Nästa gång vi reser till London, så väljer vi gärna samma hotell.

Ett bra medelhotell med trevlig personal. Vårt rum låg mot gatan vilket gjorde att trafiken störde en del. Nära till Paddington station vilket var bra. Lätt att ta sig dit till och från Heathrow. Var även lätt att ta sig snabbt in till city. Något liten frukostmatsal vilket gjorde att det lätt blev kö.

Sentralt, rent og billig

Dyrekjøpt erfaring: 3 stjerner i UK tilsvarer 2. Utrolig gamleslitte rom, ingen vannkoker som er et "must" i UK. tre kanaler på en liten gammel tv. ELENDIG!! Spiserom nede i en mørk kjeller, UAKTUELT!!

Værelset var meget småt, men vores formål var heller ikke at være der, men blot have et sted at sove, så det var okay, selv om et par m2 mere havde været super. Personalet var flinke og hjælpsomme, vi fik god behandling. Morgenmaden var ikke fantastisk.

Familie på 4 stk plassert i 3 etg uten heis. Wc virket ikke. Nesten ikke trykk på vannet. Frokost var på 1 time.07.30-08.30. Dårlig og lite mat. Flere gjester klaget høylytt. Hotel under renovering med stillasje på utsiden.Arbeiderne startet kl.07.00

Cet hotel était très bien placé, près d'Oxford Street et des bus.L'accueil était très bien, seul bémol, pas d'ascenseur et escalier très étroit (groupe de filles au 3ème étage sans aide pour monter nos bagages....), pas très commode pour des personnes voyageant avec de grosses valises.

Großzügiges 4-Personen-Familienzimmer für eine "große" Familie (1,76 m bis 2 m), guter Zimmerservice, Klospülung war jedoch ein Lotteriespiel! Frühstück war für englische Verhältnisse großzügig (Flakes, engl. Frühstück und Toast) und in Ordnung! Nettes Personal

Fin hotel til prisen. Pænt og rent. Lidt slidt. Forholdsvis centralt- gode busforbindelser til centrum. Morgenmaden dog ikke noget særligt.

Ved check ind og ud havde receptionisten lidt for travlt med personlige opkald til at betjen os det første kvarter vi stod der. Rent værelse og ok morgenmad - omend noget uengageret betjening her også.

Kleine, aber saubere Zimmer. Ausreichend für Touristen zum Aufenthalt über Nacht. Englisches Frühstück frisch, sehr lecker und genug. Toast, Kaffee oder Saft wird nachgereicht.

Rent och trivsamt hotell. Luktade lite illa i duschen. Centralt - gångavstånd till det mesta inklusive tunnelbana och busshållplats, ca. 15 min. till Madam Tussauds. Lugnt kvarter. Receptionen öppen dygnet runt. Frukosten var inte mycket att skryta med. Hade gärna kunnat välja från en buffé med varmt och kallt. Man fick välja engelsk frukost eller flingor.

Ett mycket prisvärt hotel. Ligger centralt men ändå på en lugn och inte speciellt trafikerad gata. Frukost ingick i priset; inte mycket att säga om, standard Engelsk frukost. Bemeötandet var trevligt och de löste de små problem vi hade. Framför allt var rummen rena.

Prisvärt hotell med bra läge! Promenadavstånd till Kensington Gardens & Oxford Street. Nära tunnelbana & många busslinjer på Edgaware Road. Enkel frukost och enkel standard. Vi hade 4 bäddsrum på 4:de vån utan hiss - enkelt men rymligt och rent - bra doft! MEN KALLT! Drog in från fönsterna. Extra täcken hade inte varit fel. Så ett tips är att ta med pyjamas om man reser på höst - vinter - vår. Vi fick checka in tidigare då rummet var klart och de kunde förvara vårt bagage (utan kostnad) när vi checkat ut tills det var dags för hemresa - så det är helt klart extra plus!

Läget kan man verkligen inte bråka med, väldigt tillgängligt och skönt att det var gångavstånd till Hyde Park. Däremot var standarden verkligen inte tresjtärnig om man säger så. Ingen hiss, vilket var ok för vår del men om man har svårt att gå i branta smala trappor kan det vara något att tänka på, rummet var lite halvsjabbigt med fläckar på tapeterna från värmen från elementen och flagnad färg i taket i toaletten.. Men städningen var faktiskt under all kritik. Visst, dammsugarn hade de kört med men lakanen! Gula missfärgningar och verkligen inte rena, vi blev till och med misstänksamma om de ens hade bytt dem sen gästen innan... Sen var det en rätt obehaglig fläck på sidan av sängramen som det var svårt att avgöra om det var blod eller kaffe.. Vi höll oss vid den senare teorin för att kunna sova någorlunda gott om nätterna.

Begge værelser var i fin stand med nyistandsate badeværelser og nyere gardiner og tæpper. Man sov fint i sengene, madrasserne var i top og alt var nydeligt og rent. Personalet var søde til at hjælpe med diverse informationer. Morgenmaden var glimrende uden at være fantastisk.

Standard som forventet til prisen. Udemærket hotel med ok morgenmad og rene værelser. Havde problemer med radiatorerne, som varmede alt for meget og ikke kunne justeres, samt en seng der hældede mod en side. Ellers helt tilfredse til den fine pris....som forventet.

Centralt beläget, bara några hundra meter att gå till T-banan o restauranger från hela världen. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal, hygglig engelsk frukost, lite snålt med bacon bara. Bor gärna på samma ställe igen
