this hotel is excellent,friendly,clean comfortable.it runs a shuttle into the city but the frequency could be better although the bus stops right outside.

4 star hotel for the price of a 3 or 2 star in Rome. Helpful staff, very close to public transportation, parking, good continental breakfast. The map of the area they handed out was out of date and we got confused once.

Nice staff that speaks English well, good Continental breakfast, large bathroom (which is rare in Rome). Very close to a subway station, which is just one stop away from getting on Metro Line A. Not really in a neighborhood filled with restaurants or shops though, which is a shame if you're getting back late and want a nice supper. Beds are uncomfortable, but I had to sleep on a pull out sofa. Seem to have frequent technical difficulties, in our first room the TV was broken, in the second room, the lights wouldn't turn on. Quiet at night.

Excellent service indeed, the stuff was extremely friendly and helpful. Lobby and common areas are also great. However I expected more from a 4-star hotel room.

The hotel was quite nice although we did not find bar & staff particularly welcoming. The Metro sign on the map is misleading as this is actually an overland station, you can reach the metro if you travel one stop on this (Appiano) to the Metro connection(Valle Aurelia). We picked this hotel & planned our trip believing this was a Metro station as advertised. The hotel staff did not tell us this information we just took pot luck & it worked. If we had followed their instructions it would have been much longer & more expensive journeys. 4 euros will give you 24 hours of travel anywhere on the Metro, most sights are only a few stops apart. I wasn't very happy that I booked a triple room, but one of us had to sleep on a sofa bed which was a bit uncomfortable. (the room was really only set up for 2 occupants!)

This hotel is perfect for a visit to Rome. 15 Minute Walk to the Vatican. 3 Minute Walk to the Bus Stop and 4 minutes to the overland train that connects to the full metro after one stop. 5 Minutes from the hotel is a square that has an abundance of small restaurants and bars at local prices. The hotel breakfast is excellent with a wide variety of food available. Highly recommended.

Hotel is outside the main city but very near to a metro station and is hardly 20 minutes to Roma Termini. The hotel was very clean and bathroom was very high spec. The breakfast was excellent. The lunch and dinner menu was also very good. Food was very reasonabily priced. They also have a bar counter. The staff was very helpful and almost everyone knew english. They also have a free mini bus service to Vatican city but it should be booked in advance (a day before you want to travel). The only sorry part was the carpet in our room. It was badly worn out but looked clean. Sometime you could also hear the vibrations of the passing Metro underneath but this was not much of a problem and was rarely noticed. In room tea / coffe making facility is available. Over all, very good value for money.

We were very comfortable at the GHT. We had arranged transportation from FCO to the hotel, but the driver didn't show. After two calls to the hotel another driver showed up. This resulted in a one hour delay which wasn't appreciated after an overnight flight. Other than that, everything else was fine, including the daily breakfast. The hotel is a 9 euro taxi ride to the Vatican where we met the Hop On-Hop Off Bus.

The staff was rude at times and they charge per minute for the phone, local or international. King beds are 2 twins pushed together. Was quiet with sweet housekeepers that cleaned room very well. Overall it was borderline ok, but will try a different hotel next time.

The hotel was clean enough, breakfast was ok but main meals were well below par!! Our holiday was a sight seeing trip of Italy, this hotel in Rome was way to far from the main sights of Rome. the hotel has a shuttle bus that can take you into the centre but it only holds about 8 people and you need to book really early to get on it and it doesn't run on a Sunday. overall not impressed by this hotel and wont be going back

On first night I was checked into room with stained carpets, dust on the furniture and hair in the bath. After complaining I was moved (on the second night) to what they call a "deluxe room" which was not four star but much better than the initial room. I am not certain how these hotels are rated but this one is certainly not four star.

They do not speak much English and was very hard to get what we needed. We were told the resturant was open for lunch when it was not. Later in the afternoon when wanted a snake and a glass of wine, the waiter did not understand my husband when he asked for a table for 3, he brought us 3 bread rolls...The air condionter would never stop blowing and it was director on to the beds, we were very cold, we slept with the window opened. We were not impressed with this hotel.

This was a very nice hotel placed in a quiet residental area. If you want to see Rome and eat out in a nice restaurant, you will have to go by taxi to the city, though. The breakfast buffet was good.

I do recommend this hotel in spite it being a little far from the center of Rome. It is clean, the staff is friendly and there are shuttle options (very few though).

The hotel is very nice looking, especially the interior. It is expensive in comparison to what you would expect in the United States, but not too bad for Rome. The hotel is within walking distance from the Vatican City walls, although the hotel is located in a residential area. The service in the hotel is fairly poor, especially since there are very few people who speak English at the hotel and they do not seem excited to help anyone who does not speak fluent Italian. Our A/C did not work in the room, and our numerous complaints got a lot of "Si, Si" and head nods, but no action to fix it. Nobody even looked at it. Parking is not complimentary and very, very expensive. Internet access is the same. The food in the hotel was very good for breakfast, but a rip-off for dinner or drinks. Make sure you get breakfast included in your rate. It is a decent location in respect to the tourist areas and the shuttle is free to the Vatican or City Center (not to the airport). We stayed 4 nights and would stay again.

The hotel is in a neighborhood that at first looks a bit unsafe, but it is actually very safe. The train station is behind the hotel so you can easily get from the airport to it. There is also a bus stop very close by so it is easy to get to downton, but it is not as close at they want you to make you think. The staff was very friendly, great breakfast and very clean - good bedroom size too.

The bus picks up at the corner for the Vatican and/or it is walkable. Location is not ideal, but not bad either. Kind of off by itself. Nice outdoor fruit/veggie markets nearby. Staff was great

Hotel great, your total needs are attended to, very pleasent staff but very surprised about the amount of graffitti around Rome apart from the Vatican which was absoluty brillaint, its a must, what a wonderful weekend

However, it was very close to the train station and the Metro, and the staff was very helpful and the morning breakfast staff was very attentive.

This hotel is nice and very clean. The service is great, and it definitely feels like a 4-star hotel except for the size of the room we were in. As far as it's location, it's not on the metro line, so it does require some patience with public transportation. Even though there is a train station right around the corner, it is the above ground train that goes along the outside of Rome. You just need to take it one stop and change over to the underground Metro Line A. The train that stops right by the hotel runs every 15-30 minutes until about 10pm, so if you don't plan on staying out in the city center late, you'll have no problems with transportation to and from the hotel.

This hotel is very clean and comfortable and modern inside. The rear rooms have a horrible view of a back alley with laundry hanging everywhere and the front rooms are noisy. So, if you just need it for one quiet night, stay in the back rooms. The view from the 9th and 10th floors are great, as is the pool. Fast free internet at the business center. Poor restaurant. Easy walk to La Rambla, but in a kind of seedy/cheap business neighborhood.

When I'm on vacation, I want two basics in a hotel: a quiet room and a comfortable bed. The room was quiet enough, but the bed was a lumpy old thing. Also, I asked for a king-size - they pushed two twins together. Other points - the room walls had a fair amount of plaster and paint damage, and the shower had this bizarre panel-thing that stopped only about half the water from spraying onto the bathroom floor.

The room was great......but as with most European hotels the bed and bathroom were not that comfortable. The bathroom was small (shower was really tiny and a bit awkward to use). And the bed (king size) was two twins combined, so in the middle of bed you could feel the two separate mattress divisions.

This hotel was great, but it was far from all the major attractions. The hotel staff says that there is a shuttle that takes you into town, but the week we were there, the driver was "on vacation". The hotel room was very nice and clean and the front desk staff was very nice. The restaurant staff on the other hand was a little rude and always appeared to be very busy. This hotel is also far from the train station and airport so double check to see if the shuttle takes you there or if its running. I do recommend this hotel if you don't mind taking a bus or shuttle around to get to places.

First let me say that when I booked the hotel I coudn't believe the price. I lived in Rome for many years so I knew that the area (Near the Vatican) it's simply beautiful! A hotel in Rome in the middle of the summer at such fantastic price, great! The hotel was beautiful, located near the bus stop and near the "Centro Storico". Also the room was confortable and clean. Great experience!

The rooms were very modern and sleek. FYI... if you want lights in the room, you need to take your key card (which opens the door) and put it in the slot on the inside by the door. Nice way of conserving enery. Because when you leave, so does your key and the lights all go off. The continental breakfast was wonderful - Lobby and restaurant was very nice also. Employees were outstanding. Hotel was convenient to the bus --which was around the corner.

We felt this was a great hotel for the money. Our only disappointment was that there was a problem with the air conditioning and the fan. We slept with the window open to keep cool at night. Were we there in warmer weather, we might do som complaining.

the hotel and restaurant were first class. the location was in a quiet neighborhood away from the main attractions in Rome however they offered free shuttle service several times a day to the Vatican and major sites

This was a great hotel for the family. We were very pleased with the hotel in every area. Very clean! Staff was friendly. Nice breakfast. Shuttle service was fantastic! Our one and only complaint is that any bed considered a double, queen or king is actually two twins put together. We would definitely stay at Grand Hotel Tiberio again!

Great hotel, offered a gym and sauna. The continental breakfasts were plentiful and fresh. Maybe during the summer they could offer more fresh fruit. The coffee and tea served in individual pots w/ steamed milk was a very nice touch. Seemed very popular with tour groups American, British and German. I did notice they add a roof top lounge bar, once again should be very nice in the late spring and summer. The train station to major sights and Termini is downhill, about fifteen minutes away...

Very helpful with an english speaking clerk arranged our taxi to the airport with a price that was very good.

This hotel is located several minutes walking district from the Vatican and other historical sights. The rooms are very large(the ceilings)and comforeable. Transportation is available to and from the main terminal. In addition, the hotel is located within a quite neighborhood with several nice family restaurants and pharmacies. Expect to walk hills while in and around the area.

Use the city bus or metro rather than a car. Both are available just outside the hotel within a half block simple walk. Excellent clean and comfortable hotel with very nice rooms. Good location to bus and subway routes.

This was a great hotel in a great neighborhood located near the train that could take you to the metro or to the historic areas of Rome. Also an easy and interesting walk to St. Peter's or the Vatican Museum. The hotel offers all the comforts of an American hotel with a European flavor!

Hotel was a 15-20 minute walk to Vatican City. It is in a quiet residential area. Staff was extremely helpful in giving directions and getting a ride to the airport.

Høy standard, god størrelse på rom og god service. Eneste minus er beliggenheten. Nødvendig med skifte fra metro til jernbane på Valle Aurelia. Kun et stopp med jernbane Appioano, men togene slutter å gå klokka halv tolv på kvelden også i helgene. Alternativ er drosje fra Valle Aurelia til hotellet. Ingen drosjeholdeplass. Må tilkalles pr. telefon
