Cliphotel Gaia Porto - Vila Nova de Gaia

I booked a single room and was incorrectly allocated a room on a smoking floor, this was changed quickly and easily. This hotel is in a good location right next to the metro to take you into the centre of town and also a department store and supermarket for convenience. My room rate included a buffet breakfast which for 5 euro was good value for money with a lot of food choices to suit everyone. The breakfast room was very clean and the staff working there were very good to keep everything available to eat even if you turned up late. There was an area near reception at the front of the hotel which had wifi and also a computer for travellers to use without a laptop to enable them to use the internet which was also handy. Guests are also provided with free fresh fruit, water, plenty of tourist information and a place to sit and relax. If you require parking be sure to book this when you make your reservation as the carpark could be full on arrival. Also there was not really a place to stop easily to unload your car at the front of the hotel. If you do not book your room and include breakfast and decide to eat it you will pay 7.50 euro instead of 5. The rooms were clean and tidy and there was also a television for entertainment if you are travelling alone if you wish to watch this.

had a double room with twin bed, room was of a perfect size and very clean. LCD TV supplied in room. Various English channel included. En-suite is in need of severe modernization, that's the only thing letting the hotel down. Breakfast is buffet continental. Very good location, dept store similar to House of Fraser nearby, supermarket and plenty of restaurants.

We stayed at Cliphotel for 5 nights in October 2008 and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is clean and comfortable and we had a nice room. Only complaints are the firm matresses and that the cleaner sometimes forgot to replenish the supplies of toiletries. The buffet breakfast was good, although the coffee was not to our taste (much prefer the 'cafe' from the ubiquitous coffee shops). The staff spoke english well and were helpful. They were also kind enough to provide us with a bottle of wine to apologise for being woken in the middle of the night by a fire alarm caused by people smoking on the same floor as us. The hotel's location is great: right next to a metro stop on the yellow line with some nice cafes, supermarkets and banks close by. The neighbourhood is nice and feels safe at night, unlike some parts of the old town, so we were glad to not have stayed in a hotel around there. The Il Cortes Ingles department store next door is massive and has great shopping especially if you like salami, ham and cheese: their basement supermarket was dazzling! If you like walking, Porto is great! We were able to walk straight down the street from our hotel toward the river, port wine cellars and bridge across to the Ribeira old town. Early- to mid-October was a good time of the year to visit with less tourists and good weather.

I stayed in the Clip hotel and it was absolutely fantastic! The staff were really friendly, the room was kept immaculately clean and the location was great. If I ever go back to Porto, I will definitely stay at the Clip hotel!

Dejligt hotel, alt fungerede og man sov godt om natten. Dejlit og hjælpsomt personale. Der var internet i lobbyen og gratis frugt. Lidt som Ikea alt fungerede og var praktisk men der var intet overvældende og prangende

Bonne localisation grâce au métro au pied de l'hôtel et le centre commercial à proximité, le centre ville est à 10min. L'hôtel, propose gratuitement le wifi, l'eau et des fruits

prima hotel met goed ontbijt voor een betaalbare prijs. Precies goed voor een leuke stedentrip naar het verassende Porto.
