Hotel Marlowe - a Kimpton Hotel - Cambridge

I stayed here back in May and loved it so much that when I knew i was coming back i made sure I booked it again. It is a great location, just accross the river and walking distance from Boston in Cambridge. It is attached to a mall so it is ideal for shooping too. Highly recommend this hotel

Service was great...room decor was fun....but will choose options other than their restaurant for food. Would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel Marlowe has wonderful ambiance and warm service. Amenities are thoughtful with guest comfort in the forefront, including a great selection of books (for adults and for children). Coffee in the Lobby was actually GOOD and wine reception in the afternoon nicely done. My 2 night stay was totally stress free and the whimsical decor charming and fun.

Stayed here on my trip to take my daughter to BU. She really loved the hotel decor, as did I. Very different but not over the top. Funky but tasteful. Everything was great - except I hated the pillows. Didn't ask for different ones so I don't know if they have alternatives to the down/feather. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We found the T stop within a reasonable distance (5 minute walk) Parking not the greatest (not very convenient and $20/night) but what do you expect in a city like Boston? Would definitely stay there again. We had a lovely stay.

We were very impressed with the hotel and really liked it proximity to things such as The Science Museum, Galleria Mall and the T stops. Next time we are coming to Boston we will stay at the Hotel Marlowe.

This hotel was so cute! The rooms are decorated better than any other hotel I ever stayed in. They had leopard carpet! And they had these zebra and cheetah robes that you could wear. The service was impeccable. The only problem was the location because it was a bit of a walk to the T (around 7 minutes). It's perfect for young couples, though. Oh, and it was pretty convenient that the mall was right next door. I forgot to bring a party dress and was able to get one in 10 minutes at the Macy's next door.

We would certainly stay at this hotel again - We would make this our hotel of choice as a matter of fact. Access to Green LIne was very convenient; access to the Red Line also good. Relationship with Galleria Mall made parking reasonable. Knowing a little about Boston helped to make this Cambridge location a good choice. Staff was helpful. Met the chief engineer on the elevator. He took it upon himself to introduce himself and ask about our stay and our level of satisfaction. I thought that this showed something about the "corporate culture" at his hotel.

I am from the area so occasionally steal away for a night in the city with friends and we love the Marlow. It is clean, classy and the staff is always so nice. We love to walk to the North End for dinner and can access the trains very easily. The price is great for a really well run hotel.

I have stayed at other Kimpton hotels before. In keeping with the Kimpton brand, the Marlowe is comfortable and stylish and the service is friendly and efficient. Nice complimentary touches included coffee and wine in the evening. Would definitely stay here again.

Outstanding facility; Would highly recommend. Very "pet friendly". The staff goes beyond the call of duty to make your stay great.

My son and I got into time eary and they had a room ready for us. The staff was extremely friendly, competent, and helpfull. Cleanest hotel I've been in for a long time. Restaurant was pricey for dinner but it's Boston. Very affordable for lunch. Connected to Galleria Mall that offered manny alternative for food. My son loved the magician on Thursday in the living room area during complimentary wine for guests. Pet friendly. Great Room for the money.

We found a special on this hotel and so grabbed it up for our one night stay in Boston. It's an easy 15-20 minute walk from North Station and close to the Museum of Science, The Cambridgeside Galleria and North End where all the good restaurants are. The wine reception was excellent with full glasses of Fetzer wine and spring rolls served on the side. The room was on the small side, but we had enough room. The bathrobes were cozy. The only odd experience we had was housekeeping walking in on us about ten minutes after our arrival to inventory the minibar. She came in despite our desperate shouting to wait a minute as we were changing our clothes. So putting the do not disturb sign on the door is a must at this hotel. There are no chain locks either. Overall, I would certainly recommend this hotel and plan on staying here again.

I had a horrible stay at this hotel. Do not book a smoking room since there is no smoking allowed within a hundred feet of the place. You cannot shut the blinds at all and when the lights are on near the entrance or the sun comes up...you are going to be WIDE AWAKE. The mini bar was not locked and i refused the key before i got my room, so i have no idea if i got charged even though i informed them of it. Did not even notice a small blood stain on my pillow until the next morning. Lucky for me it was on the other side. Finally when i was leaving the garage very early in the morning, there was nobody to let anyone out of the garage. I am not kidding about anything I have posted here. Good luck to whoever checks into this overpriced dump!

The Hotel Marlowe was absolutely perfect for my fiance and I as we traveled to Boston for both work and pleasure. We lucked out with an amazing deal on hotels.com and got to enjoy this lovely hotel. We both took full advantage of the great workout room and the concierge's great recomendations for restaurants. I would definitely go back!

Family of six visiting colleges. Ideal location for visiting most Boston area colleges and the city itself. About one block from the "T" (Boston's public transportation system). You can leave the car parked and ride the "T" during your stay. Received a very good room rate. Hotel did not provide what was booked (Two doubles in each room), but did provide one King and a roll away bed in each room (Two rooms). Rooms were well kept and two day stay was quiet. Self parking was $20 per day. Breakfast at Hotel was expensive, over $120 for family of six (Two adults and four children). Be careful not to double tip, since tip is included in restaurant bill.

I'd go back at the discounted price, because of the convenience, but they had a lot of add-ons for an extra fee, which I thought was tacky. Still, it was a lovely place, and within walking distence of Harvard Yard and the T line, so Boston was very easy to manage, without a car.

Located at the Galleria Mall. Very convenient location. Nice hotel. Beds are very comfortable.

Hated the parking garage for self parking, but it wasn't the hotel's fault it is managed by the mall...

New and impressive hotel close to river. We visted on 4th July and it is in an ideal location to walk a short distance to the river front. Short walk over the bridge to Boston proper too. We would not hestitate to go back and recommend it, Particularly if you like 'tiger-print' bath robes!

Everyone from the door persons to the desk and restaurant staff to the cleaning people made a big fuss over us and especially over our dog (a very human-friendly pit bull). Their enthusiasm for our dog alone was almost worth the price, and the water and treat dishes at the front door and front desk certainly won him over! One of us had a severe allergic reaction to our room - cat dander? Feather pillows (only one was not)? The price was perhaps normal for the location and quality of the hotel but 50% higher than a nearby hotel with suites where I stayed two weeks earlier. With regrets I am unlikely to return for that reason. I'm from DC, which for some reason is not on the list of states to choose from on this form.

The hotel was great, but we had two taxi drivers who had great trouble getting us to an address a few miles away. They were Haitian and had language problems. The first driver charged a correct fare even though he had driven a few extra miles. The second driver charged us $19 for an $8 cab trip. I explained our first snafu to doorman, but even he really didn't get the problem. We needed cabs with GPS.

Great hotel, spacious, elegant , comfortable... accomodating. Able to use complimentary bikes to get around Boston and Cambridge, beautiful surroundings, attatched mall was great for rainy afternoons, Charles River boat rides/ tours begin right outside attatched mall. Everything within walking/ biking distance. Extremely friendly staff overall. One would not rest until they found on-line the information we were looking for. Another provided us with a temporary pet ( fish ) when we admired one sitting on the lobby countertop. Plenty of top of the line ( Aveda) products in bathroom. Cozy leopard print robes in the closet if desired. Friendly down to earth people greeted us at the door. Very friendly checkout service.

Great atmosphere and attentive staff. Good location, having the hotel connected to the Galleria is actually a great time/money saver whether there for business or pleasure ... better than being in tourist trap area.

My wife and I booked this last minute hotel for our anniversary. Upon arriving, the front desk asked our reason for staying at the hotel. When we informed them of our anniversary,we received a free upgrade to the top floor and later that night a free bottle of wine and truffles.The location was amazing and views were excellent! The complimentary bike rental and kayak were a big plus. The staff was very,very friendly and always greeted us by our names. And they even got us to the front of the line at the neighboring Cheesecake Factory on a Sat. night by giving us a hotel business card. The room was thoroughly clean and the environment was awesome. They also have a complimentary wine reception in the lobby and you can choose from Sangria,white wine or red wine. And you can also play Nintendo Wii free of charge. It was a great stay and we will definitely stay there again for special occasions. If you choose to use the bike rental, its only a 10-15 minute bike ride to the harbor or new Greenway. Its amazing in the summer!

The room as well as the lobby was very stylish and colorful. Lots of art on the wall, animal prints on the rug and other furnishings made for a wonderful surround. I wouldn't pay extra for the river view-most of the 'river' in an annex off the Charles and is barely visible. The setting was very quiet. We loved the bar/restaurant and had some great breakfasts and snacks there. Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel was well worth the price. The rooms are spacious with a funky animal motif going on. The complimentary wine in the evening, general comfort and friendliness of the staff made this a great weekend stay in Boston.

This was the first dog friendly hotel we have stayed at and I was very pleased with the way people handled their dogs. Even though I do not have a dog, nothing turned me off about it. They accomodated all of our requests except the ajoining room with my daughter and grandchildren. They were great with directions, things forgotten and the staff was friendly and welcoming.

This is my second stay at a Kimpton in the past two months and they are a classy hotel. I highly recommend a stay here as the staff was both incredibly profession and kind. I would stay again anytime I was in Cambridge.

We had a great stay here, the wine service was great and there was an incredible magician doing tricks and keeping everyone entertained. We had one problem, my girlfriend took a gulp of cranberry juice from the mini fridge which turned out to be expired. The front desk acted immediately and they sent up a cheese plate and bottle of wine as well as comping some items from the fridge, so we were very impressed and pleased with how they handled it. Otherwise the room was great and we could see the Charles which was nice. I would recommend this hotel.

Funky decoration but certainly comfortable. Great location- attached to Cambridgeside Galeria (which is also used for hotel parking for an added fee). A short walk to Museum of Science, Charles River, TD Banknorth Garden, Green Line T stop.

My wife and I brought our 1 year old to Boston and chose to stay at the Marlowe because the price was great and we were still close to everything. Our stay was very enjoyable, but we did have to listen to the thump,thump of some dance music coming from the second floor for a while on a Saturday night (apparently there was some kind of party going on...wedding reception or something like that). We were on the 4th floor, so I can't imagine what the noise was like for someone on the third floor (just above the conference/reception area). This didn't really sour our opinion of the hotel, but that may be something worth looking into if you're booking a room here and don't want to listen to someone else's music.

I stayed at this hotel because it was nearby the courthouse...I found that it was convenient to other things as well. The staff was helpful, cabs were easy to get, room was clean, overall a great time!
