Ai Pini Park Hotel - Mestre

We stayed here September 12-13. The front desk staff spoke English, were friendly, & were very helpful with directions & transport arrangements. Our room not facing the park was clean & spacious with a large bathroom & comfortable sink & shower facilities. Complimentary toiletries were Gilchrist & Soames soaps, shampoos, & body wash. Rooms facing the park appeared slightly smaller. The continental breakfast had 3 homemade pastries plus other breads, a selection of coldcut meats & cheese, several types of yoghurt & fruit, good quality jams, butter, honey, & Nutella, and an espresso machine plus 2 types of fruit juices. The rooms feature cable television but only 3 or 4 channels in English which are news channels. The room was cheaper & more convenient than our experience in Venice where we carried luggage over several bridges and down walkways to avoid paying EU 60 for a water taxi. Transport to/from Venice & the hotel was easy. By cab, expect EU 25 to the hotel from the port (approx 15 minutes), EU 30 from Piazza Roma (approx 17 minutes), and EU 30 from the hotel to the airport (approx 15-30+ minutes if traffic). By bus, use the Actv orange-colored public bus. It costs EU 1.10 per person each way from Piazza Roma to the hotel (approx 20 minutes on the 7 "Mirano" bus) or from the hotel to Piazza Roma (approx 20 minutes on the 7 "Venezia" bus).

The Ai Pini Hotel is located outside of Venice in a suburban neighborhood called Mestre. The location fit our desires since we had already toured Venice and wanted to be close to the train station to visit surrounding cities. We walked to the train station (about 1 mile) and this worked for us. The hotel is next to a green space park, so it is very quiet. I ran each morning and found an awesome route on the bike/pedestrian paved path which led to a x-country trail around a pond. I was very happy! The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely accommodating. We arrived early from the cruise ship and the staff held our bags while we ventured into Venice, Murano, Burano, Torcello. The room was clean, the only irritant was the noisy a/c coming on and shutting off. Breakfast was included and was very nice. We ate off site for dinner. There is a very delicious Gelato/coffee shop a block away!

Hotel is convenient if you don't want to stay in Venice itself. The bus route is easy to manage although very crowded and hot in the summer! Excellent staff that were very helpful offering advice on what to see in Venice. We ate in the hotel restaurant and loved it.

Extremely helpful, friendly staff; clean rooms; really enjoyed dining outdoors on the garden patio; a quiet and relaxful break from the crowds of Venice. It's a 20-minute walk from the Mestre train station, and bus #7 to Venice stops every 10 minutes just across the street from the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

If you are driving through Italy (rather than taking the train) and visiting Venice, you don't want to stay in Venice: the internal logistics are a nightmare. Instead, stay outside of venice and take a bus into Venice proper. This is an excellent hotel for such activity. There is a bus-stop right across the street, every 10 minutes, and its about 15 minutes to Venice itself. Bus tickets (including water-bus tickets) are available in the lobby. The hotel itself is well built, friendly, good staff, includes parking. The dinner at the resteraunt was good, and a nice european breakfast buffet in the morning.

Excellent experience especially breakfast and dining room. Service superb and relaxed in true Italian manner. Good locations for business in the bustling Veneto away from the crowds and hyper expense of Venice. Frequent vistor to Italy. I will return. M.Spata

Le petit-déjeuner était pire que mauvais : jus de fruit bas de gamme en brique, croissants de la veille, salade de fruits en boîte, jambon en sachet, etc... Le confort était très en dessous des 4 étoiles auquelles nous aurions pu prétendre, malgré l'obséquiosité de l'accueil. On avait l'impression que tout était compté et économisé. Nous sommes arrivés en train et la surprise a été de constater que la distance gare-hôtel était de 25 mn en marchant vite au travers d'un quartier mal famé (le site indique : proche de la gare) et que l'hôtel était également très éloigné du centre-ville (30 mn). Le seul intérêt de cet hôtel est pour les gens qui viennent en voiture (sortie d'autoroute à 2 mn) et pour le travail.
