The Best Western totally supported our needs with comfort and capability. Airport pickup service was very convenient and offered timely pick up and drop off service. I would recommend the Amsterdam Best Western to others and certainly will book my next stay at this hotel. Booking through Hotels.Com made the arrangements even simplier.

TV was broken and took 2 days to repair Table lamp was broken and took 3 days to repair Tea/Coffee cups for the room were paper. Food in the restaurant didnt get to try as the delay was so long that I left.

This was a great hotel, offering nice food in their restaurant, pick up from the airport and comfortable rooms. I upgraded to a delux room but don't know what else that offered over a standard room, but it was clean, modern and comfortable. There was free WIFI which was a bonus and even a small gym and pool (which I didn't get to use but looked good.) A good stop-over hotel for airport connections.

We booked with Best Western assuming we would have a good experience as it was a name we recognized and it was located near the airport. We were very disappointed with the service and quality of our room. The room had two, very low, single beds. We did not realize that this hotel does not offer any rooms with double beds. The hotel states that it provides a shuttle service from the airport to the hotel every half hour. We waited at the airport for over an hour. When we called the hotel, the receptionist said he did not know where the driver was. When I asked when we could next expect a shuttle, he said, " I don't know. I am not the driver." I found the experience to be very unprofessional and unsatisfactory. The only positive aspect of the stay is the hotel gym.

I needed a place for one night before catching my flight out of Amsterdam. Some folks find the airplane noise too loud, and it was noticeable in my room, but once I drew the curtains and it got later, and air traffic died down, it was just fine. The room was huge, and was a great value for the price. The shuttle was a bit hard to figure out from AMS (it leaves from position 4A, I think), but it was quick and efficient, esp. in the morning. I'd recommend this for a place to stay before flying out, or a place to freshen up on arrival if they have rooms available in the morning.

No it´s not a fancy place but for my frequent overnights in Amsterdam I have found my regular spot. This last trip was probably my 8th overnight stay. Convenient, short and reliable shuttle from Schipol. Very friendly staff. Rooms large for Europe. Free wifi but no business center. Not upscale but not without frills - the pool, gym and sauna are nice features and well maintained. Restaurant serves very good food - and besides McDs and Schipol there are no other options - but the menu is limited and not vegetarian friendly; breakfast fresh and ample. I don´t think I would stay for more than a couple nights but for recovering from jetlag and just needing a clean and comfortable place to stay it is perfect for me.

The best thing about this hotel was it's proximitry to the airport. Rooms were on the small side and we had to request an iron and ironing board, not provided in the room. Free shuttle to Schipol ran on time. Just don't eat there, the food was not great!

Our room was very clean. We took a free shuttle from and to the airport,which was a great service. The front desk staff was polite. Hotel restaurant was a little overpriced. The only downside was its remote location in relation to the city center.

This is an excellent hotel for stopovers. The rooms are clean and comfortable as is the whole hotel. We didnt use the gym or pool but they looked more than adequate. The resturant could be a little slow in delivering your food but the quality of the food was excellent. All in all I will use this hotel again.

This hotel is located near the Amsterdam airport in an industrial area. In fact cargo airplanes take off over the hotel most of the night. If you're light sleeper like me it will keep you up at night. The hotel needs work. In general the hotel is very clean and functional but I would not recommend it as a romantic getaway. Thank goodness for their reliable shuttle service to and from the airport. That was the only way I could get to public transportation, the trains at the airport can take you anywhere. The hotel restaurant was decent. The portions were "American-ized" or "super-sized". The meals I had were tasty and well prepared. The breakfast was typical of most European hotels. The basic choices are all there. And of course there is a McDonalds within 200 feet. My biggest complaint was the bedspread. They need replacement.

We used the shuttle back and forth to the airport a few times. On two out of four trips, the vehicle filled up and had to leave people behind. They should either run more frequently, get a bigger vehicle, or make arrangements with the hotel next door to take the overflow. Also, a hotel near the airport needs better soundproofing than this one has. I thought the hotels.com charge covered everything, but they charged me an extra "tourist tax" at checkout. Aside from that, it was about what I expect from a Best Western.

Excellent rooms, pool, little gym, great little bar. Shuttle runs every half-hour to the airport where you can pick up the train into the central city. Trains run all night, shuttle ends at 11:45pm. Watch out for the cab drivers at the airport - they don't like the short ride, and one tried to rip us off. We made him take us back to the airport where we reported him and got another cab without incident. There's a 24-hour McDonalds across the hotel parking lot - good comfort food after the cab incident. Hotel also has a flight info board in the lobby. Can't beat it as an airport hotel, and the price is right.

This hotel is located within walking distance to all of the main attractions although not greatly situated for restaurants. A little planning is necessary for supper however Buddha Bar, a 10 min walk, is a great place for good (expensive) food and people watching! If you are there on a Sun, be aware that most restaurants are closed. Having been to Paris quite a few times, I've seen all of the main attraction. A first, though was the Pere Lachaise Cemetery...where Jim Morrison and Chopin (to name a few) are buried. It is well worth the effort to take a look at as it is really quite beautiful. The hotel was really good value for money and the hotel staff were quite helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was neat, clean, a good deal for the money, helpful staff. A very abundant breakfast that far exceeded our expectations. Our only disappointment was the surrounding neighborhood, very industrial with no stores, restaurants, etc. except McDonalds.

Staff was rude and not helpful. They acted like we were bothering them when we asked a question. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes with no acknowlegement that we were even there. I work for a major airline and will not recommend this hotel if anyone asks where to stay in Amsterdam.

We stayed here for only one night waiting for our flight back to the U.S. Desk clerk spoke excellent English and made us feel welcome. Room was adequate. Our evening meal and complementary breakfast buffet were both excellent. Well prepared, served in a nice atmosphere and reasonably priced. Good value for money!

Better than many smaller hotels in Europe, the Bastion Best Western is conveniently located for an easy commute to the airport. The hotel offers a free shuttle between the hotel and airport. You are captive to the hotel restaurant, since Hoofddorp has only one dining establishment - Chinese.

AC was not working, when put to their attention hotel asst. manager with initials MS did not address the problem for guest satisfaction.No option were offered to correct the problem.Have to sleep on the floor to avoid bright light coming from the outside since we have to leave the window open for air to be able to breath.Even if I told them I have heart condition which makes me not able to tolerate a room without air circulating, they did not care.

The Best Western was a comfortable place to stay. Some of the staff seemed cold and not very interested in helping, but the man in the breakfast area on our check out day was very kind. Overall, I would recommend it to a friend. Internet usage is a nice feature. The room was clean.

The smoking in the lobby and bar was a major turn off. If you need to leave the hotel in the morning for the airport you'll need plenty of time to get to the freeway.

The hotel was a good value for the money and very convenient to Schipol Airport (AMS). Our flight was late from Heathrow (go figure), and upon arrival, I called the hotel for a pick up. That's when I discovered their shuttle stops at 11:45PM. The hotel desk clerk, after putting me on hold for 10 minutes, said "take a taxi." The taxi rate was 20 Euro to the hotel, and I had to literally beg the driver to take me there. While it is the law that they must take you, it is a short ride and they would prefer to take someone to the city centre. The shuttle resumes at 6AM.

This hotel does what it sets out to do. It is a clean, smart hotel - ideal for business travellers. The staff on reception were extremely helpful, the breakfast was fine and the facilities were good (e.g. free internet access at reception). That said, the bed was too soft, it definitely had the feel of a transit hotel and it wasn't particularly cheap.

This clean, comfortable hotel is a 10 minute free shuttle ride from Schipol. The rooms are very good. Wireless is fast and free. Food is average. Pool and steam room are wonderful for the weary traveler. FItness equipment is low average. This is a nice inexpensive way to transit Schipol.
