I spent three days in the hotel San Clemente Palace and thought it was great. This was my first trip to Venice and the Hotel was all I could have asked for. The location is magical and the water taxi from the airport was a great way to arrive. The shuttle service to and from St Mark's Square is great-it was lovely to hop onto the Hotel's boat and be whisked away from te heat and bustle of St Mark's back to the sanctuary of the Hotel's private island. The Hotel restaurant is fantastic, with dinner served under the stars in the square in front of the island's private chapel looking across the lagoon to the lights of Venice. Don't forget to wear mosquito repellent! I found the food and service great, although I did hear some other guests complaining that the service was poor for a restaurant of that calibre. For me the only area of disappointment was the food in the pool area. It was ok but very expensive. The cheapest thing on the menu was a caesar salad for Eur 20. The salad was lettuce with croutons and a very mediocre dressing. I thought the main restaurant was good value because of the quality and the location, but the casual dining let the hotel down.

Fantastic hotel, wonderful pool area to relax after doing the cukture bit in the morning. Drinks and meals very expensive, we skipped breakfast and ate in Venice after the first night. The restaurant is the only let down, it should be much better for the price and location. Would definately go back.

The hotel itself was very nice, but it does not have services that you would expect for a hotel isolated on its own island (like a shop where one can buy toiletries, or somewhere to buy local currency with a credit card.) I booked it because I thought I might need a quiet respite if Venice got too hot or crowded for my daughter, but in retrospect I would stay in the middle of things next time.

Can't fault this hotel, absolutely super, stunning gardens, excellent service, fabulous food, beautiful room. We will be back!

Amazing facility located on a remote island. Absolutely beautiful hotel on a beautiful island. Only about 10 minute boat ride to Venice. However, the food and drink pricing was absolutely outrageous. They charged 24 Euro for a club sandwich. There are no food vendors besides the hotel on the island.

On a private island, this hotel is a perfect getaway from the busy streets. Complementary boat was easy to use and readily avaliable. Well worth the spend for special occassions!

We usually stay at the Cipriani, which is also a great hotel, but the San Clemente was about half the price and exceeded our expectations. The rooms were great, and we loved the fact that it is located on a private island away from all of the tourists. It's very peaceful and I would definitely recommend it. The only problem we did have, was the cost of the private water taxi to the airport. We were told at the front desk it would be 80 euros. Once we arrived, the driver wanted 110 euros. He called the hotel and the concierge told us he was right. We think he was getting a kick back, which we didn't appreciate!! It was 80 euros going to the hotel as well. Just a warning! Other than that...the hotel was great!!

Alles goed, een oase van rust in het drukke Venetie. Douche kan beter, klimaatregeling in kamer kan beter.
