Royal Plaza Montreux - Montreux

The first room they gave us, was suppose to be lakeview deluxe, it was more street view with a side view of the lake. I requested a specific room I saw was vacant and they did move us. The room itself was nice. However the room service and the concirege service left a lot to be desired. Wake up calls were not given at all, the towels were not refreshed on 2 days and the room did not bring our luggage down as directed and the tour bus had to make a return trip to the hotel.

Skeptical at first because of the price - we found this hotel worth every penny! Within walking distance from the train but local transportation also available,.. directly on the lake.. the most comfortable beds, beautiful room, nice view even though we weren't facing the lake... the list goes on. A wonderful place to stay.

Montreax is stunning and so is this hotel. The staff are very helpful especially the concierge who helped find me a dentist when a problem arose. Breakfast was very good if a little expensive.

Overall impression is favorable though the check in process soured us a bit. Despite our being the only two people at the counter, it took a while for us to even be acknowledged by those behind the counter who spent their time looking down or staring into space while talking on the phone. Once we got someone's attention, we were treated with marginal courtesy - not at all what we expected based on our few experiences at five star hotels. A word to the wise: dining at the hotel is very good but also very expensive.

I paid extra to have a lakeview and was given a view of a park and trees. When i complained about situation, I was told by the front desk staff to ask the next morning because It was late. When I asked the next day about possibly being moved to another room, I was told it was not possible eventhough the hotel was basically empty. That I was in the highest floor possible for the categuory that I had booked. My issue was not the floor but the location of my room not facing the actual lake. In addition, I paid 14 euros to have what can be at best considered a continental breakfast. (croissants,juice and coffee). The best feature of the hotel was its location right on the pedestrian boulevard along the lake. If you want a five star experience book the Fairmont Montreaux Palace not the plaza.

The Royal Plaza is definitely not 5 star, more like a good commercial 4 star. Bedrooms very ordinary, flat pack furniture. Advertised as 3 dining rooms and piano bar and music. Only one dining room, the cafe was open and the food moderate (had to send steak back as un-chewable) and there was no piano or music and we were not forewarned about these and no deductions. The hall was grand and the concierge helpful but we did share the hotel with a large group of Russians on a conference and am sure this hotel is better for conferences than holiday. The swimming pool was good.

it was a great place, the spa & pool area was really nice - other then the werid craby man with the plastic blue booties for your shoes. it was modern, perfectly clean with amazing views ** PAY THE LITTLE BIT EXTRA FOR THE ROOMS WITH A LAKE & MOUNTAIN VIEW! we wished that we had once we got there, but it was an extra $472. once we were there... the only problem was the foolish euro two bed thing were they shove two small beds together. still a good nights rest, but... would def go back :)

Wonderful setting, very comfortable hotel with picture postcard views across the lake

The room and bathroom were small. The hotel itself has a nice lake view. Staffs were very helpful and professional. We received a good deal so we thought it was a good value overall.

Struttura non nuovissima con vista splendida sul lago. Ci siamo fatti cambiare la stanza perche' troppo vicina ai concerti nel parco, quella nuova era eccellente, il servizio in camera eccellente, c'e' un po' troppo da attendere in portineria. Location fantastica per chi va al festival perche' e' a 100 metri, ho usufruito della piscina di un hotel collegato. consiglierei senz'altro la permanenza al Plaza anche se il prezzo e' elevato

Bo helst i ett rum med utsikt över Genevsjön. Obetalbart! andra sidan vetter mot parkering och bilväg. Mycket fin "junior suite", stor terrass. Receptionspersonalen uttråkade, skulle behöva skickas till Bangkok på kurs i gästvänligt bemötande.

Hotel agréable dans l'ensemble . Mauvaise surprise pour le parking payant ... et Cher , 25FS/Jour !! Piscine extérieure fermée par temps de canicule soi-disant a cause du festival de Jazz !! Gastro-enterite après la glace chocolat-chantilly au resto "Cafe du lac" situe a l'Hotel meme , (la glace ou la canicule )?!!

Man hat sich einfach nicht so willkommen gefüllt. Hotel und Zimmer können nichts dafür, die waren gut. Aber das Personal könnte schon mehr Wärme versprühen. Hat denn nur schon ein "wie war die Nacht" am Morgen ausgedient?
