room small but perfectly adequate. friendly and helpful staff. excellent all in breakfast and enjoyable bbq night on roof terrace. a short trot to entrance to alhambra that couldn't be more convenient.

Very well situated for the principal entrance to the Alhambra (five minute amble down the hill), on a curving, leafy, steep section of the road that rises out of the old quarter of town - Albacin. Walking into town is an enjoyable 10-15 minute stroll down the hill. The return journey is much more arduous, especially in the summer heat, and you would be well-advised to hail a cab (about Eur5-8 from the town). Internally, the hotel is looking tired, but not without its charming kitsch touches. Lobby is tidy and well air-conditioned, with Moorish tiling, wood panelling and a marble floor. Room corridors are a bit tatty. Pool is small, and a bit cloudy, but nice enough for a cooling splash-about after the day's explorations. Food in the restaurant is more than adequate – generous (and very tasty) hot and cold buffet offerings at Breakfast and Lunch. The lobby bar provides hot and cold snacks and excellent coffee. Staff are friendly and willing to help where they can - Ivan deserves a particular mention here. Reception staff are a font of helpful advice and will take you through a map of the town centre and environs as a part of the welcoming/check-in procedure. Rooms are clean and well-presented, though my only gripe was that the air conditioning was not quite fierce enough. Recommended as an affordable and comfortable base for your explorations of this fascinating city. Just manage your own expectations as to opulence.

Alixares is a three star hotel posing as a four star hotel. No amenities to speak of, the hotel is old and worn, and the location is great for visiting the Alhambra but not near ANYThing else.

excellent location 200 yards further up the hill from the alhambra ticket office/bus stop ( 1.30 euro ). Big hotel nice decor, lovely rooms, wouldnt recommend the food but lots of it at the buffet, lovely rooms, good views, comfortable beds

We will definitely stay there again. T he setting is beautiful nestled in the hills across from the Alhambra. The hotel is lovely, the staff very helpful, the buffets reasonably priced and delicious-a great bargain! It is a bit far from the downtown but one can easily take a bus for 1 euro.

Hotel Alexaris is a great place to stay if you are visiting Granada to visit The Alhambra Palace. The hotel is located virtually at the entrance of the palace, so finding the hotel and getting situated is a snap. The hotel itself is wonderful. The only downside is that the location is on top of the hill (mountain) above the main historic square of the city so you are at the mercy of local buses and taxis to get into town. Its easy when the buses are running there are taxis, but if you have to walk it takes about 30 minutes. Also, there are few restaurants near the hotel after dark, so plan on either taking the bus to town, or eating fish sticks at the hotel buffet;)

Bodde två nätter på hotellet för att besöka Alhambra och ta en titt på Granadas historiska centrum. Bra läge bara ca 10 min promenad från Alhambras entré. Receptionen hade hjälpsam och trevlig personal som också talade engelska. Gratis wifi-uppkoppling till nätet. Bra bussförbindelse till centrum. Enda minustecknet var en lite dålig TV-bild på vissa kanaler - men tittade bara på väderprognserna så det störde inte oss. Lätt att hitta och köra till med bil - utan att behöva krångla sig fram genom Granadas centrum.

Godt hotel. Især hvis man vil besøge Alhamra. Ligger lige ved siden af. I gåafstand fra Granada centrum (fin gåtur langs Alhamra). Vi fik et værelse på 4. etage med stor terrasse og fantastisk udsigt over Granada by og sneen på toppen af Sierra Nevada.

Alt i alt et udemærket hotel som sagtens kunne have haft en ekstra stjerne. Beliggenhed og et lavt prisniveau var en ekstra bonus. Restuaranten på taget var super. Dog skal det siges at der var store problemer med engelsk hos det personale der ikke arbejdede i receptionen.

Frühstücks- und Abendbuffet sehr einfallslos und bescheiden.

Hotellet er meget dejligt og med en prima betjening fra først til sidst - check-in, værelsesstandard, nightcap i baren, morgenmad, rabat på nærliggende parkering og hjælp til en guided tour på Alhambra som lå et stenkast fra hotellet som også lå meget tæt på byens centrum

Dejligt hotel med bedste beliggenhed. Venligt personale, god morgenmad.

Bra placerat något slitet men fint efter spanska mått hotell. Synd att poolen var stängd på f.m ett morgondopp tycker vi är skönt.

Hätte keine Bedenken wieder in diesem Hotel zu überanachten. Service, Zimmer etc. alles Wunderbar. Und die Alhambra quasi als Nachbar... Wunderbar!
