Golden Park Hotel - Budapest

I would rate the hotel a 2.5 to 3 star based on the condition of the hotel. It is a very worn hotel in need of a remodel. It is right across the street from the central station. For a quick 1 night stay it will meet your needs. For a long stay for sight seeing and vacation... I would not recommend.

Good location, near the keleti train station, the room size and amenities are not quite the 4 stars hotel standard. The other plus point is the location is near to the Arena shopping malls, so it good location if malls shoppings are preferred. Breakfast buffer is not replenished, so make sure you be there around 8 am to have something to eat.

I hate smoke. My non smoking room did not have a stale smoke odor, but in the middle of the night the ventilation allowed smoke from elsewhere to come into the room. The street noise, including yelling teenagers, sirens, and traffic, came in the open window (air conditioning not on or not functional) throughout the night. Other than that it had a great location, included breakfast, nice room, and the best price of the trip. If you like smoke and noise it's a tremendous value.

Coach load of students were allowed to run riot knocking on doors and being extremely noisy. No control exercised. Ruined an otherwise pleasant stay. Don't recommend as it ended up feeling more like a cheap backpackers hostel. Shame as breakfast and rooms of good standard and close to metro transport.

This hotel is located right next to the train station which is convinent to travel around the city. The staff, especially night manager , Judy, are absolutely wonderful. She was extrememly helpful with directions and gave helpful advice while moving around Budapest.

The hotel was ok with good location, the metro was just few steps from the hotel but i would rate it as 3 stars hotel not 4. We had a good deal with a very good price otherwise i wont stay in it, with the normal price we could stay in a better hotel. It was written next to the reception that check out is at 11:00a.m. but actually it was at 10:00a.m which is too early.

All the staff were vert polite. The reception area and lounge were very comfortable and relaxing. The room although very tired and in need of decoration, was clean and shower worked perfectly. Bedding also clean. Breakfast was a little poor, make sure you are in the breakfast room for 9.30 as the room shuts at 10.00 and electricity is turned off.

Everythink was Ok for what I need. Good place, and public transports just outside... They have to change absolutely their "coloured water" for the breakfast, and give us real fruit juice

The Good: -Great staff, from Reception to Housekeeping -Good food (breakfast) -Convenient location (across the street from Keleti Train Station) The Bad: -Double Room seemed a little cramped -Walls had some marks on them (not painted recently). This was on the one non-smoking floor, the others may look completely different. -Shower too small (found myself hitting faucet) Overall, very satisfied with the staff, and pretty satisfied with the quality of the hotel. I try to spend as little time in hotels as I can (and as much time as I can "out and about"), so the slightly-smaller-than-average room didn't bother me as much, because I wasn't in it much.

Orange syrup is not a substitute for orange juice. Coffee looks and tastes like mud. If you come after 9 am you'll have to clean up and set the table yourself. But location is very good if you come by train.

I stayed in the "Golden Park Hotel" for 3 nights. It was mentioned that the hotel is a 4 stars hotel near the city center. I must say that this is the worst hotel I've ever been to (and I'm traveling a lot...). It's very noisy, the room wasn't clean, and it's definitely not a 4 stars hotel! When we got there several dogs from the room next door were barking for several hours (this is a pet friendly hotel...I wish I knew that before I booked the hotel). We woke up to the same "fun" barking sounds the next morning... The first night I found a big stain on my blanket (seemed like blood). I wanted to replace it, so I called the receptionist who said it would be taken care of. This was done only the day after. The second and Third nights were even worse. A group of teenagers checked in to the hotel, probably as a part of a school trip. I wasn't able to go to sleep till after MIDNIGHT because of the noise they made (load music, shouting, slamming doors...) It happened again on the 3rd night as well despite numerous complaints from guests. The breakfast was awful. They served "orange" water with syrup supposedly as orange-juice, the coffee was tasteless, I ended up eating a bite of a small bun with some cheese on it. So my recommendation - if you want to sleep at night, in a clean, quiet room - think again before you book this hotel.

Location: Very convenient location. It's out of the town center, which makes it cheaper. It's directly across the street from the main train station and a subway stop. Only a 5 to 10 min commute to the city center. Room: Smaller in the european style, but very clean and cozy. I believe the hotel was renovated in 2002. Free breakfast is also included in the price. Very good breakfast selection, which exceeded expectations. Overall: It's a fairly priced, clean hotel conveniently located near major transportaion hubs. I would stay here again.

We were only in Budapest for a few hours and we needed a place close to the train station to stay overnight. The Golden Park sign was visible as soon as we exited the train station. After a short walk, we were there. It was late, but the staff was helpful enough, including exchanging money so we could grab a late-night bit. Which we did at a Turkish place across the street from the Burger King. When we stayed, they included a continental breakfast. We never made it deeper into the city, but if you need a place close to the train station- this is it!

This was a very nice hotel and the location is GREAT. It's right across the street from Keleti train station (both cross-country trains and subway). The only issue was our room was on the 6th floor and the A/C did not work well. We asked 3 times for them to fix it. Someone finally came a looked at it but it still didn't work. Staff spoke English and was mostly helpful.

The central station Keleti is just across the street.Very convenient for train travellers.MacDonald and burger King are just around there.Breakfast is very good.

Hotellet är trevligt men ligger vid en trafikerad gata, så det är bättre att få rum inåt gården. "Amerikansk frukost" är som en enklare svensk hotellfrukost fast med svagt kaffe och saft.

4 Stjärnor, skulle själv sätta max 3 st. Mycket små rum, ingen vidare frukost, vilket var en stor besvikelse. Annars ligger hotellet bra till med tanke på metro och liknande. Det trådlösa nätverket (WIFI) lös med sin frånvaro...

Not what I would call a four star hotel, but at a discount it was great value. Good location, just opposite train and metro stations.

Wifin funkade ej när vi var där och rummet var litet.Men det låg väldigt centralt och personalen var kanon.Bartendern Susanne är bäst! Frukosten var bästa jag ätit.

Hotellet ligger centralt pladseret for alle offentlige transportmidler, og selvom vi fik et værelse på 1. sal ud til vejen/stationen, hørte vi intet til det!. Værelserne er flotte til prisen. Morgenmaden var også fin. Vi havde bestilt en opredning til datter på 2 år, og der havde de desværre "kun" redt op på en sovesofa. Hotellet ligger tæt på "City Park", som havde rigtig gode og fine offenlige legepladser, hvis man er en børnefamilie. Her ligger også deres ZOO, som bestemt er et besøg vær for hele familien :-)

Hotel très bien niveau qualité/prix, les chambres sont propres et bien équipées et il est très bien situé avec une station métro juste au pied. Le problème est surtout le bruit très important de la climatisation et une mauvaise insonorisation sur le couloir et la rue.

Accueil professionnel et polyglotte (au moins hongrois, anglais et italien d'après ce qu'on a pu constater). Chambres propres et lit confortable. Situé juste à côté de la gare Keleti (sur la place de la gare), mais le quartier n'est pas des plus chaleureux. Un peu éloigné du centre de Pest (compter une bonne demi-heure à pied). Le petit déjeuner est très copieux, sucré et salé, il y en a pour tous les goûts. Il manque juste un vrai jus de fruits. Seules les personnes qui cherchent un petit hôtel plein de charme éviteront cet établissement.

Buon hotel, posizionato esattamente di fronte alla stazione metropolitana di Keleti Pu. Il personale è accogliente, la pulizia delle camere buona ed è prevista una colazione a buffet molto varia e abbondante. Al piano terra, adiacente all'atrio, c'è un buon ristorante italiano denominato Etna II. Solo una nota: sul sito dell'albergo viene indicata la presenza di un parcheggio, ma in realtà manca.

This hotel claims to be four star, but it is most certainly not above three stars. The breakfast was very mediocre. They sausage and scramble eggs were not good and the coffee was not tasting good at all. No variety of buns or the bread food. The elevators did not work at some times. On the good side, the room we had was big and airy. And the manager of the hotel really tried to be helpful. If they claimed to be three star, I wouldn´t be so disappointed as I am now.

Hotellet ligger like ved jernbanestasjonen Keleti, men dermed også et godt stykke fra sentrum av Pest, og enda lenger fra Buda. Metrostasjon like ved. Grei frokost, men bordryddingen gikk tregt.

Ett trevligt hotell beläget 15 km från flygplatsen med goda förbindelser mot centrum med Metron och nära Östra stationen för dem som kommer med tåg. Hotellet håller en högre standard än vad första intrycket från utsidan visar. Trevliga rum med bra ljudisolering som effektivt dämpar ljuden från den relativt hårt trafikerade gatan utanför. Minusposter: -Frukostbuffen är inte anpassad för nordbor. -Minus för att gymmet kostar extra. -Brist på restauranger i närheten. Dock finns det både Burger King och McD tvärs över gatan samt en pub med bra priser.

Litt slitt hotell, men renslig og veldig bra service. Frokosten var elendig. Engelskspråklig og flink til å ordne opp i ting du måtte lure på.

The hotel is top, but i did not like the area, its really close to the railwaystation though. the breakfast is ok. I did not like the staff, they are nice but a little bit arrogant.

Le quartier de l'hôtel était trop "lugubre" à mon goût mais les prestations y sont corrects. (petit déjeuner ; ménage...)

Helt greit hotell, litt små rom, men greie dersom de skal benyttes til kun å oppholde seg i korte perioder. Betjeningen var grei nok, men ikke alltid like behjelplige med å vise hvor man kunne finne gater/steder o.l. Manglet vann ene dagen, og strøm en annen dag.

Rena men trånga rum och toalett. Det fanns ingenstans att hänga upp handdukar, kläder och toalettväskan i toaletten. Bra frukost. Välplacerat. Hjälpsamm o trevlig personal. Snarast ett 3-stjärnigt hotell

Vi har kun rosende ord til hotellet. God service - god beliggendehed - centralt - pænt og rent. Skal vi sige en lille smule negativt, må det blive at, receptionen og trappen/gangen er lidt slidt.

Hotellets placering ved banegården og med direkte adgang til både metro og busser opfyldte vores ønsker, - og der var ikke nævneværdig vejstøj på værelset. - Desuden var prisen, vi betalte, beskeden i forhold til kvaliteten.

Rent och fräscht och med helt okej läge. Till Vasi utca (shopingstråket) cirka 10 min med taxi. Väldigt nära shopingcenter Arena Plaza som rekommenderas för den som gillar shoping. Frukosten var så där. Rekommenderas om du är ute efter ett budgetalternativ.

Servicen på hotellet var bra. Receptionen hjälpte till med allt och var mycket trevliga. För att vara ett 4 stjäns hotell så var frukosten ingen höjdare. Kaffet var jätte äckligt, men det är ju en smak sak.

Hadde bestilt og betalt for 3 sengs rom, men fikk en sovesofa til tredjemann. Fikk byttet til rom med 3 senger etter 2 dager. Skulle vært slik fra dag en.

Central pladsering for alle offentlige transportmidler. Værelserne flotte til prisen. Morgenmaden var også ok.

Rigtig godt hotel, centralt beliggende til det meste interessante i Budapest. Meget venlig betjening i receptionen.

Værelset var ramponeret / slidt men rent. Vi boede i et indhak hvor der stort set ikke kunne komme dagslys ind. Levede desværre ikke op til vores forventninger. Morgenmaden var heller ikke værd at skrive om.

Personalet er servicemindet. Hotellet er generalt lidt nusset. Løse fliser, manglende maling på vægge, beskidte gulvtæpper. Morgenmaden er kedelig. Æggene grønne, kaffen smager af klor. Brødet sejt.

Hotel adiacente la stazione ovest, con la metropolitana sotto i piedi, servitissimo dai mezzi. Camere un po piccole per un 4 stelle, ma comunque pulite; ottima colazione a buffet.

Das Zimmer war sehr klein, Kühlschrank funktionierte nicht, Tresor funktionierte nicht, Wasser nicht immer heiß. Zimmer sauber, Frühstück durchschnittlich (1xkein Butter, kein Gedeck). Sehr praktisch -direkt nebem dem Bahnhof Keleti.

Voor het hotel alle openbaarvervoer mogelijkheden. Ontbijt goed verzorgd. In kamer en gang wel lawaai te horen van ventilatiesysteem. Dichtbij parkeergelegenheid (parkeergarage Arena)

Lever ikke op til de 4 stjerner i værelserne. Sjusket malet og ingen minibar. Hotel personalet forstår meget lidt engelsk. Morgenmaden under middel

Litt slitt hotell, hyggelig og hjelpsomt personale, men mener at det ikke kvalifiserer til 4 stjerner sammenlignet med det som vi har vært på tidligere.
