Hotel Fontana - Roma

We read a lot of reviews of this hotel before visiting and we chose it for its central location,a few reviews,mainly left by Americans who were expecting a modern charmless chain hotel,were less than complimentary,we stayed in room 204 at the rear was lovely,clean,full of character,comfortable,and quiet,the breakfast was good,the staff were all very helpfull and friendly,i would recomend this hotel to couples or journeymen,but think anyone traveling with children may find it harder going. The location was perfect with most of the sights within easy walking distance,and the Trevi fountain just outside the front door,had a perfect stay here and cant wait for our next stay.

This hotel is located on the main pedestrian route through historic Rome, right opposite the Trevi fountain. I stayed here for five nights with my nine year old daughter. We were able to walk to many attractions for example, the pantheon, piazza navona, the spanish steps, and piazza de campidoglio. The hotel is small but full of character and the view of the Trevi fountain from our window was amazing. The continental breakfast was nice and the staff were pleasant, friendly and spoke English well. I would probably choose a bigger room, not facing the fountain next time as I was traveling with a child and we spent a lot of time in the hotel resting. The air conditioning worked really well which we truly appreciated as we come from a mild climate. Overall I would recommend this hotel but would probably choose a different room next time.

There are more than 1 Hotels with the name Fontana attached and your taxi driver may have difficulty in locating the right one. The staff are very helpful and the view from the breakfast room is simply breathtaking. The breakfast spread is sumptuous.The air-conditioing could be better but was just adequate in May, it is probably not during hotter months. Overall this is a good hotel with comfortable rooms and extremely handy for exploring the sights of Rome on foot.

We had a wonderful view of the Trevi Fountain which was a plus but the bathroom was very small and hard to move around in. One thing to consider when booking at the Hotel Fontana is the noise at night from all the people outside your window below.

Fantastic location in the Piazza di Trevi, very central. Hotel is full of charm and the room was surprisingly spacious with a huge comfortable bed. The bathroom could use some modernisation but otherwise it was spot on.

If location is all you are interested in, this is the hotel to go to. It is on Piazza di Trevi, and the front overlooks the Trevi fountain. This means it is centrally located, within easy walk of the Pantheon and Collosseum, as well as all the shops. The breakfast room overlooks the fountain itself. However, the price reflects the location and our room was smaller than you would expect for the price. Also, less than half the rooms actually overlook the fountain, although I suspect those at the front might suffer from noise. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. The bathroom, though, was small and cramped, and again ought really to have been better for the price.

Rummet var stort och lugnt beläget mot en bakgata. Bad rummet var minimalt men allt fungerade. Frukostserveringen var belägen på en inbyggd takterass med spektakulär vy mot Fontana Di Trevi.

Flott beliggenhet i romas historiske sentrum. Direkte utgang til Trevi Fontenen. Fantastisk utsikt fra frokostrommet. Gangavstand til det meste. Hyggelig og hjelpsom betjening.

Litt terangt i frokostsalen, men grei service

Kan varmt anbefales. Valgte fire overnatninger og fik dermed 30% rabat.

A nice little hotel with good service, rooms and other facilities. The staff was nice and service minded. The best thing is the location. Every night when we came back to the hotel, the street was crowded with people and it felt like the fountain was a part of our hotel. The breakfast was nice and cozy.

Mere centralt i Rom bliver det vel ikke. Hyggeligt lidt slidt men rent hotel med god stemning og atmosfære. Vores værelse lå lige ud til Trevifontænen, så selvfølgelig lidt støj, men ikke mere end vi havde forventet. Kan klart anbefales.

Hotellet er placeret lige ved Trevi fontænen. I gå afstand til hele det gamle Rom. Rummene er små, men der er eget bad. Rengøring upåklagelig. Morgenmadsbuffet flot. Vores værelse var på hotellets bagside, dvs ingen larm fra gaden (folk på pladsen døgnet rundt). Alt i alt en rigtig god oplevelse. Kan kun anbefales,

Directly opposite the Trevi Fountain. Therefore a bit noisy during the day and the evening, but it was no problem for us. Nice hotel, nice interior design, but nothing fancy. Friendly staff. Low price. Very recommendable.

Venlig betjening hele vejen igennem. Et rigtigt lille charmerende og romantisk hotel med rigtig hyggelig morgenmadslokale på tredje etage med super udsigt. Billigt at booke udenfor højsæsson.

Direkte overfor Trevi fontænen så udsigten kan ikke blive bedre. Midt i centrum ved Roms hyggelige gader med masser af spisesteder og central i forhold til de mest kendte seværdigheder. Hyggeligt charmerende hotel med god service hvor der ikke kan sættes en finger på renheden.

En underbar atmosfär gammalt men fräscht vita välmanglade lakan och dukar. Toppenläge - nära till det mesta.

Ett charmig tlitet gotell mitt emot fontana, med allt vad det innebär, turister, affärer och stämmningPersonalen är mycket trevlig och hjälpsam!

En pärla mitt emot fontänen med otrolig kvällsutsikt och nära till allt. Mycket trevlig hotellpersonal och bra restauranger i närheten. Fräscht men enkelt. Lite hårda sängar, men utmärkt frukost på den underbara terassen.

Fantastiskt läge, rent och genuint. Små, spartanska men rena rum, helt OK frukost från en fantastisk matsal/terass med utsikt över fontänen och Roms takåsar. Trött hotellpersonal och begränsad service kan man stå ut med.

la chambre qui m'avait ete attribuee etait ridiculement petite, un placard. Situe devant le fontaine de Trevi, literalement devant, il y a trop de monde devant l'hotel non stop. La probabilite d'avoir une chambre avec vue sur la fontaine est pratiquement nulle. il y a de bien meuilleurs hotels dans la quartier pour le meme prix et moins bruillant. A conseiller pour ceux qui vont a Rome uniquement pour voir la fontaine de Trevi.

The hotelroom faced the Trevi Fountaine which left us with a special relationship to one of the most beautiful sights i Rome. The first night the sound of the water was overwhelming but soon it became natural and part of the experience. It was exciting to watch all the people passing by the fountaine and also the men trying to sell roses and the strangest toys to not so interested tourists. The hotelroom was small, but big enough, and perfectly clean and also full of historic charm. To eat breakfast at the topfloor of the hotel was wonderful. The breakfast in itself was delicious, with all the italian delicacies, but the terrace whith the view of the fountaine and every picturesque detail in the room made the moment unforgetable! We certainly recommend this hotel and hope to return again.
