I'm not sure how this got a 3 star rating as it was one of the worst places we stayed. Not only was the room moldy/musty smelling but I did not feel very safe.

I don't know how this property got 3 stars -- by far the worst room this trip. We were only in the first room for approx 15 minutes and then had to be moved as the mold/mildew smell was so strong. The WIFI internet although free was of poor quality. The staff were nice and the breakfast was okay. We will not be back nor recommend this property.

Nice hotel with 2 pools and jacuzzi. We stayed 4th of July weekend. We lit fireworks in the parking lot, it was a lot of fun. Good value. But I am also not very picky. Oh, and the free breakfast is not included if you book on hotels.com. Found that out the morning of, so it was kind of irritating. Had to pay $7 each. Not worth it to pay. But it was cool to roll out of bed, walk over to the restaurant, eat, and roll right back into bed. lol

I should of known better, I got what I paid for. The room was clean but it's definitely not a 3 star hotel room. It's an old hotel with some work done. If you're looking for cheap, it's fine. But if you're picky, just pay a little more somewhere else.

we got what we paid for ,beds were really hard,ice machine not woeking near room,and no fridge or microwave room had enough room for couch but non in room .

I really missed appliances in the room, there was no microwave oven and refrigerator. Otherwise the room was clean and the good thing was air-conditioning worked well.

I thought this is a three star hotel, yet the service and everything is not even close to three star hotel. There is no breakfast included with the hotel and customer service is not that great... I won't recommend this hotel to any of my friends...

1. Ants in the restroom and on the bed. 2. Little black bugs flying around (in the 2nd rm they put us in, because the first one had ants). 3. Woken up by chainsaws and landscapers at 7am. (palm trees being cut back and groundskeeping). Called front desk, they stated that the landscaping is done on Friday's and Monday's. Ok, I understand, but atleast warn the guests, I would not have scheduled that long of a stay and avoided the landscapers. 4. Landscaper standing out in front of room running the blower, but he was not cleaning anything. He was stopped in front of our room, staring at the females that were enjoying the pool. He did not move from in front of our window, until I made myself noticeable in the window. 5. Called to speak to Manager, big mistake. Manager proceeded tp recite California State Law to us regarding hours of landscaping??? Then, proceeded to tell us that he cannot please everyone. At which point, we asked for someone above him, which he stated, "I don't answer to no one." I don't work for no one, I'm the boss." 6. Later called front desk in hopes to talk to someone new, female at front desk listened to our concerns and stated that she would get back to us. No one got back to us. 7. Tried to order from the restaurant, did not have the first meal I ordered (salmon), neither the next (steak) nor the next (appetizer). Gave up after that. Atleast the guy had customer service skills. Consideration was all it took to resolve this matter, we were not asking for a discount, anything for free, etc. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Only problem we encountered was that we had no phone (not working) and smoke alarm not working (in case of emergency). Front desk contacted, told it would be corrected, but not during our 4day stay. Very clean room and employees very nice.

The shower stall in our bathroom was designed for people who are under five feet tall. I'm only 5'5" and had a problem taking a shower. Had to sit down in the stall to rinse my hair. We had an unexpected one day delay in arrival date. Our room was pre-booked and paid for in advance. We phoned the hotel and let them know. We asked that the reservation be held for one day and were told it wasn't a problem. When we arrived our reservation had been cancelled. Only when I demanded a refund did they "find" a room.

The accommodations were fine and the value for the price we paid were OK. However, there were ants crawling with us in bed in the first room. We were changed immediately and without hesitation to another room. In the other room, we had to take a shower in 4" of water as the tub would drain extremely slow. The second day we stayed, the landscapers were working in the courtyard early in the morning. When we called the manager, he indicated that, "California law stipulates that we can make noise from ...." I explained to him that I didn't care about the law and was actually looking for a quite place where we could rest since we were on business and working into the early morning hours. He then indicated to me, "We cannot satisfy every customer". I asked for the telephone number of his boss and he indicated, "I don't have a boss. People work for me. I work for myself". In finding out, he did not own the building or the company. My wife comes out of the room after the incident, and one of the landscapers is starring toward the pool at a lady in bikini... To say the least, customer service was well below standard. I will definately not recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was my second stay at Guesthouse Norwalk- it's very close to friends that I visit, and also centrally located in L.A. The hotel seems to have been re-modeling/updating and is coming along nicely. It's a great value- located in a blue collar part of L.A., so best probably if you're planning to be out and about, although it has a nice pool area for families. The staff is very nice and forthcoming.

We weren't sure how good the motel was going to be, seeing as for most nicer hotels you want to stay at a hotel for the extra security in LA. But the neighborhood was great. The hotel had been fully renovated with only one main monitored entrance and was fully staffed with security patrolling. The rooms themselves were very spacious and were in great condition. We had a problem with being given two beds instead of the one, but they promptly changed it. Enjoyed this place!

I WAS A LITTLE SCARED OF STAYING THERE SINCE I HEARD THE HOTEL HAD BEEN ABANDONED FOR A WHILE. BUT I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE HOW NICE IT WAS WHEN I GOT THERE. IT WAS GOOD, DIDN'T HAVE ANY COMPLAINS. NOT THE MOST COMFY BEDS BUT MY FAMILY SLEPT JUST FINE!

The price made this hotel my choice and i was pleasantly suprised. Very clean...Housekeeping wouldnt leave me alone when i said i didnt need service until i accepted new towels from them. Pool's nice with a spa. It's very quiet on the property and just down the street from the 605. Will be back. Oh and the 24 hr Jack in the box down past the freeway was a perfect pit stop on the way back from l.a. nightlife.

It's a good hotel for the price if you don't go expecting to get what is shown on the "more photos" on hotel.com. The lobby and pool is the only thing that really matches as far as newnest.

The motel is located near several office parks. The motel is made up of 6 different buildings 3 stories tall, with ample parking near your room. There are 2 pools on the premises. The room was spacious. 1 King bed, desk, 2 night stands, 3 lamps, television, 3 drawer dresser, iron, ironing board, no fridge or microwave in the room. Only a shower stall no bathtub. Free wireless internet access, ask the front desk about it. The room I was in (room 4105) hadn't been renovated in years and was showing its age. The cold water faucet was loose and leaky. The baseboards were falling off and there was chipping paint. The walls do not have adequate sound insulation. I could quite clearly hear neighbors moving around in their room, and any time someone walked by the room I could hear them. The staff was friendly enough although didn't ask too much from them. The bar / restaurant is a little unusual. It has a very limited menu and service was through the bartender. I didn't eat there because of the limited nature of the menu.

Overall it was a good experience. The hotel had a great price for all of the amenities it had. The staff was nice. They have two pools, a restaurant on site, a lounge/bar, night club. The hotel itself has an older looking look to it but the rooms were very clean. The lobby was very nice too.

Original check in time was around 3pm and I checked in at 5pm and the room was not ready. Also I wanted one King size bed, but they said they were all out. What is the point of booking a room and selecting a preference if it will not be granted? I called the front counter and they said oh well we can't do anything about it.

Overall the hotel was good for the $$ and location. The TV remote didn't work, and I am not sure if it was a faulty phone system or some kid playing with the phone but, although I did not ask for wake up calls, my phone rang repeatedly 3 times starting at 6 AM. Finally had to unplug the phone. A friend tried to call me at the hotel and was told that I was not a guest. I had read previous reviews all suggesting that they needed to work on customer service and I agree with that.

the hotel was great for the price i paid. however the staff tey were so understaffed that we waited far to long to get checked in as wel as about 5 other parties. the front desk had to double service for events + regular buisness. although she was great at costomer service, she was subject to many errors because of the stress level she was under. this is cleary managments error for not having the additional help. guet were fustrated by lack of service but felt sorry for the clerk. she was wonderful nontheless!

This is my second time staying at these hotels. I again was pleasantly content to coming back after a day of running around & found the hotel to be a relaxing & comforting place to come back to. I made reservations to arrive on a Friday & ended up calling to let the hotel staff know that I would be arriving @ 3 to 4 in the morning on Sat. They were very understanding & when I arrived they had sec inspect the hotel first & then waited outside for us to direct us to our room. The best part was when we got to our room we were suprised to find that we had been upgraded to a suite - we feel in love - it was like staying in an apt w/ all the extra amenities. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a very comfortable place to stay at a very reasonable price. I cant wait to stay there again. :)

This hotel is near major freeways and minutes from places to eat. Other reviews said there were no convenient places to eat, chances are they didnt want to drive not even 5 minutes to find something. when we checked in, it was easy and smooth. parking was gated so i felt safe. when we got to our room, the key woudlnt open the door, but... i asked my boyfriend to go check what the deal was. before i got there i had called because i insisted on a king size bed. so anyways, he went to check and came back. he said were moving to another room. i was so angry... but, when we stepped in our room, not only was there a king size bed, they accomodated us with a full blown suite. i was pretty happy. i paid for a regular standard guest room, and was accomodated with a suite. great hotel, very clean, great price, and great staff.

I requested a king size & paid for it in full, but when got to the hotel my room was given away. They gave me a smaller room with two beds. The tv was broken & they had a mini suite but wouldn't give it to me unless I pay the difference. I was more than upset. In closing if you don't have too stay here don't.

Was extremely pleased with out stay at this hotel. I was nervous because I heard some areas in this neighborhood were not the safest & reviews of other nearby hotel were very unpleasant. I was delighted to see that the hotel was represented accurately by the pictures on hotels.com. Only downside was when I checked in I had reservations for a king bed & instead was stuck with 2 queen beds. My stay was for 2 nights & the next morning I asked if I could please move to a room w/a king bed. They were more than happy to accomadate the request. Both hotel rooms were very clean & well taken care of - the beds were very comfortable & overall hotel was very quiet. Only time I heard anyone else was in the morning while people are getting ready in the morning. They have a very comfortable sitting area outside with rocking chairs & tables w/ umbrellas & a restaurant that serves a breakfast buffet. I unfortunately didn't get to try the breakfast, but was very impressed that it was not just a continental breakfast. (Times for breakfast were 6-10a). Also check out was 12:00p so I didn't feel rushed. My boyfriend & I were very happy with our stay @ this hotel & have no doubt this is were we will stay next time were in the norwalk - downey area. :)

IT WAS NOT IN A AREA CLOSE TO STORES-RESTURANTS ECT, THE TOILET WAS BROKE & THE BATHROOM HAD ANTS I CALLED THE OFFICE TO HAVE BOTH THE TOILET & ANTS TAKEN CARE OF. MY LAST DAY THERE THERE WAS TWICE AS MANY ANTS ALL OVER THE COUNTER ON MY PERSONAL THINGS IN THE TUB & ON THE TOILET THAT DIDN'T WORK AGAIN. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN I DON'T CARE HOW MUCH MONEY I SAVE & I TRAVEL TO THIS AREA OFTEN ON BUSINESS OR WILL I RECOMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. ALSO ONE REASON FOR STAYING HERE IT HAD A FITNESS ROOM & EVERY MACHINE WAS BROKE.
