Hotel Floris Avenue - Bruselas

Ideally situated half way between the Eurostar (Brussels Midi) station and the Grande Place - centre of Brussels. If you stay at this hotel you can avoid paying for taxis. The hotel is simple but clean; the rooms are large and the area is quiet at night. The breakfast buffet is very good.

I read reviews prior to reserving the rooms and the main thing that concerned me are the negative comments about the neighborhood. We had absolutely no problem with the neighborhood. It was not the touristy/rich area that you would pay a price for, but if you don't really care about that, this place is great. It was a little poorer of a neighborhood but VERY convenient to all the sites and I never felt unsafe. The hotel itself was very nice. Breakfast was pretty good (just skip the scrambled eggs). Our room was much much bigger than we expected. We did have a couple of issues with the room. The tub didn't drain well and there was a pair of someone's socks left under the bed from the people who were there before us. It didn't make me feel that they did a very good cleaning between guests. Besides that the room seemed very clean and the people that worked there were very helpful and nice. I would recommend this hotel despite the few "issues".

This hotel was ok for the money. Could recommend it to for easy access to Brussels Eurostar Station "Midi" and the city centre.

Hotel is in a great location for Eurostar and for the town centre. First time I stayed (in 2006) I thought wow, clean and modern, and a great breakfast. This time (2008) I was put off a bit by a dark room at the back of the hotel, and a very smoky smelling non-smoking room. However, on complaining about this I was allocated another room which was much better.

The Floris Avenue is fairly centrally located for seeing most of the sights of central Brussels and is also close to metro and pre-metro stops. Its exceptionally clean and our room was very large and comfortable. The hotel is newly decorated throughout to a high standard. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. If I had one gripe it was that the staff looking after breakfast were either slow or short-staffed and many of the options had frequently run out regardless of the time we chose to eat at. However, what was available was very nice.

I had read in a few places that people thought this Hotel was in a bad location. I don't agree. It is literally a 5-10 min. walk (4 to 5 city blocks) walk from the Grand Place \ Manniken Pis etc. Were there some neighborhood drunks? Yes! But that doesn't automatically make it a bad neighborhood. Our only complaint is that we were itching after sleeping in the bed. We weren't sure if it was a bad reaction to the laundry detergent used or if it was bed bugs(my wife was convinced of the latter). We were only here for a weekend and the free wi-fi Internet (in the lobby) was a great plus. We would probably stay here again.

Extremely clean rooms, friendly, hospitable staff, great breakfast. Couldn't ask for more!

Helt ok hotel. Rent och bra frukost. Men tyvärr låg mitt rum på samma våning som reception. Vaknade bägge mornar kl. 04.00 då receptionens telefon ringde!

Hotellet ligger i et strøk med sexbutikker etc. Lyspære på badet var gått. Senger med madrasser av dårligste kvalitet. Essensielt med god mdrass på et hotell. Absolutt hyggelig personale.

Chambre spacieuse et de bonne qualité par contre impossible d'arrêter la ventilation durant la nuit !!! petit désagrement le matin, légère odeur de cuisine alors que les fenêtres sont fermées.

de locatie is fantastisch, lopend naar de mGrote Markt en het hotel is net verbouwd, is in een uitstekende staat. Ruime kamers en een zeer goed ontbijt.

Die Lage ist nicht edel, aber sehr praktisch zwischen gare du midi und Altstadt. Das Hotel ist geschmackvoll eingerichtet, ruhig und das Frühstuck gut. Klimaanlage und Gepäckaufbewahrungsservice waren sehr angenehm.

L'hôtel est agréable, bien situé, confortable à part la literie un peu molle, les fenêtres simple vitrage, l'inexistence de rideaux occultants, ce qui promet un réveil aux aurores à moins de se concocter un calfeutrage de fenêtre maison ! En bref, il faudrait vraiment peu de choses pour que le confort soit total. A signaler : en période haute saison, le personnel de haute qualité est en effectif réduit (mauvaise organisation et gestion de la part de la Direction de l'hôtel) et pâtit en plus de l'incompétence de la Direction. Nous avons été témoins d'une scène scandaleuse où le personnel qui a fait un travail formidable (2 personnes pour s'occuper de 80 clients) s'est vu fortement réprimandé et menacé de licenciement en argumentant que la Direction "ne pouvait pas demander à l'investisseur de recruter du personnel supplémentaire !". Nous avons trouvé le comportement de ce responsable inacceptable et nous avons été surpris par son manque de professionnalisme et son irresponsabilité à l'image de la Direction de l'hôtel et de son investisseur. Seul le "petit" personnel est digne des 4 étoiles qui ornent l'hôtel.

Un hôtel très bien situé, à 15 mn a pied de la gare bruxelles midi, et à 15 mn a pied également du centre ville... Très propre, un petit déjeuner standard mais copieux, une chambre immense. Seul petit bémol: les quatre étoiles de l'hôtel. Il s'agit plutôt d'un très bon deux étoiles: le téléphone rococo, la télé qui date pas mal, quelques poignées balantes... Mais rien qui gâche un séjour en amoureux!

War von dem doch sehr großen Zimmer beeindruckt. Normalerweise findet man in dieser Kathegorie nur kleine Zimmer.

il n est pas facile de trouver de la place pour se garer le dérouleur de papier de la chambre etait arracher et poser sur une étagère dans la salle de bain bizar pour un 4 étoile
