Omni San Diego Hotel - San Diego

There were many things about this hotel that I liked, like the quick access to Petco Park and the baseball memorabilia displayed on the walls. The service exceeded our expectations- they delivered chocolate chips cookies and milk for our baby at night, and someone came by asking us if we'd like our beds turned down. However, as far as the room, we were disappointed. We paid extra for the premium room with a king sized bed, and were surprised at how small it was. The decor was very simple and the view from the room overlooked the street below and some other hotels. The noise outside was loud, but the hotel does provide ear plugs in the nightstands. The bathroom door consisted of a sliding panel with frosted glass that was about 2 inches too narrow...which meant that anyone could see into the bathroom even with the door closed. There was also urine stains on the toilet and the room smelled like it hadn't been aired out in days. When we asked for another room, they apologized and gave us a cleaner room exactly like the first, only it reeked of cigarette smoke. Once again, we asked for another room. This time, they gave us a room overlooking the water and the pool below. It was much nicer, and the doors to the bathroom could actually slide completely shut. This bathroom, however, had these openings covered by wooden shutters that could open and close. It meant that anyone in the room could open the shutters and look into the bathroom. I'm sure it was suppose to be a nice decorative detail, but it was also a little disturbing. Would I ever stay there again? No.

The overpass to Petco park was a pleasant surprise and the most convenient ammenity when going to a ball game. Aside from the great food in the hotel there are so many restaurant options within a few blocks. I would recommend the Omni to everyone!

Wonderful property, location etc, etc. We just had a bit of a problem sleeping but it was personal preference...the bed was a bit soft. Would highly recommend!

Honestly, the pictures on the website do not do justice to the lustre and ambience of this hotel. Great location, great stay. Well planned rooms and great staff. Every staff member I met was courteous and helpful, from the conceigre's desk to the cleaning lady.

Ideal location next to Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park, the service from all staff was professional yet friendly and the room (ocean facing king deluxe) was well furnished with great views. On the down side, the mini bar was very expensive and the noise from goods trains at ridiculous times of the morning woke me up every day. Wear some ear plugs or ask for the other side of the hotel if you are a light sleeper as that noise WILL wake you up.

They spoke of a great room they had instore for me, it turned out to be the worst room in the building. Valet had me walk to my car a block away (Whats that for service?)

Outstanding hotel in every aspect --cleanliness and appointments of room, helpful and friendly hotel staff, great location. Excellent value for the money.

The room was nice and comfortable. Very expensive, and when we closed the slider we smelled cigarette smoke the entire time we were there. This was supposed to be a non smoking room, on a non smoking floor.

Beutifully kept hotel. We attend many baseball games so the convenience of the private footbridge right into the ballpark! Would love to stay again!

The hotel staff was friendly and very accommodating. Staff members would smile and say hello anytime you walked by, whether or not you needed assistance (the only time that ever happened to me without fail was at a Ritz Carlton). The pool was big with a great view and good cocktails. The rooms were clean and we got an amazing view of the bay. We went there for a baseball game at Petco Park and couldn't be closer to the stadium and it was so convenient to check out and leave our bags with teh concierge before walking over the sky bridge directly into the stadium. We got our room for the price of tax only (thanks to Hotels.com member rewards) so I can't speak to the value as well as others who paid for it, but aside from that, I would highly recommend the Omni.

Stayed at the Omni on a friday night and had no problems checking in. Had tickets to the baseball game and the hotel has a private entrance to Petco Park. It took us under 5 minuted to go from our room to our seats.

Staff is excellent, always willing to help or see how they can help you. The surrounding area is great, within walking distance you fine a great mall, cute shops and every type of restaurant you can think of. You can take an evening stroll along the water front and see a beautiful sunset. Age seems to be no factor, young and old will enjoy.

Very comfortable pillow top mattress, exceptional service, safe public transportation 1/2 block from hotel and across the street from the San Diego Conference Center. The only improvment might be have a connecting walk way or tunnel to the Conference Center.

Excellent location. Could hear noise from surrounding parties on weekends but nothing that would keep me awake.

My Husband and I love this hotel! We actually live in San Diego, but love to get rooms downtown. This is a great place to stay on a game night. Get tickets and use the private entrance.

I found the Omni staff to be excellent and well-informed about how to deal with itinerant convention goers! In addition, my room was great with spectacular views. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The Omni was nice but over priced. The pillows gave me a headache & the bed was comfortable. The hotel itself was very clean & the employees were very helpful. The outside noise was really bothersome. Very noisy at night even with the windows closed. The Omni is right next to Petco Park so we did like it there. Might book there again & take earplugs.

The room was very comfortable. The view from our room on the 20th floor was great. The room was clean and the service was great.

Took my kids with me to watch Dodgers....the customer service is OUTSTANDING at the Omni !! But we had to move out of our room at 11pm due to a malfunctioning toilet. I felt to the inconvience we shoulda gotten a discount (single dad gimme a break)....but the people that work there from the highest paid to the lowest were GREAT......

We were promised a room on the 21st floor, but when we arrived, were given a room on the 18th-it was a corner room with two windows however, so I'm not sure if the staff was trying upgrade us. We opted for a room on a higher floor anyway, and made a phone call to the front desk from the first room to ask for a room higher up. W/in 2 minutes someone arrived with new keys and showed us to our new room. Service and friendliness of the staff was excellent throughout.

yes, I had the crying baby. At 7:30 at night, the security came up and told us to keep it quite. which i thought was kinda rude. Then when I called down to security at 4 am to complain about loud neighbors, they did nothing. But i complained and got all my incidentals for free. Oh, and the beds are small!

The service at this hotel was terrific. We had a wonderful room and the pool area was beautiful, clean and well maintained. Excellent service all around. We were very happy with our stay. The only downfall is the bellman and valet are a little tip hungry. Parking is pricey. But for the wonderful time we had, it did not matter.

Beautifull hotel and vwery comfortable stay. The staff are very helpful and go out of there way for all your needs. The pool was nice. The kids loved it and the view from it was nice. It is a roof top pool. We were never disturbed by the baseball games going on.

The bed and pillows were not so confortable and the train stop just below is a little distracting. Otherwise this hotel is top knotch and worth the expense. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful!

first trip to San Diego, the hotel is in a great location at the start of the gaslamp district and next to the San Diego Padres baseball stadium. The hotel is only a few years old and looks really modern with brilliant staff who cant do enough to help. In particular the concierge who arranged without our knowlege for champange to be sent to our table during a meal out. would certainly go back again and again

The people were very friendly and go above and beyond.

We were very pleased with the Omni San Diego. Perfect location, within walking distance of everything. Bridge to Petco Stadium is awesome. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Housekeeping was great also. We would definitely stay there again.

very nice hotel, can not get any better for attending games at Petco. surrounding area has all the restaurants you could want.

They give you a complimentary pair of earplugs. That's because it's right next to PETCO field. Don't expect to sleep if it's a night game and you have to go to bed early to get ready for an early morning meeting.

The rooms were not very comfortable, the beds were hard. My wife and I and our 3 kids could not sleep because of the noise from neighboring hotels. I would not stay here again.

I really like the location of the hotel. It was middle of downtown. but it was over priced and the pool was terrible. It was only 3" I could not swim at all. that pool was only for the kids.

I have traveled and stayed at some very high quality hotels. This one rated right up there with the best. The service was consistently high quality. It made my stay comfortable and enjoyable.

This hotel is perfect for a weekend away at the ball game. It has a sky bridge that easily gets you from the hotel to the park, which was amazing. The price was okay for the quality we received, but it was during Spring Break and opening weekend at PetCo Park, so I guess that was why the rates were a bit steep. The area is great, the hotel is clean, and it has great views. I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to a game or anyone visting the Gaslamp area.

Great Service. Excellent Location. Certainly would stay at the Omni Hotel in San Diego again!
