Quo Puerta Del Sol - Madrid

This was our first stop on a three week trip. The staff was very helpful in orienting us to our daily destinations. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Don't open the window if you are using the AC as it automatically turns off. Everything is within walking distance or use the metro. Cute cafe just outside the entrance for breakfast or tapas in the evening.

Nice hotel....small rooms (normal for Europe), yet comfortable and modern feel overall. Great staff always willingto answer questions in a positive attitude. A bit loud street noise if you are looking for tranquility...but great central location if you are looking for convenient location.

We absolutely loved the location - you cannot find a better place to stay in Madrid if you are looking to be in the center of it all and not have to use taxis. Our original room was tiny and the AC was barely working - it was a huge disappointment at first, HOWEVER i approached the concierge and askied to switch to a better room. I was given the key to another room right away, was allowed to check it out, and then move. The new room was larger than European standards, with excellent AC and spacious bathroom. So, my advice is - if you are not happy with your original room, ASK for a better one (they surely have them but may try to fit you into a less desirable room first). Otherwise, the place is impeccable, especially considering affordability of this hotel.

This hotel was in the center of Puerto Del Sol. The main area in Madrid. The room was small, but well kept and very modern. Our room was facing the busy street. Spainards like to stay out late so be prepared if your not out with them. Plenty of Metro stations nearby. Coffee house "Faborit" was within walking distance. Be prepared to lug your luggage up a flight of stairs if you take the metro and get off of "Sevilla". Get off of "Sol" and walk the extra 8 minutes. They have elevators and escalators!! A huge help!!

very modern decor. Perfect location for sightseeing. Two metro stops very close by. The rooms with 2 single beds are much larger than the ones with "matrimonial" beds which are just doubles or queens. The staff was not particularly friendly or helpful.

Can't really rate this much higher because we weren't willing to pay 5 star rates! Literally 5 minutes' walk from Puerta del Sol and everything round about. Not far off being as central as you can get

I was in Madrid for business and spent two nights at this hotel. It is a great central location, comfortable and offers free WiFi, which is important while working on the road. The only strange thing was that it did not have a chair at the desk, but no big deal. I simply sat on the bed and did my work on my laptop. I liked this hotel!

Near to most attractions, this hotel is very convenient. We arrived Madrid in early morning, left our luggage at the hotel and went for a walk and light lunch. The room was ready when we returned at 1:30pm. We showered and hit the bed (a good way to start the siesta habit and to help adjust for jetlag). The bed was too hard but we were too tired. After napping for 2 hours, we went out again and on the way out we complained about the bed. When we came back after a couple of hours, they already changed our mattress to a softer, and much more comfortable, one. We were happily impressed by the hotel staff's responsiveness and efficiency. The convenient location made it easy for us to make our room our rest stop way station as we crisscross the city. The only downside is the small size of the room. But the bathroom is appointed with modern amenities and pretty comfortable. Wifi was free but the reception was poor in my room. I needed to go out to the hallway to get better reception. This seemed to be a common problem throughout our trip in Spain. Our room was on the 6th floor facing the side street and was quite quiet. Some faint noises from the street below could still be heard, but they were not really disturbing. I would use this hotel if I go to Madrid again.

The central location and refurbished rooms make this hotel a great place to stay for a lively weekend in the Santa Ana, Place del Sol and Huertas areas. Rooms are not really big but have got proper facilities. Second floor rooms have got nice small balcony. Strangely enough music is played in hallways all day which is quite hearable in the rooms but not too disturbing. Free Wifi and willing but not really knowledgable staff make it a proper stay. Don't expect 4/5 star quality, but a very decent stay in the heart of a lovely city. Would recommend it to friends.

A very nice and modern hotel in the heart of Madrid. Rooms were very comfortable and a good size. Excellent location to visit the sites of Madrid on foot and from which to visit good restaurants as well as entertainment in the evenings.

Great location, nice staff, clean but small rooms

Great location, great helpful staff, great value for the money. Would recommend it any time.

Initially was quite impressed when we first arrived, as receptionist was quite friendly and booked us an amazing place to eat, La Traguntua. Things got progressively worse though, the rooms were not clean, under the beds, chairs, etc it was filthy... obviously only hoovered what was visible. The second day we ask the female receptionist to recommend a place to eat and she simply said 'everywhere will be booked up'... absolutely ZERO help. I took my travel book out, and asked her to ring a few numbers, and the second place she rang was free!!! But worst of all on the last night, myself and my sister were going downstairs at 11.30pm to pay our minibar bill, and the TINY rickity lift broke down for 40 minutes, between floors so we were trapped for some time. After waiting for a mechanic, we eventually got out, walked down the five flights of stairs to the receptionist, we told him we were trapped in the lift and merely shrugged his shoulders... I asked for a discount on the min-bar as a result, and his response was 'oh no, I couldnt do that'.... TERRIBLE... never ever go back there again.

Nice place, clean

The Quo exceeded our expectations in terms of service, location and quality. Despite all the good reviews and the four star rating, we were a bit apprehensive about the quality of the hotel given the low price. So we were pleasantly surprised to find a quality hotel in an unbeatable location when we arrived. The staff was exceedingly helpful and courteous and the room was modern and comfortable. Though the bathtub needed some maintenance, the bathroom itself was very clean, spacious and well-kept. (You can see through the bathroom door, however, which wasn't a problem for me, since I was there with my husband, but some folks might need more privacy).

The location was perfect, right in the center of town. The bathroom door was odd, there was about an inch on 1 side where you could see through so there was little to no privacy in the bathroom. The room was a bit small as well but we were not in the room that long because of the great location

Good location, friendly staff, English spoken, good rates

Room was a little small, but the free wi-fi was a big plus! Rooms were just as pictured- very modern and clean. The staff were very helpful with questions and directions, and the hotel location is perfect.

The hotel was very clean and the rooms were decent size. The bathrooms were very nice with a tub/shower combo, something you usually dont see in Europe. The room had a nice flat screen tv with a mini bar and safe. The widow opened so you could let the fresh air of Madrid in your room. We loved the hotel, the friendly staff and the great location. Would definetly stay there again.

Bel hôtel, personnel sympa, mais bruyant côté rue. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de chaîne musicale sur la TV

Zentrale Lage im historischen Viertel unweit der wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten zB max. 15 -20 Gehminuten zum Königspalast, Prado oder Thyssen- Museum, kaum 10 Minuten zum Plaza Mayor. Rezeption sehr freundlich und auskunftsbereit, moderne Zimmerausstattung- tlw Spuren der Abnützung, Fenster bieten ausreichend Schallschutz, Klimaanlage funktionierte einwandfrei. Das gesamte Hotel wirkte sehr sauber und gepflegt.

Hotel in posizione centralissima a Madrid, ottima camera, pulita, comoda ed elegante.Lo staff è cordiale e ci ha accolto con gentilezza...Lo consiglio!!
