Rooms were really lovely and the Aveda products a treat. I found the staff were really helpful. The free buffet breakfast was a nice bonus and the complimentary cocktails in the evening were a plus. This hotel is in a great location for exploring the city, between the Magnificent mile and the Loop. We walked everywhere.

I would definitely stay here again. I would have liked to have had a bar though. However, the cocktail party is a nice perk. Also, the breakfast is nice, which lowers some of your travel cost to spend on a nice dinner, etc.

Cool, boutique property with a European feel. The free continental buffett on each floor was a nice, welcome perk. I would stay here again.

Great European style hotel. Comfortable and chic. Two surprises one was that room service was from the restaurant Harry Cary's a block away. Food wasn't bad, but it was a bit more expensive than it would have been if made in-house. Nice touch in the morning where a quick and free continental breakfast of baked goods, cereal, coffee, tea and juice was set up on each floor's elevator lobby. I certainly stay at this property again.

I loved this hotel. The staff was very friendly and it wasn't hard to find. I'm a student so money is an issue for me and sometimes am disappointed in the hotels that I pick that end up having me get what I paid for - not much. This hotel was not like that though, I definately got more than I paid for. Everything was very clean, the staff was friendly and the continental breakfast got my day started off right.

This hotel is located in the best part of city if your plan to travel in the loop and River North areas. It's in walking distance to both neighborhoods and is very conveniently located near Michigan Ave. shopping. There are lots of places to eat nearby and the staff was helpful. I would stay here again.

My husband and I often travel to Chicago for weekend getaways. We like to try new hotels every time we go. This was our first stay at the Amalfi and I have to say I was very impressed with the staff. They were totally engaged and some of the most helpful people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. We arrived early and they offered to see if our room was avaiable, without us even asking!!! My only complaint would be that the upkeep in the carpets could be better. However, the rest of the room was very clean and beautiful.

We stayed here in October and could'nt wait to go back. The location is great, we walked to the theater district, millinium park, and lots of other places. The evening reception was great top shelf drinks. Our room was comfortable, and staff very helpful and accomadating.

Really comfortable bed; friendly helpful staff; great free continental breakfast; good location. What's not to like? The only negative I can think of is that the carpet in the room could stand a shampooing. Otherwise, this is a great small boutique hotel (no restaurant or bar in hotel, but next door).

Our stay was a very pleasant stay. We were highly impressed with the fact that we were able to check in as soon as we got off the train (9:30 a.m.). The bellman greeted us enthusiastically and most staff was very helpful. We enjoyed the cocktail hour and the continental breakfast. The two concerns that we had, which are huge by any means, but still should address: 1. George, one of the consiereges, was not helpful at all when choosing a place for dinner. We had a list of resturaunts that someone suggested and we asked for his imput. He basically bypassed the list and suggested another place, which was a very disorganized place. 2. Upon checking out bags out, the employee who was responsible for getting our bags had a hard time locating my bag. They ticket each bag and I assumed that he would have looked at my stub that I gave him to match up my bag to the ticket. I ended up having to go back into the holding room to retrieve my bag because he couldn't find it. It ended up being in the office for some strange reason. Other than these two concerns we were very happy with our stay.

This hotel is located in the heart of Chicago. It has good service, but for the price you can find another hotel that is the same quality but cheaper.

We stayed at the Amalfi during a family vacation - two kids both over 10 yrs old. The staff was top notch and the location great - easy walk to Michigan Avenue, Navy Pier, Hancock building, and a multitude of great restaurants. The rooms weren't huge but were also not overly small. The continental breakfast was good, although having some fruit available would have been a nice touch. Overall, a fine hotel with staff who are very approachable, courteous and willing to help.

This hotel was perfect. Perfect service, the had everything that you could ask for. Breakfest was good, computer/business center to print out "planned day" for chicago. I could have not asked for anything else. Walkable distance to "Michigan Ave", "Navy Pier", Sears, well "Willis Tower" now. It was great. Thx Amalfi

Overall the hotel was nice, and in a great location. The room was great for the rate; however, the service was a bit surprising and not in a good way. I didn't realize that checking in or out was an inconvenience for employees. For the most part they were rude and arrogant; probably won't be staying here again.

I stayed at Amalfi for my girlfriends birthday and called the day of to have a rose placed on the bed before the check-in, the staff was extremely pleasant and accomodating. Everything went smoothly. Great hotel

The entire staff is very friendly. We were treated well and with warm smiles all over the hotel. The room was immaculate and very comfortable. There are enough restaurants within walking distance for all tastes. Short cab drives can take you to most museums, Navy Pier, and other tourist sites. This is a newly remodeled hotel! My wife and I loved the experience.

This hotel was very nice. I didn't have any problems checking in or any problems in general. The breakfast was EXCEPTIONAl! The only problem I experienced is that when I checked out, they charged me 88 dollars for parking but I had not parked because we flew out to Chicago for my 21st birthday. That 88 dollars caused me personally some issues with my bank but honestly when I called and spoke to the manager of the Amalfi, she was very nice and understanding and gave me a refund of the 88 dollars.

hotel was in a pretty good location dispite the surrounding construction. asked to be moved rooms and was not told about the fee until i checked my bank statement. wanted to use the mini bar but almost all products were a little past or well over expiration date. but the location was nice and the beds were comfortable.

I was very impressed with my stay at the Amalfi Hotel Chicago. The staff were very helpful. We parked overnight and checked out in the morning. However, we wanted to stay in the city so they kept our bags in a private room. This was very helpful. I would stay in this hotel again.

Great staff with excellent recommendations. Great morning breakfast/newspaper. And the location could not have been more perfect. Even with construction around us, it didn't interfere or was there much noise.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Amalfi Hotel. The bathroom was very clean, and I had nice toiletries. The room overall was clean. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The only complaints I had were that the room made me slightly claustrophobic ((as it was slightly small)) and the sheets had a rip or two in them...? Odd. All in all it was a nice first stay in Chicago for us.

I travel to Chicago often on business and have stayed at many hotels in the downtown area. This was a pleasure trip and my first stay at the Amalfi. I was deligheted. The most outstanding aspect was the attentiveness of the staff. The rooms are well appointed and the morning and evening food and beverages services were very good. The Amalfi is a terrific value for downtown Chicago.

The Amalfi exceeded our expectations. The staff was helpful in giving us directions to attractions within the Chicago area, providing us with maps and tips for getting around. They were also super friendly and said hi to us every time we walked by, which really made us feel welcome. The funky ultra modern decor (complete with ambient eltronica music) made the lobby of the hotel feel like an upscale spa. We didn't get a chance to enjoy the complimentary cocktail hour, which was unfortunate, as that would've added to the value of our stay, but alas we were elsewhere meeting friends. The flatpanel LCD TV in the room was a little small, but we were there to sightsee, not watch television. The room also had a DVD player and mini bar, which was convenient, though we didn't use either. There was a small conference room on our floor, about 4 rooms down from ours, where there was a conference session going on. It wasn't disruptive at all, but it was a little bit strange walking down to the continental breakfast in my pajamas in the morning and passing by people in business suits. By the way, there is a continental breakfast located on every floor in the mornings, which is really convenient. We only stayed at the Amalfi for one night, but we would definitely stay there again.

I took my daughter to Chicago to do a little shopping and go to a show. Both were within walking distance along with some great restaurants. The hotel had cocktail reception that was nice (free soda for my daughter) and a mediocre breakfast but enough to tie us over. I thought the price was a bit high, but it is Chicago. Parking was outrageous.

Overall a positive experience. The evening free cocktails were a nice touch. The workout room is nothing fancy but adequate considering this is a small boutique type hotel. The $44/day parking was obscene in general but pretty standard for the location. I plan on going back.
