This was our second time visiting MonteLago - and it won't be our last - we are now thinking about investing in this development.! After 4 hectic days on the Las Vegas strip this is exactly what you need. We collected our hire car from the airport, picked up groceries on the 17 mile drive to this fabulous lake side location - even has its own casino. The Italian style village has some nice restaurants and shops ( bit on the pricey side) so everything is on your doorstep. We were lucky enough to get the same 1 bed apartment we previously rented - lovely sunny balcony and all home comforts. The resort also has 2 wonderful pools and provides towels. The village was very quiet but can be very busy as there are many events held here including concerts, jazz festivals, shows etc There is free underground parking for your car and a laundry for guest use. Easy access to drive to Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon Sky Walk etc - much cheaper to visit yourself than the arranged tours. If you visit MonteLago Village Resort you won't be disappointed!

We went for July 4th and didn't want to stay on the Strip. It was great for our family, because of the band, fireworks and general atmosphere. Our room was very nice, but other than the 4th, there isn't a lot going on. Nice pools, boat rentals on the lake (if you are up before it's too hot), decent restaurants.

We upgraded to a one bedroom suite, the room was beautiful with a big bathroom, kitchen, dining area and patio. The bed was rock hard. There were no washcloths, only 2 shower towels (one which was dirty), no shower ammenities (only soap), they didn't change the sheets, we had to call and ask for more paper towels for the kitchen (even after the room had been cleaned) and when we left, there was a cockroach under our luggage. We agreed it was nice enough to stay there again. But for the price we paid for the room, we expected better service/cleaning.

The beds were very hard. There were no box springs, but rather just the boards from the frame. There was no hair conditioner and when I asked the maid if she would please leave us some, she said they didn't have any. On the positive side, the views were breath taking.

My boyfriend lives in Las Vegas due to his job and this was a great 'getaway' location. The hotel was very peaceful with great views. We stayed in a Luna Studio (mountain view) and it was great. A very short walk to the shops and restaurants. All in all it was a very relaxing trip to this resort.

What a great developement, lovely setting on the lake with a new developement offering all you could want and the best bit is that it was deserted so we almost had it totally to ourselves. The location is a short drive from shops and restaurants if you want to explore the area and an easy drive into the strip. This was obviously planned and built during the good times a couple of years ago and now it is finished no great numbers can go any more. When we stayed in April we had it almost to ourselves-no exageration. You were lucky if you met anyone which may not be to everyone's liking but is great if you want to be away from the hussle of other holidaymakers. The shops and restaurants seem to be just surviving and were a bit pricey but there was plenty of choice within a 15-20 minute drive. Everywhere was lovely and clean and the facade of all the buildings was very attractive. The facilities of a pool, gym, hottub etc were all there but this is not the place for you if you want it lively. Get in quick as probably in 6-12 months this could be a ghost town if the downturn doesn't end soon.

This hotel is luxury all the way, set in the beautiful area of Lake Las Vegas. You are surrounded by multi-million dollar homes overlooking a tuscan like little town with of course the lake as the focal point. Awesome room (luna di lusso studio) had full kitchen, living room, bed room, dining area, separate stand up shower and huge soak in tub, all with modern decor. Just a short walk to the in resort restaurants and shops and about 20 minutes away from the strip. Excellent hotel, A+ service and extra clean rooms. I would definitely stay here again.

I live here in Las Vegas and Lake Las Vegas is where my husband and I enjoy staying for a quick getaway. The views are fantastic and the rates are great compared to anything on the Strip. Expect a little walk to find your room, leave your bags in the car while you check in. I've had better beds, but otherwise the room was comfortable with modern deco.

We stayed in a Viera 2 brdm lake view. The room was smaller compared to other 2 bdrm timeshare style resorts. The living rm had only one couch and the dining rm table to sit at. The master bedrm did not have a TV. The village was cute, but our first night we walked around and everything was closed, the next morning we walked around about 10:30am and everything was closed except one gift shop. I called the concierge for help finding a pharmacy and she said she would call me back and never did. We ate at the casino and the food was okay and the menu was limited. We ate great appetizers at the mexican restaurant. The pool has no amenities, no wait staff, not even cold water to drink, only towels. It was a 1/2 hour drive to the strip and very, very quite almost too quite. There is nothing that decribes the activites just a number to call for reservations. If you have a large truck or suv parking will be very difficult as it is underground and very small and no clear signs on how to get to your room if you find a spot. Golf was GREAT! Slots were tight!

I did talk with another man who was staying on the main side and he was not happy with the clock bell ringing or the contsruction noise, but our side was great.

Our stay at the Monte Lago was truly amazing in every aspect. The hotel people were friendly and informative. The room was clean and the set-up was perfect. The scenery was beautiful and serene.

Monte Lago is very senic and picturesue. But the it was the little things that turned us off. Right after our check in, we hunted the room for a book on what ammenities the hotel offered and if there was room service offered. Finally, the front desk said they would send one right over. After 2 hrs we had to call again. It finally arrived 3.5 hrs after we first called. On check in, we had a full compliment of towels and coffee. The first day we were shorted 2 bath towels and got one coffee. The next day still short on the bath towels now missing the hand towel and bath mat and no coffee and we could tell the room really hadnt been cleaned. The maid service really didnt improve the rest of our stay. Also I wouldnt eat at the resort itself. We had breakfast at the main building. Just how hard is it to cook a egg over easy. One night we ate at the Italian cafe in the Monte Lago village, the lasagna was good but the spagehetti was horrible. This place is definitely worth seeing, and is a great oasis and offers a lot. The service really needs to improve. In addit

Our Keys stopped working on 2 different occasions presumably because they checked us out although we were there (paid in advance) for the week. One time we were in our bathing suits & as the registration building was on the other side of the lake it was a large problem because not only were our clothes & money locked in our room so was our car locked in the parking garage. Then whenever we were locked out our room was not made up presumably because we had checked out. We are promised a 20% discount if Hotels.com reimburses my credit card.
