"Go to Jamaica, Just don't stay at Samsara"

The Hotel wasn't that bad. When we were there, hurricane Gustov was there too. We had no power for 3 days. I know thats not there fault, how ever they did have a generator- but they couldn't get it working. There was only 1 person that came around to check on us. They didn't come and give us candles & matches like they said they would. No one came to clean our room, ever. It was very wet, & the floors are tile, so they got very slick. We had to use our bath towels to wipe the floor. Trying to get more towels was almost impossible, but we managed to get a few. During all of this they would not even give us a free cup of coffee. I am sure if the weather was good it would have been much different. Over all the staff was not that freindly, with the exception of a few. The pool area is great, right on the water. How ever I would not stay there again, nor would I recomend any one else to. Jamaica it self is wonderful, we did not stay at this resort the whole time, so the trip was not totally ruined. The second place we stayed at was wonderful, and really made the trip. So go to Jamaica, just don't stay as Samsara.

"Nice hotel, great value"

I love Negril! Samsara is in a great location on the rocky cliffs of the West End. Great sunset views. Nice rooms. Beautiful landscaping. No sandy beach but you can climb down the ladders from the rocky cliffs and swim in the ocean. Or you can take a short bus ride to the sandy beaches nearby. Most Negril hotels have become expensive, but Samsara still offers good value if you reserve through hotels.com. We got just the room (not the all-inclusive) so we weren't tied to eating at the hotel. There are a number of nice restaurants to choose from nearby, so that's what I recommend. We did eat a few meals at Samsara. The food was good but not great. A small complaint: No wireless internet, and they overcharged to use the hotels slow internet-connected computer. Go down the road to Sue's Internet Cafe for better value. Another complaint: Samsara wanted to charge us an arm and a leg for bringing our 2 Jamaican step-children to our room to stay in the extra bed (like, way more than I was paying for the room in the first place). Hey, I'm paying for the room, I can do what I want, that's my attitude. (Side note: Me and my wife have "adopted" 2 Jamaican kids from the poor countryside. We help them out and sponsor their education. We just wanted to bring them to Samsara to join us for a weekend as a special treat, and we didn't want to pay a fortune to Samsara for this good deed). To be fair, Samsara did back down on this one, but only after a long and unpleasant argument. Anyway, overall I give Samsara a thumbs-up. It offers good value and is probably the best of the lower-priced establishments in the Negril.

"Samsara Hotel"

The hotel is not what I expected, its nothing like the internet picture. It need major upgrade with the buildings. It need painting. We were placed in a cottage accross from the hotel with lots of bugs and no ac. They need to serve more fresh foods as oppose to can foods. The also need to change the cook the food was terrible. The also need to have activities for children, there was none. I dont plan to visit Samsara no time soon.

"The best place for the price"

The best value. You can pay double or triple for a marginally better hotel, and it won't be worth it. Mainly european couples were at the hotel during our visit.
