Amazonia Lisboa Hotel - Lisbon

The vlaue for the room is not great. No service, customer service is poor, room is small, dirty and smells. Area of the hotel is not within woalking distance of anything. No food in hotel and nothing around the area. Spend a little more and get a nicer place.

For the price, this hotel is pretty good. Yet, when they say twin size bed, it means the room is the size of a shoe box. I was there for 2 nights. The television did not work.

This hotel is somewhat away from sightseeing spots, and there are not many restaurant choices close by. The junior suite was not as nice as their advertising would lead you to believe, and there is barely any separation between the double bed and the couch bed. The couch-bed collapsed during the night. The staff was very helpful, and the room was clean.

This is a hotel for people who don't need pampering as you're unlikely to get it from the staff! I returned late to the hotel and was very hungry and the only option was the vending machine. Not only was it almost empty - a few packets of biscuits and a few other unappetising things - the receptionist had no change! Result: to bed on an empty stomach! I recommend the hotel's restaurant next door (when it's open) although I did feel I was being rushed through my courses. It's a tad expensive - 12 euros for a pasta dish - but the food is nice. Other than these concerns I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a no-frills option. I do advise you to get a taxi to the hotel as it's quite hilly in the surrounding area!

The hotel was generally sub-par. The beds are hard as rocks, and to describe the pillows as "lumpy" gives lumpy pillows a bad name. After seeing the first room (with mold growing on the cracked ceiling), we asked for a different room. The new room was better but housed a leaking toilet and nearly broken shower. From the description on Hotels.com, I assumed that breakfast was included, however, found out that it was not (7 or 8 euro per person per breakfast). The breakfast wasn't good at all either. However, this was not really a problem because there was a pastry shop just down the road with great breakfast that cost less than 5 euro each morning for my wife and I combined. The cost of internet in the hotel was rediculous (5 euro per hour or 14-18 euro per day for highspeed internet). Also, don't plan on making calls from the rooms. Even with a phone card, toll free calls can't be made from the room, you have to use the public phone in the lobby. If you made local calls from the room, I seem to remember that it was 0.30 euro/minute. Calls to the States were over 1 euro/minute from the room. The phone card that I bought was 5 euro for 150 minutes just to give an example. Finially, you will want to bring your own soap/shampoo/conditioner. In the rooms, there was no shampoo/conditioner and the body wash soap was dispensed from a bathroom style push button disperser. The room would have been poor for a discount hotel in the US, definitely not worth the cost.

It was not what we expected. The bathroom and beds were subpar for the price.

To reach the Hotel one has to either take a Taxi or use the subway (also known as Metro) or the Bus. Both are within walking distance of the hotel. If the customer has problems walking, but still wants to walk to the downtown area, this is not the Hotel for you. As i put in for my search i put in for Breakfast..the Hotel does have a restaurant, but Breakfast is not included in the rate and is additional 8 euros per person. Overall the Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, except for the Carpet was good. The carpet needed to be replaced in my room. The airconditioning was noisy so is the hotel too. The Hotel lies in a sidestreet, so you cant hear traffic noise, but it could use some addtional soundproofing, because you could hear people in the hallway talking and the Aircondition was loud.

The photos do not represent the rooms. The pool is closed most of the year. I felt like I was staying in a cheap motel, not a 3 star hotel. The airconditioner barely worked, the carpets were soiled and worn, the walls needed fixing (large cracks in them) and repainting. The furniture was dirty. Some of the lights did not work. They did not give you an amenities such as soap, shampoo, etc. A junior suite is just a room with a couch. The staff always seemed annoyed when you asked a question. The location is in a local neighborhood which is difficult to get around - especially when trying to walk to other areas of the city.

Excellent except for no heat.

The Amazonia was a great if no frills hotel for those on a budget. Our room on the 8th floor had a fantastic view over the city and the river in the distance. Room had a balcony to sit out on in the sun, mini bar, satelite tv etc. The hotel is handy for the town with the metro just 5 minutes walk away, metro Rato just 10 mins or 3 stops from the centre. Great breakfast to start the day with lots of choice, but you have to pay for it on check out. If I went back to Lisbon, I would stay here again purely on price, value and easy access to the action. The hotel also has a nice bar and swimming pool for summer use.

My partner and I both found this hotel to be very friendly and very helpful at all times. We stayed on a Room only basis, the only thing was we were not offered b&b and if we wanted breakfast it was 8eorus per person, which with what you got was very expensive. So if you use this hotel go B&B it would probably be cheaper. We couldn't fault anyhting else about the hotel, the atmosphere was lovely very central to the city centre just a 5 min walk to the marques de Pombal, 10 walk to Bairo Alto. If we go back to Lisboa we will definately go back to the Amazonia Hotel.

Situation ok, rooms clean...pool is small however. Unfortunately, there are not too many places to eat nearby.

La piscine est petite mais très agréable dans cet hôtel chic et tranquille, conforme aux critères de son classement ! Il est plutôt bien situé, un peu à l'écart des sites mais proche des transports et on peut en descendre même à pied vers le centre. Attention, pour revenir le soir, ça monte !

Ett funktionabelt hotell med riktigt bra service vad gäller svar på funderingar, tips och liknande. En svalkande pool som var i minsta laget med alldeles för få solstolar. Frukosten blev man proppmätt av, men man kan äta frukost för en vrakdel av hotellpriset på någon av cafeerna i närheten. Nära tunnelbanan men relativt branta backar kommer man inte undan, oavsett linje (eller för den delen om man ska in till stan). Oerhört irriterande ljud från vad jag gissar är air condition-maskiner i närliggande rum i vårat hotellrum.

The internet was very expensive. The lighting in the room was not good, the shower and the bath tub old, the air condition did not work well, the swimming pool not clean and attractive. I only liked the electronic door key - felt very safe -, the daily cleaning and the elevator.

Sauber, bequem gestaltetes nicht überfülltes Doppelzimmer mit Wannenbad. 2 Einzelbetten, heisses Wasser, minibar, TV, Haartrockner, 2 grosse Fenster. Sehr Hell, Lage sehr Zentral (5-10 min zu Metro und Bus, zu Fuss 20min im Stadtzentrum oder 30min an der Küste/am Hafen) und trotzdem relativ ruhig (man sieht und hört die Flugzeuge die starten&landen, aber es stört fast gar nicht). Bar im Lobby, Aufzug, Shuttle service. Kleinere minuspunkte: Frühstück ist nicht inklusiv, und kostet 8e extra. Es ist aber nichts, das für den Preis lohnt - dafür kann man besser draussen essen gehen. Fenster geht nicht richtig zu, somit Zimmer ziemlich kalt, besonders nachts. Gott sei dank gab es eine Heizung, leider etwas Umweltunfreundlich, aber besser als frieren im Schlaf. Kein Mittag/Abendessen. Ansonsten ganz gutes Hotel, kein Lärm (auch nicht von den nachbarzimmern) oder sonstige Störungen. Praktisch gestaltetes, mittelgrosses Zimmer mit Bad. Prima geeignet für alle die sich die Stadt angucken oder kleinere Ausflüge machen wollen. Direkter Bus zum Flughafen von Marques De Pombal (8min zu Fuss), Linie 44 oder 83, Tagesticket kostet 3,70, einzelfahrt um die 1 euro. Wärmstens zu empfehlen! =) Gute Reise.

Utmärkt läge i Lissabon, relativt nära till gamla delarna av city och med gångavstånd till ett av de stora köpcentrumen. Taxi förhållandevis billigt varför detta alternativ utnyttjdes mycket och gjorde avstånden små.

l'albergo è un po' impersonale e gli impiegati della reception un po' "freddini", ma la camera è pulitissima (compresa la tenda della doccia!) e molto graziosa (porte del bagno e dell'armadio tutte di legno! e anche l'arredamento è piacevole e i letti e i guanciali sono comodi) e anche molto spaziosa e comoda (chi l'ha progettata ha pensato a quali sono le necessità di chi viaggia) e in bagno funziona tutto (fatto, purtroppo, molto raro!). non abbiamo provato la prima colazione perché costava troppo (8 euro a testa!) né il servizio lavanderia.
