Todos los hoteles en Upper East Side"Would not stay here again!"
Comentado por un huésped de Hotels.com el abr 2, 2009.
After checking in just before 6 p.m. and getting settled in, I went to go out and couldn't open my door - the door knob would not turn. After 6 p.m. NO ONE from the hotel is in the building - there is an emergency number but it was posted by the office and I was locked in my room! I had to call 911 and the NYC fire department came to my rescue and broke down the door. The next day I told management what happened and they said they would get the lock repaired. That night I spent about 10 minutes trying to get into my room! A few days later, there was NO hot water to shower and I was told that a new heating system was going to be put in. Unfortunately, I spent 8 nights not knowig what would happen next!!

Comentado por un huésped de Hotels.com el dic 15, 2008.
The Gracie Inn is a quaint place in a quiet Upper East Side neighborhood. The double bed was soft and enveloping; you'd better like the person you're sharing that bed with. Biggest issue was cramped quarters and aging structures. The wood floor sagged toward the middle; the marble threshold leading into the bathroom was a good inch above floor level, setting up a trip hazard that was hard to avoid; and the space the toilet was sandwiched into, between the sink and the bathroom wall, was too small for a normal set of male shoulders. But with all that, it was a charming place to stay, a mostly comfortable refuge from the cold, wet weather, and a more interesting experience than midtown hotels going for more than double the rate. I wouldn't rush to return, but I'm glad we went.

It was a great hotel. It was conviniently located near Metropolitan museum (only 15 minutes walk from the museum) in a safe neighborhood. The room was great for the price and the bath room was very clean. It could have been better if there was a on-site staff after hours or in the afternoons, but they were available in 20 minutes after we give them a call.

Considering the price, I expected clean sheets when I checked in--mine were stained, wrinkled,--clearly slept in for many days. I had to track down the maid--no one in the office--to get them changed. Likewise, bathrobes in closet clearly hadn't been washed. Someone's used snore strip stuck to the bed--breakfast a stale bagel. Next time I would stay elsewhere. I was pretty surprised after choosing the place because it was rated so highly by previous customers.

My room was on the 1st floor, behind the office. A continental breakfast was included and delivered to the room daily at a time you requested. The room was large and pleasant. Three out of the 5 nights were extremely noisy as other guests came in. Two nights were quite problematic: one time people coming in c.4:30am, followed by banging on the front door at 5am, which lasted a few minutes. The next evening a buzzer went off at c. 3:30am.

Altough we have spend a lot of time in order to chose the right hotel for our first trip to NY, The Gracie Inn cought our attention due to reasonable reviews and also because it is located outsidese time square frenzy. No documentation has been requested neither breakfast offered, despite the fact it is included. The room itself wasnot that bad, its clean and noiseless. The bed not as confy as we expected. the heating system is unefficient. We arrived in early march and altough late mornings and afternoon its very pleasant,.at night gets very cold....The heating system for the room its just not enough, unlike the bathroom where the temperature was very pleasant, so was the shower. the room is self contained and we expected to be fully self Contained. What we really found was a kitchen with no accessories for cooking and if it was available nobody told us. Our room had only one Wine Glass and our Fridge absolutely empty. We have requested to use the safe but that lovely simpathetic lady didnt know how to use....we had to wait for the manager in the following day. Amenities around are limited, and if you are staying for a short time, i recommended somewhere near time square. Using public transport its location is a long walk from 86st station. Overall we enjoyed our stay in NY at The Gracie Inn, and despite all the neagative points, the room was nicely decorated and clean. Would i come back, maybe not.....but not because these little details, but because the location.

I was very pleased. Obviously, for the price and neighborhood, I wasn't expected a grand reception hall. I got what I expected. The room, however, was nicely appointed, clean, and charming. I certainly recommend this place for an affordable getaway to NYC.

The man at the desk was friendly and helpful; he let us check in early. The room was cozy, clean, and nicely furnished. The bed was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette and bathroom were also clean, and everything worked. Even the cutlery, cork screw, and plates in the cupboard were spotless. Overall, the room felt more like an old-timey studio apartment than a hotel room. I even found a legal parking spot on the street and didn't have to pay for a parking garage. Also, being in an old building with real walls and ceilings, the room was quiet and gave us a great sense of privacy. We had two big windows that looked down on 82nd Street. With he blinds and curtains open, the room was bright and cheerful; with them closed, the room was dark even in the daytime. My only complaint is with Hotels.com. During the process of deciding where to stay, I called Hotels.com three times to ask about the Gracie. All three agents I spoke to were friendly, but the first one told me five rooms were available; a few minutes later, the second one told me no rooms were available at the Gracie. Sensing the second agent didn't know what she was doing, I called again and was told the five rooms were still available. Had I not called a third time, I would not have been able to book the room. As in everything else, getting a second or third opinion is a good idea when calling hotels.com.

Gracie Inn turned out to be a hidden gem in Upper East Side. It's great value for money, esp for parents travelling with young children as most rooms came with a separate room with single bed(s). The staff were very friendly and helpful and even upgraded us to one of the penthouse suites when we checked in. The condition of the penthouse could be improved but the view was great and had an ensuite hot-tub. Breakfast is served in the room promptly at the time requested and best of all, the bagels always arrived hot and nicely toasted. Overall, it was a great experience to stay at Gracie Inn and we look forward to our next visit to the Inn again.

Rooms aren't new, but were clean and well appointed. Antiques added charm. The kitchenette would make it great for longer stays. Flat screen TV and Wireless internet--who needs anything more than that? Bathroom tiny, but has basic amenities, including real towels, not those harsh scratchy things. Lots of hot water and good water pressure. No real concierge, pretty informal and did have a hard time getting someone on the phone (actually never did, had to do everything via e-mail). They bring you a continental breakfast in the morning, which is nice. And complimentary water bottles in the fridge.

My daughter gave birth to twins at Mount Sinai Hospital and I needed a hotel on Thanksgiving week. Hotels in midtown and Times Square were expensive. I found the Gracie Inn and didn't know what to expect but booked. The place was great. Room was a bit older but amenities and service were great. Even got breakfast delivered to room in the morning. I would stay again.

While I have to say, this hotel was in a very quiet neighborhood, my room was absolutely filthy. Dirt piled around the floor perimeter and large patches of unidentified gooey substances on the walls. The staff acted like they had never heard of someone requesting to leave luggage in the office after check-out (a common practice in other hotels), although they did agree to do so. They did provide breakfast but this was grossly over-priced for what you get.

The staff was extra nice about giving me some extra towels, and prompt with the breakfast service. My girlfriend is paranoid about dirty floors & carpets but was VERY happy with the cleanlyness of this hotel. The TV has almost every imaginable channel, and the bed was very comfortable. Great price for an awesome upper east side hotel.

The best part about the hotel in the fact that you are in the city. And in this part of the city you could relax. Not too much traffic, not too much noise and there are things to do. The rooms were nice and they were clean. Breakfast was ok but overall a good trip and hotel to relax on.
