Maldron Hotel Cardiff Lane was Quality Hotel Dublin City - Dublín

Nice hotel in a quiet location and next to Grand Canal Square which will be lovely when finished. Several restaurants in walking distance in the square and quite useful if you do not want the 15 - 20 minute walk to Temple Bar every night. Use the "Liffey Flyer" little yellow dinghy to go across to the otherside of the Liffey, great fun. Only complaint on the service of the hotel is that they did not replenish the teas and coffees in the room one day and when we phoned to ask for them, it took almost an hour to receive them.

The hotel is about ten minutes walk along the river from Temple Bar so great position. At present close to redevelopment of the docklands area but this did not affect us and there was no noticeable noise. The hotel is clean and rooms are comfortable and spacious. The staff are efficient but could be a little friendlier. Only thing missing was air conditioning in the rooms but we were there on a really sunny weekend so probably not really necessary in general.

The hotel provided good service and facilities, when the new bridge and other building work in the area are complete it will be in a very good area. By using the existing foot bridge and cutting through the old Dockland area north of the Liffey you can walk to the central bus station in a very short time. I will recommend the hotel to my friends.

Regular visitor to hotel; standards as good as ever. However, several large tour parties spoilt this trip due to disruption they caused in restaurant.

The hotel is near the central of Dublin easy access to the likes of Temple Bar. Parking was poor as there were no prior advise that this hotel does not provide parking facility and the nearest parking complex does not open 24 hours. The room was very hot as there were no air con in the room and once you open the window you can hear the worker’s machinery noise. The service was good but just been let down a bit by the points above.

The hotel itself was lovely. Staff were very nice and helpful and the rooms were very nice. The down side was that its location is not centeral as stated. It was a 25 min to o'conall st. And the hotel charge you 5euro to hire a swimming hat so that you can use the pool. We found this a little unfare as it wasnt a cheap hotel.

The hotel was in a good location with a 15 minute walk to Temple Bar and close to o2.

Used hotel for u2 in croke park. 10 minutes from o connell street. Only 40 minute walk from croker. Breakfast was good value at 10 euro. We got an early check-in at 11 am smoking room but room was fresh and airy. Hotel staff were friendly. Will recommend

A little further out of the city than we anticipated but buses were good and not too far to walk if able. A lot of development going on in the area. Will look good when finished. Good restaurants nearby in Grand Canal Square but a lack of places for breakfast if not using the hotel dining room.

it was a pleasant stay, very good and clean atmosphere, friendly staffs but room for improvement, break fast menu choice are limited especially fruites (N/A), prefer semi-skimmed milk (only full creamed milk available). As a whole very pleasant stay and I recommend to any one. I will come back again next year.

We were two relatively young (28yo) travellers circling around Europe...stayed at this new, modern hotel...very impressed with the concierges and the rest of the staff...food + drink a bit pricey but what can you expect nowadays in great hotels..room very quiet, and beds comfortable..construction around area was a drag but that shouldnt last forever...totally recommend

This hotel is near the new convention center/business area, and about 20 minutes' walk to O'Connell Street/Trinity College. Everything is excellent at this hotel except the breakfast, which included watery powdered eggs, cold sausage, and white bread one had to toast oneself--all at twice the price of a delicious Irish breakfast in most restaurants. Still, a wonderfully comfortable hotel.

The Maldron Hotel is within easy walking distance of both the O2 (about 25 mins) and into the city centre (20 mins). Staff very pleasant and happy to help. The facilities at the hotel were first class and I would book the Maldron Hotel should I be in Dublin again.

we stayed here because of its location to the O2. Its a lovely hotel. we had dinner one of the evenings in the bar in the hotel- nice food. found it a bit unusual that there was no small refridgerator in the room, but besides that the room was well kept.

The hotel is modern, located in a renovated part of town; the facilities are well-kept and generally clean but the personel is not very friendly or very professional --there are lots of room for improvement in these areas.

Hotel was comparable to a somewhat revamped Holiday Inn Express. Pretty basic hotel that has been upgraded a bit. However, room smelled of smoke as they have the same old carpets with years of abuse and cigarettes. And I was supposedly on a 'non-smoking' floor. They only have smoking floor - the 4th floor. Expect very rudimentary amenities - read: none. Comes with pump hand & shower soap, which being an environmentalist, I prefer. The gym was very decent for a hotel gym. I think they actually have gym memberships for locals. Not 5 star / SportsClub LA, but more like an old-school 24 hour fitness or Bally's. They had spin & cardio classes, but I did not partake. 15 minute walk to Trinity college & Grafton St. area. I chose the place due to proximity of my office (in Dublin for business), so I didn't mind. However, if I were staying for vacation, I would not stay here. It IS close to the Grand Canal area which they are renovating, so it was nice to have some shops, restaurants & cafes nearby.

Nice hotel in developing docklands area of Dublin. Set by Liffey and 15mins flat walk to o'connel st and trinity college. Taxi cost E6 to centre from outside hotel and E1 per passenger s more than 1. Hotel breakfast good value at E10 with voucher for buffet. Rooms bright and comfortable and staff helpful.

Clean modern hotel, excellent customer service. Friendly, helpful staff. Only down side is the walk to city centre as there is a fair bit of redevelopment underway but once finished it should be really nice area. Went with my daughter for her 30th birthday and had a great time. Felt very safe and welcomed, very tourist friendly in Dublin.

We stayed at the Maldron Hotel for 4 nights during our trip to Ireland. The hotel is very modern and nice. The rooms are large and clean and the front desk staff was helpful. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the main areas of Dublin. For two young people, this wasn't a problem, but for those who don't like to walk far distances, you may want to consider staying elsewhere. However, I did a lot of research prior to our trip and found that this was the nicest hotel for the price.

Nice hotel with a great workout facility at a great price. It was, however, a bit out of the way for someone trying to see the sights of Dublin. Nevertheless, I would stay there again and continue to deal with the extra mile of walking.

Hotel is clean modern and has all the advertised facilities including well equiped gym and pool area. Thats the good part if your stay is buisness related this place is good however if your stay is for leisure think of somewhere more central. This hotel has few places to eat or drink locally and is a long walk from town or public transport. On our visit the weather was awful (fully accept this was neither Dublins or the hotels fault) which resulted in us dining and drinking in the hotel far more than one would like. The food was good however for the prices it really should be and the bar although nice was really expensive. If you have not got very very deep pockets think twice about staying here as any money saved taking advantage room offers or cheap flights is quickly absorbed on taxis or hotel restaurant / bar prices.

Stayed in the Hotel for 4 nights. The staff were lovely very helpful and friendly. My room was fabulous with a balcony. The Hotel Bar has a lovely decore and staff are lovely and the food is lovely. The restaurant had amazing food but it is pricy. I even used the gym which has brilliant staff and the facilities were great. Overall i would really recomend this hotel you couldn't get better.

First of all the slight down side of our stay (apart from the exchange rate) was the major building work next to the hotel, but don’t let this put you off please read on. As I say there is a major development taking place around this area but this did not affect the quality of our stay even though we where oh the fifth floor directly facing the development we could not hear any noise. As this visit was a wedding anniversary surprise for my wife I arranged to have Champaign, strawberries and a red rose waiting in the room on our arrival (for a very reasonable extra charge), this was arranged over the phone from the UK very easily with the hotel back office staff and they were fantastic nothing was to much trouble. Walking distances quoted by other reviewers are correct (about 20 minutes to Temple Bar area). The hotel has a very nice pool area, which includes a gym, sauna and Jacuzzi, you will need a swim hat for the pool. The buffet breakfast is a must and will keep you going all day, just one point if the hotel Management are reading this review CHANGE THE TOAST MAKING MACHINES it takes 5 attempts and 5 minutes to get a lightly coloured piece of toast. To summarise a perfect choice and we will be returning.

Stayed 1 night at this hotel as we were going to a concert in the 02 in Dublin.It was a walking distance away the only problem we had with the hotel is that we were up at 10am to get breakfast and the man behind the bar said we couldnt get any!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Other than that it was perfect....

Very comfy hotel, loved the leisure facilities. The breakfast wasn't great though for the price- hardly any veggie options for a cooked breakfast (had to request one and it was very greasy and over cooked- they'd stopped doing hash browns too!).

This hotel is quite modern and is situated about 15-20 minutes walking from the center of Dublin. Although the rooms were very clean and well maintained, I must say I found the hotel somewhat expensive (no breakfast included, quite small rooms, no toiletries apart from liquid soap and shampoo, and not exactly in the center). We had a pleasant time there, but I would not return as I dont believe it offers good value for money.

We stayed two nights at the Maldron Hotel anr thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.Could not fault this hotel and will definately be returning.

Ideally located if you don't mind a 15 - 20 minute walk into main area, appeared to be a safe area to walk. Outside the hotel lot of new developments but no noise to be heard and would not be put off by this. Hotel bar bit pricey but in keeping with the rest of Dublin. Had Sky TV and light snacks. Pub on corner, handy bit cheaper and a bit more 'irish'. Would return to this hotel.

Hotel in good location for the O2 arena. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Food excellent.

Although maybe not the easiest place to find initially its a lovely hotel. Couldn't question the room and the bed was very comfortable. Definately would stay their again. (Don't forget - Dublin is ultra expensive!!!!!!)

I came origanally for a concert in the O2 which was a nice walk away, not long at all. We were not right in the centre but just a couple of side streets away from O'connell bridge, and therefore pretty much everthing! Which i thought was perfect. I have no complaints at all, infact I am planning a return trip and would definately choose this hotel again!

Great hotel and really good food - we tried the room service and breakfast and both were superb. Only down sides were a problem with the hot water, which lasted about 90 mins and a slightly cold room at certain times of the day.

Was impressed with the hotel. Stay was very comfortable. Quiet side of the city with a bit of a walk into Trinity.Room was very comfortable with a balcony. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We would definately use this hotel again.

Service was very poor, room was very noisy. Staff and management did not seem interested in customer service.

Our stay was so relaxing, loved the room which was spotless, staff were very helpfull, leisure center was so relaxing, hotel location was great quite during the night and walking distance to city center

The appeal to stay there was that it is down as the nearest hotel to the point. It is not. Its a good 20-25minute walk. The hotel itself was nice. Very cheap. Room was bigger than expected. Although I asked for a no smoking room, the room given was a smoking room. The room service took over an hour and the order was wrong as they ran out of certain items of food. The workers there were very friendly. Overall - even though there were issues, the hotel is cheap and cheerful.

The pool, sauna, jacuzzi, and steam room are in great condition and excellent to relax a bit before going out for dinner in one of Dublin's great restaurants. It was a biit of a shame that currently construction is going on across the road, but plenty of rooms go to the other side. The area is currently under development and will be lovely once finished. The walk into town along the river Liffey is very enjoyable.

staff not clear with tourist directions. we found easir ways to get to places quicker.it is about 20 min walk from oconnoll street. you can get a 74 bus direct to hotel from there. its recommended to buy the rambler buss pass. we got a three day one and it was well used. you also need a swimming cap to use the pool--this is two euros fifty. there is vending machines on all floors, but when checking in you need to leave credit card details before you can use this. it sells everything from plasters to guinness. over all it is a lovoely hotel.i would go back.

Hotel was lovely, about a 10 minute walk along the river to the centre of Dublin. It had great leisure facililites and was in a nice quiet location.

The hotel is very nice. the rooms are nice and the general layout is very good. the hotel bar is excellent, and probably the cheapest place we actually drank at! pint of guinness for under 5 euros is rare in dublin! didnt get chance to check out the pool and gym sadly. the food was very good also, with big portions. location was ok. not too far from the city centre, and a nice enough walk along the river. overall a very good hotel and worth a visit.

This hotel is a reasonable 10mins walk away from O'connell st/grafton. However I would not stay at this hotel again, the hotel rooms are exceptionally noisy, (not just from the construction surrounding the hotel), it appears that the walls are not sufficiently soundproofed, as the sounds of people walking down the hallway are enough to wake even the most worn out tourist. There is no safe and also no fridge for keeping any personal drinks in. The hotel is well decorated and clean but probably not worth the money we paid.

The Hotel was comfortable and clean but it lacked little touches like no compl shower caps i would have expected this at va 4* hotel

The hotel was fine, the food was ok and the rooms were fine. Didnt spend too much time in hotel as we went for New Year but all the facilities were good including the Pool Gym etc. Cost of food and drink in the hotel was crazy but so was all of Dublin.

Hotel was good value for money, rooms were clean and comfortable. Location is good if you like walking about 15 minutes from O'Connell Street.
