Hotel Ambassador Weber - Capri

We loved the location of the hotel - near the marina piccola and just a short walk down to the gorgeous beach. However, the staff was not at all helpful. The concierge would not provide information about other local restaurants but instead kept asking if we had heard that they have their own restaurant located in the town. After we asked several times, they finally gave us some vague and unhelpful information about another restaurant, but they were annoyed about it. We asked another concierge about how to rent a boat around the island, and he also could not give any helpful information except to discourage us from doing the activity at all. It turned out that it was the best thing we did in Capri. From the Marina Piccola, we found "Luigi" who is a captain of a small motorboat, and he took us on the most unbelievable 2 and a half hour tour of the whole island. We got out and went swimming in several coves, and it was just lovely. Raves for Luigi and his boat, but the only reason to stay at the Ambassador Weber is the location. If we go again, I'll look for another hotel nearby.

The positive things I have experienced were: - Very nice room view - Good hotel location - A Clean room The negatives: -I didnt like the room service banging on my door at unsuitable times..I certainly prefer room service request tags to be hung on the outside of the door.

Our last night in Italy was spent sipping wine from our balcony at dusk watching the magically illuminated cruise ships sail off into the horizon one by one...truly one of the most beautiful sunsets we've ever witnessed. You will love this hotel. From the complimentary champagne at check-in to the expansive breakfast before check-out...you will not be disappointed. Except from the fact that you must eventually leave.

Definitely recommend the water view - Beautiful

This was a nice hotel in a nice area with a really nice staff. It is very close to a beach and has a shuttle bus service that will take you into town and back that leaves about every 10 minutes. The only complaint is the paper thin walls. We could hear everything that was going on in the rooms next to us and above us. Overall, a nice hotel at a good price for Capri.

The towels are very old and not soft at all!! Need to get some new towels.

First, the positives: -Great location, beautiful view -Very friendly and helpful staff Now for the negatives: -Hotel shuttle from the marina (where you come in from Naples/Sorrento/etc) is NOT free (3 Euros each way per person) -Unheated pool with debris floating in it -No television signal whatsoever in the room -Broken shower head adjustment in the bathroom -Breakfast is also NOT free, and the quality of the food is abysmal. Please, GO OUT for breakfast. :) Overall, this is really a 3-star hotel with a 4-star view, and I would only recommend the hotel for this reason.

Hotel Ambassador Weber offers one of the most scenic views on the beautiful island of Capri. The shuttle service arrived promptly and we never had to wait more 10 minutes for a ride to or from town. One of the two drivers thought he was a Formula 1 race car driver. The food was satisfactory, but not as good as the local restaurants. The staff were courteous and very helpful. We would not hestitate to go there again.

there were an extra charge for the free shuttle service and breakfast.

We had a great time and we were very pleased with the service. We paid extra when we got there to upgrade to a room with balcony overlooking the water. It was worth every penny of it.

We had a great stay here. The hotel is very nice and everyone was exceptional helpful. My one complaint is that there are a lot of little charges. The hotel isn't in the main area of the island which is fine because they provide a free shuttle. But when you arrive you will pay $3.50 per person for a pickup at the port and transfer to the hotel. We went to breakfast not realizing it was an extra charge there were no signs at the buffet and no one mentioned to us that we would have to pay extra for it. Same thing happened when I asked to use the internet. They gave me the information about the wireless w/ no mention that it cost extra. Honestly i really liked the hotel and would stay here again but would skip breakfast and using the internet.

We enjoyed staying here, it has an amazing view of the Sea. They do provide a shuttle to and from town which is very convienient. The pool was just OK-got a lot of shade from cliffs, not a lot of sun, but there is a beach (free) very close by, but it's VERY rocky! Nice Staff, Good Food, Beautiful Capri!!

Our stay at the Ambassador Weber was fantastic. I upgraded to an ocean view room. This was totally worth the price. Our room had doors which opened up to a deck overlooking the ocean. Absolutely beautiful. The staff is very friendly, and the hotel is well maintained and beautifully situated on the hillside. The one and only issue we had was during our last night on Capri. After a romantic dinner on our deck, we laid down with the doors to our room open so we could listen to the ocean. A mouse decided to join us in our room. My wife freaked out, and I attempted to jettison the mouse outside. After a call to the front-desk, 3 staff members came up to our room and pushed our little friend out the door. Because the hotel was full, they immediately sent the cleaning staff up to take care of the mess our friend had left us. Again, the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or honeymoon!

Incredible service was the cherry on top for this wonderful hotel. All of the staff went above and beyond the call multiple times. One staff member tracked down the manager of a currency exchange who had shorted our daughter by a substantial amount. It was a mistake that was quickly corrected. Restaraunt personnell stayed late to feed us with a very gracious attitiude. The location had the most beautiful view, and we liked being out of the crowds for our hotle time. When we wanted shopping, corwds, restaurants, etc. they were very happy and prompt to take us to Capri City by hotel van many times. The rooms were comfortable & spacious by European standards. We loved it & will return.

The Hotel Ambassador Weber was outstanding - our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The views were spectacular, and, had we had better weather, I'm sure we would have spent a good deal of time on our large balcony. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate, which meant most of our activities centered around shopping and eating. That highlighted the only drawback to this hotel, and that is that it is on the other side of the action. The hotel does provide shuttle service to and from Capri town free of charge, but charges to take you to the main marina area.

Great shuttle service to town and back. Breakfast is not included in the price, but overall excellent hotel with amazing views and a small beach. Tough to beat in Capri.

This hotel is beautiful! We had the seaview room and it was definitely worth the extra money. Fabulous view of the sea from our bed! Antonio, the concierge, took wonderful care of us and Rafaella (also at the desk) was wonderful also. There is a beach below the hotel; be prepared for a fairly strenuous walk back up though. However, this appears to be the case all over the island as the entire place is on a mountain-side overlooking the sea.

Excellent room with very friendly staff. Decent morning breakfast, comfortable rooms, bathrooms as advertised (nice shower, cleaned daily, etc) I would definitely recommend this hotel. When I return to Capri, I will be looking to stay here again.

Capri is very crouded during the day! Call ahead for the hotel shuttle or take a taxi straight to hotel. Stay and enjoy the hotel during the day and the town in the early evening. We had 3 rooms right along the path where people would walk up into the hotel, loved it. The restaurant menu is limited but, everything we ordered was good. We tried to extend our stay but the hotel was booked so reserve early. There is no sand beach, but do go down and get in the water, you have come too far not to!

Had a room overlooking the sea (an amazing view..!), a walk to the best beach (of about 3 minutes) a free and excellent shuttle service to the town centre, (takes you there from 8am to 2am in the morning ! )The location of this hotel was fantastic. If you like to be near a beach - I don't see how the A.W. could be beaten !

I stayed two nights on the island. The hotel has a spectacular view and was very nice. The shuttle service to the town centre was very convenient. I was unaware they pick you up at the port when you arrive, for a small fee, much cheaper than a taxi. Just a short walk to the beach down below. Friendly staff. My "mountain view" was a view of a wall two feet from my window.

Hotel Shuttle service to and from town of Capri very helpful. Room needs improvement-hard bed & pillow, black mold in corner of ceiling, tight bathroom setup. Breakfast was good but not included. Extra cost for use of in-room safe. Hotel staff very helpful in setting up boat excursion around island on short notice. Rocky beach--bring water shoes--other than that a lovely quiet, tranquil location.

We just got back from our trip to Italy and I highly recommend staying at the Ambassador Weber if you are traveling to Capri. The hotel was clean, located right near the beach, had a shuttle service into town and to/from the marina, and best of all romantic.

Great hotel with beautiful view and in great location on the Island. Marina Piccola is nice and less busy then the Marina Grande. Hotel provided excellent shuttle service to the town center and Marina Grande. Hotel only serves breakfast and lunch which is a bit pricey. Overall very good hotel.

The Hotel Weber was amazing. The staff was incredibly friendly and always available at an instant. The breakfast on our patio was fabulous for the ease and comfort and view. The shuttle service into town is extremely convenient. We absolutely loved it and would recommend it highly. Its a small island so if you get stir crazy or are in need of a highly technological surrounding Capri is probably not for you. But if you want relaxation and gorgeous nature and friendly people and of course good food - this is the place. We reccomend ordering Gnocchis alla Sorrentina - delicious!

personale raramente cordiale, spesso brusco. Ottimo il servizio navetta per il centro, meno quello per il porto a pagamento (forse meglio un taxi). Ristorante interno scadente, meglio il ristorante convenzionato in centro paese. Le camere non-vista mare sono proprio vista muro. Biancheria da letto mai cambiata in 1 settimana di soggiorno.

hotel caratteristico in posizione tranquilla e panoramica, spiaggia libera a 5 minuti a piedi, piscina piccola; lontano dal centro ma navetta gratuita che porta alla famosa piazzetta (ma ci siamo stati a giugno, a luglio agosto fastidiosa). assolutam da prendere camera con vista mare altrimenti non ne vale la pena.

Vær obs på rom 702 og 703 som ligger under vaskeriet. Mye støy - ubrukelig. Vi fikk nytt rom etter én natt, og dette var helt supert :-) Ellers har de bringe/hente tjeneste (gratis) mellom hotellet og Capri by som vi benyttet daglig.

L'hotel è situato in una posizione splendida nonostante non sia nel centro di capri. I servizi offerti sono ottimi tra cui una navetta che porta al centro di capri gratuitamente ogni 10 minuti dal mattino fino alle 3 di notte. In ogni caso la distanza hotel-piazzetta è percorribile a piedi in 10 minuti ( di ritorno dalla piazzetta all'hotel perchè è in discesa!!! All'andata è un po' più faticoso perchè è tutto in salita: meglio la navetta!!). Se si usufruisce della colazione o di un pranzo veloce in hotel la qualità del cibo non è niente male ed i prezzi sono onestissimi (per essere a capri). L'hotel è molto silenzioso, le stanze sono pulite e comode e il personale è gentilissimo (ci hanno portato la colazione in camera anche fuori orario senza addebitarci nessun supplemento e hanno pulito la stanza dopo le 14.00, aspettandoci...) Dopo aver visto altri hotel a capri, i prezzi e le posizioni di tutti, alla fine tornerei in questo
