Luna Alpinus - Albufeira

Firstly the positives. Fantastic restaurant and bar staff, absolutely fantastic . Lovely big Clean quiet rooms with British TV stations. 2 Seperate pools (although the photos are deceptive on size) Reasonably priced restaurant with ok food. Cheap bar. Now the not so positives - The reception staff need to be retrained, when asked if there was anywhere to eat nearby we were told no. In truth there are may restaurants a short walk from the hotel. Also we were at a wedding and ordered a taxi to get us, the receptionist advised the journey time at 40 mins (which left us cursing the groom who reccomended this hotel as being quite near) in fact it was only 10 minutes away and we had an unplanned drink before the wedding which was nice, but more time to get ready would have been better. The hotel pool is beside a road which makes it ffeel a little cheap and not the relaxing paradice that you would expect when booking a sun holiday. We only stayed a wkend, if we were staying for a week I would be very dissapointed. Would not stay here again.

The Luna Alpinus hotel was an excellent place to stay (although my review may be slightly biased by the fact we got a free room upgrade by mistake!). The apartments were big and well equipped, the pools and loungers were plentiful and in good condition, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet had an excellent selection. Perhaps the only criticisms I could think of would be that the dinner buffet wasn't inspiring enough to convince us to eat at the hotel and the pool was quite cold. Other than that, it was a truly delightful hotel. In terms of location, I would say this hotel was perfect for families or young couples (like us) but would perhaps be less suitable for groups of young people looking to experience the nightlife of Albufeira. Whilst the transport links by the hotel are excellent, the last bus from Albufeira is around 18.00 making it diffcult to spend the evening there without paying for a taxi. For those looking for a relaxing holiday however, there are lots of nice bars and restaurants around the location, nice places to go for walks and a lovely beach just 15-20 minutes walk away. All in all I found my stay here to be very enjoyable and very good for the money we spent. We would definitely return again.

you are better with a car at this hotel as there is not much night life for young people and they were always going in taxis to albufeira but perfect for us oldies beautiful beach nice pools.

My fiance and I loved our 1 week stay at the Alpinus. We were in desparate need of a relaxing holiday and chose this hotel because it was not in the main town area of Albufeira. We were not too interested in the pool area but it looked ok. We walked to the beach every day. It's about a 20 minute stroll with some shops on the way (where we had dinner on the way back some nights), which we found no problem at all. We are are late twenties with a moderate level of fitness. However, a bus service was available. There is a good selection of modest restaurants in the area and we tried a different one every night. Our room was spotless and huge. facilities at the hotel were good and you can organise plenty of day trips with them. We only used them for a game of golf in Vaillamoura - which i would definitely recommend. We would love to stay at the Alpinus again!

Clean spacious rooms with good facilities. Enjoyed the free entertainment (not highbrow but fun nonetheless). Not many minuses (grass around pool a bit soggy comes to mind). Area around hotel is fairly quiet-restaurants halfway to beach are v good and have a local feel.

Hotellet var bra til en rimelig pris. Vi hadde en leilighet på bakkenivå ved bassenget som gjorde at vi hadde kontroll på barna fra verandaen. Store og små trivdes veldig godt.
