I anticiapated this hotel to be nicer than what it is. The hotel lobby is nice but rooms are small and old, it gave me the impression that it used to be a motel before. As far as location, it's great, 5 minutes aways from airport and 4 pounds to and from. Overall OK hotel.

I was very happy with the room and the hotel itself. I would have appreciated to see the internet / wifii charges as most places now its free or they charge next to nothing which in your case £5/£6 an hour or £15 a day is very expensive.

Great room. Good plumbing and water pressure. Clean. The transit to/from Heathrow to central London is actually pretty convenient and simple -- as long as you're not on the Picadilly Line during one of the seasonal construction delays or signal failures. BUT... long-story-short -- for the money -- a LOT more hotel than you'd find closer-in. I like sitting on the tube catching up with my paper / my maps / whatever -- so -- the transit time was actually pretty calming. And -- did I say, "CLOSE to the AIRPORT?" ... piece o' cake. Made the whole arrangement WORTH IT.

We booked the Renaissance for a one-night layover at Heathrow while enroute from Oslo to LA, looking for a comfortable room, convient to the airport. We had a spacious room with a very comfortable king-size bed and a view of the airfield. Despite being right next to the runways, the room was very quiet. For an additional charge we had use of the Club Lounge, with snacks and drinks, and internet access, plus an extensive English breakfast. There is an excellent English pub, just a block away as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

While I have stayed at the Renaissance Heathrow Airport on a number of occasions I look forward to spending a night there before a flight - for me it is perfect - very comfortable and efficient - every stay has been excellent.

Excellent choice for staying close to the airport. Very clean and comfortable room.

This was a pleasant oasis in an otherwise expensive city and frenetic airport. The hotel is ideally suited for Heathrow terminals 1-2-3, and fine for 5. For terminal 4, which from what I can tell is in "no man's land," it has acceptable access. The one gripe I have with the front desk is that the advice on how to get to Terminal 4 was never the same: some said do the Hoppa, but others said use the free loop bus system. The morning clerk said jump on the bus going to the Heathrow main terminal, then get a bus going out to Terminal 4 (which turned out to be bus 55, running only every 30 minutes). After making my way to the main bus terminal and waiting 30 minutes at the main bus terminal before boarding Bus 55 for Terminal 4, Bus 55 proceeded back around to where I had caught the first bus 40 minutes earlier (right outside of the hotel), stopping to pick up other Renaissance passengers, then on to Terminal 4 in about 15 minutes. THE FRONT DESK CLERK DIDN'T KNOW THIS??

I enjoyed the hotel, only thing I missed, there was no way to go outside walking distance, to find a nice restaurant, if you wanted to eat at a different place then your own hotel. I always complain about the price what most nice hotels charge for internet, this was true here also.

I was very happy with my stay. Just one night while in transit, but the hotel was very comfortable and clean. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, so finding food at someplace other than the hotel restaurant or room service will prove difficult. Room service was good quality though. Convenient to get to via the Hotel Hoppa, which runs every 20 minutes from Heathrow terminal 5. The cost of the bus is 4 pounds per person, each way, cash only.....so stom at the ATM before you head out to catch the bus because you will not be able to pay with a credit card. Overall very convenient, good value.

The hotel can be seen easily, but if driving it is hard to get to it. The hotel itself is lovely. Food a bit expensive.

I asked for a quiet room ... so they placed me opposite the frequent visitor lounge. The door was slamming late into the night and early in the morning. Only because I went to bed late and rose early was it tollerable. I would try again to see if a fluke as the staff was wonderful otherwise.

When we arrived at the hotel the staff seemed to be willing to go the extra mile to make you comfortable and assist you in any way. The room was very nice, large, and have an OK view (of the airport). The food was great and the service was above average for a finer hotel.

The Hoppa Bus was very convenient for coming and going from Terminal 5. I definitely will stay there again.

Wonderful Hotel would recommend it and would come back again.

Great location, easy access from all airport terminals. From the outside the hotel looks a little old, however on entering the front door its worlds apart. The reception area is spacious, with plenty of seating and activities to do, the staff are excellent, courteous and helpful. Its easy walking distance to local hostelrys if you want to get out and about, however there is a nice bar and restaurant with a wide menu variety inside the hotel if you want to just chill out. The rooms are a decent size and extremely comfortable.

close to Heathrow, clean, really comfortable bed and great staff. room a bit small by american standards but modern, quiet and acceptable. buses from heathrow frequent and free (bath rd and nene stop) and you can catch the underground or trains from the heathrow central bus station with your passes or oyster card.

Note that all airport hotels require you to pay for the bus to the hotel. We stayed at the airport on the last night so we wouldn't be put out getting to the airport. As it turns out if you already have a tube pass you can get to the airport cheaper from downtown than by staying at an airport hotel. Needless to say it is much more entertaining downtown.

Bar/casual area abit stark but service was prompt and food reasonable. Very convenient to airport and easy access with the Hoppa Bus service. Check in/out abit slow

on a short stop over the hotel is in the right spot for the right price, I paid a bit more for the club level, however as it was a saturday, there was no food service. I did not know this or I would not have upgraded. the club had soft drinks and a great view of the airport, but for the price difference, it was not worth it. the personel at the hotel were very friendly and accomidating.

Wonderful Hotel. Only thing that would of helped would of been a Shuttle to and from Airport.

This is about the 10th time we have stayed in this hotel. We have tried others around London Heathrow Airport but this seems to be the best overall. Also, for 25 pounds, they let you check in as early as you want (we arrived at 7:00 am). So to have the luxury of a shower and bath within the hour of an overnight flight, was great. Also, the transportation to both Terminals 3 or 5 are very convenient with the Hotel Hoppa bus. The rooms are very clean and quiet. We also like their business center. Very easy to use. They have 6 computers you can use. Yes, for the price, location and convenience, it's perfect.

I only had to stay one night on a layover. Very nice hotel, great service. I checked one large luggage at the airport for 6.50 pounds for one night. Right outside the door from the left luggage there is a free public bus that will take you across the sreet from the hotel. Bus number 423. The same bus number and bus stop heading back to Heathrow is right out front of the hotel to the right.

I got a great price that was actually about a third (that's right, a third) of what I would have paid if I had just booked in th ehotel lobby. Wow!

Great staff, large room, good restaurant.

Pleasant and comfortable, excellent noise isolation from runways. Food quality - OK, nothing to write home about. Very expensive extras (all prices in GBP) - 17/15 for English/Continental breakfast, 25 for buffet dinner and 17-20 for main course only, 15/day internet, 4 for the Hoppa bus. No safe in room. Gym under rennovation, the temp room is unpleasant and under-ventilated. Limited free-movie TV channels because they want you to use pay-TV. Internet service was down one morning and the hotel did not reimburse for the damage to my work.

While the Renaissance is a good hotel and very convenient to Heathrow, we had a problem with booking again on our return trip. We called and made a reservation for one night. Within a few minutes, a member of our family called and said he would pick us up that night and take us into London. We called the Renaissance four times, were put on hold, cut off, and finally, tried to cancel the reservation. The service desk said we had a confirmed reservation (it had only been 15 minutes since booking, and no one told us it was a "confirmed" reservation)and said they would charge us anyway. We said we would not pay and finally got onto a supervisor who said she would cancel the reservation without penalty - after a good deal of argument. This is unacceptable, and we would not stay there again.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff very obliging. We were only there overnight but it was a good stay. FM

If you need to stay close to the airport this hotel is probably one of the best in the area. It was my second time there but the problem was this time I had to spend 3 nights. I say problem because not having a car and any nearby place to eat I had no choice but to spend a lot of money for meals at this hotel. That's probably why they keep the nightly rates low because they get it out from you anyways. I have never seen the food being this expensive in any of the hotels I have stayed both in US and UK. I found it quite unreasonable for a breakfast buffet to be 17 pounds (roughly $34) and a dinner buffet ($25 pounds, $50). Even if you do not eat from the buffet there is nothing that you can eat that would cost you any less than $15-18 pounds. So overally great hotel and perfect rooms but the money you pay does not justify the service they offer. Plus the internet is not free so for us business travelers this is yet another hotel that rips you off every way they can.

While the exterior gave me the impression of one of those old, cheesy airport hotels, once inside the front door... holy smokes! This place is deluxe, to say the least. The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet. Lots of different languages on the TV, so something to entertain in seemingly any language was available. The staff was VERY friendly.

While the concierge was trying to be helpful, he was very difficult to understand. I think good command of the English language is very important for a concierge at a hotel in London. Otherwise, we were very pleased although we had a bit of difficulty with a staff member at the reception desk understanding our questions about flight info. It was not a serious infraction, though.

The hotel - lobby, restaurant and rooms, were kept very cold - and the only response was to provide me with a space heater.

free bus to get from airport, if you use local buses, staff were helpful, hotel room was of a high standard and clean. Unfortunately some facilities were shut during our stay, food in hotel was OK. Would stay again.

15 minute ride by Hoppa bus from Heathrow. Spacious hotel, very comfortable rooms. You can see the runways from rooms on one side of the hotel. You can't hear the planes though - thought that was very cool. The lobby area is spacious and is a great hangout with a bar and restaurant.
