We loved staying here. Walked into the room and wondered if they'd made a mistake - fruit, flowers and champagne - even though we hadn't requested or paid for them. We stayed in room 602 which is a comfort room and even though there are two better categories of room we thought it was fabulous. We had our own private terrace with sun loungers, table and chairs, with a bit of a view of the swimming pool (the trees were very dense) through the lemon trees surrounding it. Breakfast was excellent and everything was pretty and well kept. Only downside was the shower - the flow was a bit on the paltry side - but the rest was so wonderful it was easy to overlook.

Sorrento is a wonderful and cute town, it is also an outstanding location for tourists. The hotel was an excellent for us, it was friendly and compassionate. The front desk worker, Luigi, was outstanding. He made us feel like we mattered to him, rather than being strangers who just passed through his working area. The entire hotel staff were like that. Additionally, the location of this hotel is amazing. It's right down town and so easy to get to. When we wanted to get out of the tourist area, the hotel arranged for restaurants who provided a shuttle service! It was truly fantastic. I would strongly suggest this hotel for anyone from couples to families! It was wonderful.

This hotel came recommended and the positive rating was validated during my short stay. The second floor room was nicely furnished and opened onto a large (shared) terrace. Breakfast was great, the garden was beautiful, if small (the pool was not yet open), and the staff was friendly. It was strange for a clerk to be in my room to acquire the spare bedspread for another room, but I wasn't planning to use it. Overall, a good place to stay - ten minutes to walk up the hill to the Sorrento Hilton where my conference was located - and good for strolling the city at night. La Lanterna was a great restaurant.

We found the hotel to have an ideal location close to the main square and amenities and also close to the train and rail station. We couldn't believe the room when we opened the door - extremely spacious, well appointed to a high standard, huge bed, better than usual bathroom, effective and quiet air conditioning - plus a chilled bottle of bubbly on arrival. The room was extremely clean and that's the way it stayed - with twice daily maid service. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of options - and that included where you wanted to sit - inside or outside - and both are comfortable. It is a family run hotel and key family members were always present on reception - nothing was too much trouble. I guess dealing with countless tourists can be wearing but it never showed - service was always provided with a smile. The hotel staff were always helpful with good tips on where to go, how to get there and where to eat.

Highly recommend to everyone to enjoy proximity to Sorrento city centre in calm high quality environment.

We were very happy with our stay from the great condition of the room, pool and grounds. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful especially the wait staff at the great buffet style breakfast. It is a small hotel with all you need for a visit to this part of Italy. It is located one short block away from the main plaza in Sorrento, very walkable to the train and buses (4 blocks). It is a bit pricey but we felt it was worth every penny especially having stayed at less expensive places on our trip and never got great quality. It definetly meets US standards for quality.

Perfect location. Upscale hotel with wonderful breakfast and breakfast room with view. Our room only had courtyard view, but this did not matter. The location was one block from the Tasso Piazza and everything else. Great place for price.

We chose this hotel based on comments from other travelers. The hotel did not disappoint. It's location is perfect--5 minute walk to train station, right off the Piazza Tasso. The grounds are lovely, our room beautiful, the staff very helpful, the breakfast excellent! Would return again in a heartbeat! Rita and Tom, Connecticut

The hotel staff were great but the rooms were not. They had ants in both rooms, in the beds and they bite. It was very clean but very noisy.

The Hotel Antiche Mura is a great place to stay in Sorrento. We stayed for seven days in Feb 2007 and used the hotel as our base location to visit Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Naples and Pompeii. The hotel is a short walk off the main Tasso Square. Public transportation is very convienent. We had a car but never took it out of the garage. We had a Comfort Room and it was top rate. Lot's of room and a private balcony. Breakfast was the best we ever had in Europe. A fantastic "sweets" table, plus fresh fruit and American scrabbled eggs and bacan. Several really good restaurants nearby.

Antiche Mura is ideaal gelegen in het hart van bruisend Sorrento. Prima, klassieke kamers, sfeervol rustig zwembad onder de citroenbomen. Helaas geen uitzicht op zee en de Vesuvius. Ongeschikt voor kinderen.
