Industrial park area not near anything else. Hotel needs improvement and room and bath were older and dirty. Not near any point of interest. Free parking is the best I can say about it.

This is not a hotel. This is a 1950's camp in an industrial estate with a trucker's car park in the back yard. I had pre-booked it for 2 nights but couldn't face staying there a second night and had to book alternative accomodation. I have rated this 1 because there is no 0 or minus box.

We had read reviews so were not surprised by the small size of the room. The room served its purpose. The hotel was convenient to the main road with easy access to Caen and the Normandy Beaches. Our intention was not to spend a lot of time in a hotel room. Staff were helpful with directions and we did not feel unsafe.

We stayed at this hotel only for 1 night as we were passing through the area on our way to the beaches of Normandy. The location is great, which is why we chose it. For one night it was bearable, especially for the price. If you are the kind of person that is willing to bear anything to save a buck or two, then this hotel will work for you. However, for stay greater than a night or two, I would spend the extra 10-20 Euro for another hotel, it would be worth the extra money.

Yes it is a tight fit, but with all there is to do in Normandy, who spends the time in a hotel? I would recommend it to the penny pincher travelers but not to the classy voyagers. But being the type who lookds for the cheaps deals out there; I wouldn't mind using the same hotel again.

The hotel was hard to find, especially since we don't speak the language. However, the desk clerk was very helpful once we found the place. He directed us to the sights we wanted to see & did his best to give us good information. Perhaps you could include a detailed map for future reference.

When i first approached the Bonsai hotel from Caen it was clearly signposted from junction fifteen of the peripheral road. However as we were later to learn getting into it is extremely complicated and i recommend a sat nav. The hotel is to all intents and purposes located on an industrial estate. It is not a hotel for the traveller who likes pampering and luxury. There is a lorry park located to the rear and lorries use the area to park at night. However noise is at a minimum and you do get a good nights sleep. The rooms are well insulated. Security is good, reception efficient. Breakfast at five euros is basic and not worth the money. The rooms are functional with a fair amount of room and cleanliness is good with regular cleaning. First impressions are not good and i would not recommend the hotel for a long stay. For value for money it is excellent and very well situated for access to all the major roads. You will definately need a car for this hotel. If you want a basic, cheap, functional base in which to explore the area then this is the hotel for you. If you want a nice view, evening meal, gym and swimming pool forget it. Our purpose was to visit the D-Day Normandy beaches over five days/four nights and for that it fulfilled its purpose. Would i stay again? Yes. Overall rating out of ten..........seven

The rooms were comfortable but is a truck stop motel so I would not recommend this hotel to families.

A very basic, but clean hotel. We used it as an over nighter on a long trip, it was fine for one night but wouldn't want to spend a whole holiday there. Not the easiest place to find once off the motorway, and no where to eat locally after about 8pm. So arrive early or eat before you get there!

Room was small but cozy. For the small price we paid (Between stays at hostels across Europe), we were very impressed by the quality. Breakfast (?5) was well worth it, as well. Note - this hotel is not very accessible from the train station, connecting buses do not run very much at all. Directly off the motorway for car travelers, though.

It was clean and they have free parking but these are about the only real positives. There were no major problems its just a very old hotel that is a bit out of the way.

nous sommes allés a l'hotel pour nous detendre apres une dure journée et il ni avait pas de bruit, nous etions tranquilles. les seuls points negatifs sont que nous avons retrouvé des cheveux et des poils pubiens en retirant les draps (c'est toujours la premiere chose que je fais en arrivant dans un hotel) et le parking n'avait pas une assez grande capacité d'accueil. Si je peux donner un conseil a l'hotel ca serait de dessiner des places de parking car les gens se garent nimporte comment et ca fait perdre enormément de place

Matelas pourris !! Deco a l'ancienne ! Femme de ménage qui frappe a la porte pour savoir s'il y a quelqu'un alors QUE L'ON DORT !!!! Petit déjeuner pas terrible !! pas de grille pains pas de choix ! les croissant viennent sans doute de Carrefour !!

Difficile de juger convenablement. D'ancienne enseigne Bonzai, cet hôtel n'est pas encore à l'image des Balladins. J'espère qu'il va s'améliorer en aspect général.

Pour une chambre sensée non fumeur ça sentait la cigarette, maintenant que c'est interdit ça ne devrait plus arriver. C'est regretable

Confort très sommaire. Lit=planche+matelas fin. Lavabos dans la chambre. Douche et WC sans séparation -> WC mouillés après la douche.

lhotel etain bien mai les douche tro petite est il afai pa de gand de toillette domage pour se fair une petite toilette le matin ses mieu il manqer un balai brosse a toilette si gro besoin ses mieu pour pa laisses le caca par tou.au niveau des autre personne tro bruillan opn nentender les voisin da coter nous etion au numero9 et eu au 10.a par sa le peti dejeunet pour 5euro s'aiter superbe

l'inconvénient ce que l'hôtel se trouve en zone industrielle et qu' il n'y a pas de moyen de transport....

Het hotel bevindt zich op een industrieterrein en is gelegen pal naast een truckkerparkeerplaats. Het is niet de lokatie ,die ik verwachtte en plezierig vond. De enorme plantengroei op de galerij maakte de hotelkamer erg donker. De hotelkamer, douche en toilet waren voor mij te klein.

Pas très bien indiqué - Difficulté à trouver Très bon accueil Confort correct Toilettes et douche non séparées - peu pratique Idéal pour un très court séjour

petit hôtel très simple-accueil agréable-prestations simples mais suffisantes pour un court séjour de passage.

C'est un hotel agréable ,calme,les chambres sont un petit peu petite mais pour les vacances à 2 c'est bien suffisant

kleine kamers wel goede ontbijtservice,zeer kleine bedden,dit is zeker voor zwaarlijvige mensen een groot probleem .ook de douches waar zich tevens de wc bevindt is zeer klein te noemen,je kunt je er nauwelijks in bewegen

Kamer met plastic granol, douchecabine van plastic, kamer stonk naar rook, brandgaten in de dekens... Kortom een smoezelige kamer geen aanrader! Lokatie op een industie terrein......

A very nice place for its price, my impression is extremely positive. Ideal starting point for going to Mon-San-Michelle
